Thredbo has a great village atmosphere with a lot of good cafes and restaurants, the chair lift runs every day for walking, Mountain bikes and of course skiing in winter. There’s also a golf course and leisure centre and the Luge is fun too. Check out their website for all the info. www.thredbo.com.au

The Thredbo Valley Track (TVT) runs from Thredbo village to Crackenback and then down to Trout Hatchery. It's 35km all the way but you can break it up into many different shorter rides.

There are also some great walks in the National Park. You need a park pass to drive up either the Thredbo or Perisher roads, you can get one on line, at the parks building in town or at the park gate. Probably the number one walk to do is to the top of Mt Kosciuszko, Australia’s highest mountain. The walk to Kosciuszko is 13km return from the top of the Thredbo chair lift, you’ll need a ticker for the lift. The walk is not very hard, you can catch the chair lift up from Thredbo and then the walk is 2 to 3 hours each way on a pretty flat walkway, no climbing or very steep sections. You can also walk from Charlottes Pass which is 19km return.

Yarrangobilly caves is a 2 hour drive from Jindabyne but the caves are very good and the road there goes though lots of national park which is nice… If you’re going that way you can also stop at “shut the gate” cellar door in Berridale, they have wine, but it’s also a providoor with a good selection of cheese and other yummy snacks. There's also a great thermal pool at Yarrangobilly that stays warm all year.
