Just 9 km from Casa Sara, Zalor Beach is know for it’s quite & lazy vibe. It is not a very crowded compared to other beaches in Goa. With just a shack or two, this beach is perfect for someone looking for some peace & quite. This beach is just 8 kms from Casa Sara. If you are lucky you will find local fishermen live in action catching fish!

Just 9 km from Casa Sara, Zalor Beach is know for it’s quite & lazy vibe. It is not a very crowded compared to other beaches in Goa. It also showcases an organic farm to cultivate various vegetables, herbs, spices, sugarcane, and rice—all staples of the area in coastal western India.
Just 10 km from Casa Sara, you must visit this exquisite house that was built in the late 18th century by a Portuguese nobleman and Dean of the church, José Paolo de Almeida, who arrived in Goa in 1779 at the age of 19 and spent the rest of his life there.
The current owners of this house, Ruben and his wife Célia, are warm and hospitable; their house tour followed by an authentic Goan lunch is highly recommended. However, please book the tour in advance as they have a limited seating capacity.

Just 10 km from Casa Sara, you must visit this exquisite house that was built in the late 18th century by a Portuguese nobleman and Dean of the church, José Paolo de Almeida, who arrived in Goa in 1779 at the age of 19 and spent the rest of his life there.
The current owners of this house, Ruben and his wife Célia, are warm and hospitable; their house tour followed by an authentic Goan lunch is highly recommended. However, please book the tour in advance as they have a limited seating capacity.
We highly recommend this experience! Chris offers one of the best boat cruises on the river sal. The whole ride is about 1.5 hrs and ideal for a group of 7 to 10 people.

Just 13 km from Casa Sara, this lighthouse is nestled atop a hill lock. It offers a panoramic view of the Betul beach, Quepem, and other surrounding villages. One needs to hike from the Holy Cross Chapel to reach here. The lighthouse closes around 6:30 pm, so make sure you reach before that.

Located in Margao about 11 kms from Casa Sara, this is one of the most beautiful churches of South Goa. It is popularly called “Espirito Santo Igreja em Margao” in Goa
The first Holy Spirit Church in Margao was founded by the Jesuits in 1564. This church was however destroyed in a fire in 1571. The present Holy Spirit Church, Margao church, the fifth one was built in 1675.

In the first half of the day, if you are lucky, you can buy local organic produce at very reasonable prices.

All these places listed are our regular hangouts & we highly recommend them :) There are many local eateries within a radius of 1 to 5 km around Casa Sara; you'll easily spot them when you go around.
You can also use Zamato or Swiggy for home delivery.
Located close to Chinchinim, about 3.5 km from Casa Sara, this is a fantastic place for a quick not so pricy Goan meal. We highly recommend you try their Goan sausage pulao, beef rolls & Mackrel ranchero fry.

The best way to get around is to hire a bike or car
If you are traveling alone or as a couple of the best & fastest way to get around Goa is on a bike! Hence it's a good idea to rent one as soon as you get here. If you are traveling with children, use of care is advisable.
