There are a number of amazing small-batch local ice cream shops in Calgary. Village is one of the originals that started the scene. I recommend the Melted Chocolate and North 49 Honeyberry.

Lots of choices for Korean fried chicken in Calgary but this one's my favorite, and coincidentally the closest to your Airbnb. Their Snowing Chicken uses real asiago cheese so that's a win in my books.

Our neighborhood is part of the Italian district, but almost no locals have ever heard of it! You'll find all the authentic historic Italian restaurants and markets nearby. There is a semi-private golf course (attracts rich people) and off leash dog park (specifically rich dog owners) 2 blocks away. Original houses from the 1940s are being replaced with newer semi-detached infills and the odd detached mini-mansion. No parking restrictions to deal with unlike those other unfortunate inner city communities.
Winston Heights-Mountview
Our neighborhood is part of the Italian district, but almost no locals have ever heard of it! You'll find all the authentic historic Italian restaurants and markets nearby. As Chinatown slowly gentrifies, all the old school Chinese businesses and clientele move north up Centre Street into Crescent Heights and Tuxedo Park, making this the #1 area to be intimidated by all-Chinese restaurant menus.
