Within 10 min distance from this house, Lake Arrowhead Beach is located in the beautifully wooded Lake Arrowhead Park in the scenic Shenandoah Valley just below Skyline Drive. The beach is white sand with a concession stand and lifeguards seasonally. The park has picnic shelters throughout. The 34 acre lake offers recreational opportunities including fishing and is surrounded by a nature trail. There are also kayaks and canoes available for rent seasonally.
The Lake Arrowhead beach is open starting Memorial Day weekend (weekends only) until school lets out, which is usually around June 1. Then the beach is open 7 days a week through the middle of August. From the middle of August through Labor Day, it is open on weekends only. Hours of operation are from 11am - 6:00pm daily. It’s an easy 1.7 mile round trip hike with 340 ft. of elevation that takes you to the summit of Stony Man Mountain, the second highest point in the park. From there you can clamber out on to the top of some rocks, sit, and enjoy scenic views of Shenandoah Valley.
