Rated by Qantas as one of the top 3 beaches in Queensland. Complete with numerous Cafes, Restaurants & Watersports hire and well and truly long enough to find your own little spot without being trampled by other beachgoers. There is a lifeguard tower operating year round and even swimming nets for jellyfish season.

Sightseeing
Stacks to do in Kuranda, including the steam train up and the Skyrail down, waterfalls, short and easy boardwalk bushwalk paths, lollie shop, arts and crafts, Rainforestation, Koala, Snake, Bird and butterfly habitats etc. (If you do wish to do the train, do it up ONLY. Do not take the train down as it is a very slow and arduous trip stopping constantly. After a long day with kids it is quite literally torture.)

Whilst a drive from Palm Cove, its worth the trip to see nature at its best. Plenty of short/medium bushwalks for the whole family and a crisp mountain river for a soul cleansing experience. Park in the carpark head inside the reception and catch a bus up to the picnic area where the bushwalks start from. There is a place to dip in at the picnic area, so you don't even have to do the bushwalks if you don't want to.

What else to say than a natural wonder of the world. There are a myriad of options available to head out to the reef, including major pontoons for the bulk tourist trippers, to small yachts and even private dive trips. Regardless of how you do it, you cant leave here without seeing it.

Literally the best food in Far North Queensland, owned and operated by celebrity Chef Nick Holloway, regularly seen on Masterchef. Unlike many other celebrity Chef owned restaurants, 'Nicko' is in the kitchen most evenings. With the only "absolute beachfront' location in Palm Cove, it is quite literally the best restaurant location in Australia. Best views for breakfast and brunch, lunch and dinner...and make sure to order the lemon bread...Mmmmwa! But make sure to book BEFORE coming if you want a table on the beachfront deck.

Joined with Portofino Chill Cafe is another locals regular coffee location. With beachfront views and a relaxed Cafe Del Mar bar type feel to it, its the more 'trendy' of the options in Palm Cove.

Located at Palm Cove Beachfront, they have plenty to choose from like parasailing, kayaking, jetski's etc, with one of the best being their kayak tours of Double Island. Its not short, but worth the effort.
