I grew up on St. Simons Island and I'm happy to make recommendations based on what you're looking for on your stay. This island has a lot to offer- local boutiques, bars & restaurants, public beaches, fishing and golfing. The St. Simons Pier Village has a fishing pier, shops, bars, restaurants, and two large playgrounds for kids. In the warmer months Neptune water playground and mini golf are open, and a summer concert series in the park on Sundays. There are often arts and crafts shows or antique shows happening on the weekends.

Jekyll Island is more remote than St. Simons, but it also has great beaches and restaurants. There is a toll to get onto the island because this is a state park. This is a beautiful place to take a long bike ride around the islands many bike trails. You can rent bikes on Jekyll to do this. Driftwood beach is the islands most treasured gem- you don't want to miss this picture opp!

This is a great place for local fried shrimp and gator tail. My husband and I got married here so it’s one of our favorite restaurants to frequent!

This place has a lot of history behind it! Uniquely named for its setting in a big Red Barn! The food is great! Spaghetti and Lasagna are hidden gems on the menu but they’re known for their steaks. They also have a full range of seafood. Try their signature drink called the “Raccoon”. During the holiday season there’s a huge Christmas tree and fire going in the big fireplace. Call ahead for reservations but they also take walk ins.

Jekyll Island Christmas Lights
Jekyll Island has a beautiful light display during the holiday season. There are events every weekend over the holidays. Check out the Jekyll Island website for the schedule if you're going to be here during the holidays. The lights display is self guided or you can purchase tour tickets, or take a romantic carriage ride to see them.
