As we all know hurricane Harvey devastated our little area of South Texas coastline. After the storm hit, the (Original) Hu-Dat building was destroyed beyond repair. So after 25 long years it was time for a facelift. We're so excited to be back open for this great community so come down and see us at the new Hudats and Benchwarmers!

The New Fulton Fishing Pier Update is that it’s now complete, and open to the public. The pier has some new state-of-the-art LED fishing lights that illuminate water for greater visibility of fish below surface level. You can go catch a few nice fish from the end of the pier. Anyone can walk down the pier without charge but if you’re looking for an even more interactive experience, bring your fishing pole to this magnificent structure! The Town of Fulton will be building a little shack soon where people fishing will pay $5 per rod in order to cast their lines into Aransas Bay. It’s also completely free just stroll and check out what the people are catching.

What is today known as the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge first emerged 120,000 years ago during the Pleistocene era when a barrier island was born. Today, this landscape is best known for its prominent place in the American wildlife conservation movement. In 1941, when only 15 whooping cranes survived in the wild, the iconic bird became an emblem of alarm and concern for all endangered and threatened species. Aransas became a focal point of the national and worldwide effort to rescue the species from extinction.
