Hampton AvenueReally interesting for all ages. Dress up for kids, loads of artworks, a ‘through the ages’ exhibition, beautiful gardens & a tropical cactus house, lovely tea rooms. We’re a bit wary of holiday museums, but this is a great trip. Probably half a day to enjoy everything, you could just do the ‘best bits’ in a couple of hours or take your time and chill in the rose garden.
Surprisingly good gift shop too!

Really interesting for all ages. Dress up for kids, loads of artworks, a ‘through the ages’ exhibition, beautiful gardens & a tropical cactus house, lovely tea rooms. We’re a bit wary of holiday museums, but this is a great trip. Beautiful medieval village and country park. Craft shops - local wine, handmade chocolates, glassblowing etc. Horse & carriage rides from the seafront. Great pub - The Drum, excellent Sunday roasts! Beautiful walks in a historic setting. Hidden gem half a mile from Torquay seafront. Great play park for younger kids.

Boat trips to Brixham, Dartmouth and beyond. Coastal wildlife tours. Speedboat trips. Good food scene around Marina and harbour. We like: Bar 21, Man Fridays Lobster House, Rockfish, Below Decks for breakfast and harbour activities, Pierpoint for fizz and sundowners, WeSup for SUP hire, great coffee and the Salcombe Gin Terrace. Offshore for outside meals, good bar food and live music.

Part shingle part rocky beach. Dogs allowed on rocky end all year round.
