Shibden Hall and Park dates back to 1420 and offers visitors a fascinating journey through the lives of the people who lived and worked here, including the noted diarist Anne Lister (1791 - 1840).
Shibden Hall’s architecture is a mix of styles reflecting its interesting and varied history. The adjacent 17th century aisled barn and workshops house a carriage collection and displays relating to different crafts, including a blacksmiths, coopers, wheelwrights and saddlers.
The Hall is surrounded by the beautifully restored gardens and estate that forms Shibden Park. There are a range of features and attractions, including a cafe and visitor facilities, miniature railway, boating lake, walking trails, play area, orienteering course and woodland in which to roam.

Halifax is a historic market, mill, and minster town[1][2] in the Metropolitan Borough of Calderdale in West Yorkshire, England. In the 15th century, the town became an economic hub of the old West Riding of Yorkshire, primarily in woollen manufacture. Halifax is also the largest town in the wider Calderdale borough.
From New Year's Day 1779, manufacturers and mercers dealt internationally in such articles through its grandiose square, the Piece Hall. Halifax is known for Mackintosh's chocolate and toffee products including Rolo and Quality Street. The Halifax Bank was founded and has large offices in the town. Dean Clough, north of the town centre, was once one of the largest textile factories in the world at more than 1⁄2 mile (800 m) long; today the building has been converted for office and retail use including a gym, theatre, restaurants, and a radio station.

An outdoor activity centre for mountain boarding, grass sledging, archery and sling shots, low ropes course, go-kart building and racing and bumper balls. A fantastic family fun day with lots of activities to choose from, ideally located just up the road from Ogden Reservoir.

The snow tubing here is absolutely wild. We visited with children from aged 5 and up and the 45 minute sessions gave the kids plenty of time for fun fill giggles down the slope. Even the adults joined in, making is a great idea for families to enjoy time together.
