Neighbourhoods

Toronto is filled with little pocket neighborhoods where diverse cultures are allowed to live harmoniously within the Greater Toronto Area. You can feel as if you're traveling to other foreign lands, but way cheaper, lol. Eh, not really but maybe just a little :) At least you can try the cuisine! Below are a few nearby to consider.
Lots of independent restaurants, bars and clubs. Vegandale. Cross-section of all types makes this area colorful and vibrant. Must check out all the vegan restaurants, coffee shops and bars: Vegan Danish Bakery, Imperative, Doomies, Bar Vegandale. Other vegan friendly options at Duggans and Shameful Tiki Bar. Also you must check out the Tibetan fare: Momos. When the Bars and Clubs are fully open, one of the most vibrant Live music scene in TO happens here in Parkdale: Cadillac Lounge, Tennessee, Stones Place (now closed due to.pandemic). Other chill bars: Mezzros and The Pharmacy. Haven't been to all the new bars in Parkdale but so many from which to choose - if you have a recommendation, I'll put it on the list

Toronto's Gay Village. A must visit for its night life - super fun for both LGBTQs and heteros alike! Just walk up and down Church St from Bloor to Gerrard, especially near Wellesley and Alexander streets. Best sights during Gay Pride, of course, but Halloween night is also tremendous fun

Not my kind of scene but for sure plenty of attractions and major sports venues in this neighborhood See your favorite sports teams, eat steak, hooters, major dance club action Golfers: A mini putt lol here at the docks. The main large greens are located in the burbs in Thornhill or Stouffville, and such. Here in Parkdale just at the top of the street is a storefront called The Sand Trap, where you can practice teeing, etc., before heading out to the greens!

Roncesvalles is Toronto's old Polish neighborhood. Enjoy authentic Polish cuisine: kielbasa, pierogis and zywiec beer, oh yeah. Roncesvalles is also filled with various shops, bakeries, and the like. You can see fine repertory cinema at the Revue Cinema located at 400 Roncesvalles Avenue

Craving for something out of the ordinary? Along this stretch between Bathurst and Grace St on Bloor St, you'll find authentic Korean cuisine. Not for those with delicate tastes and tummies. After your meal, you can visit the Poop Cafe for dessert 🍨 💩 😄 !

Need to beat the summer heat? Head over the largest public pool in the city by Lake Ontario at Sunnyside Gus Ryder Pool. After a dip in the pool, you can relax on the beach, enjoy snacks and refreshments at Sunnyside Pavillion while watching a game of beach volleyball, a dragonboat race, or just people watch. Views are tremendous and all just minutes away! Thanks Michele, for mentioning it! I forgot how awesome Sunnyside is!

Shameless self-promotion here but if you love culture, both low- and highbrow, go to She Said Boom on College St or its sister store on Roncesvalles, to browse the curated selection of books and music. Focus is on literature, philosophy, graphic novels, and the like for used books; opera, jazz to punk rock for music on vinyl, cds. Partner and fellow host is the proprietor of this well-known local gem.

If you plan to visit the tourist sites, and will be staying for several days in the city, you can save some cash by buying a CityPass, though it's a bit pricey if you skip a site... https://www.citypass.com/toronto?mv_source=rkg&adpos&creative=311560351850&device=m&matchtype=e&network=g&gclid=CjwKCAjw46CVBhB1EiwAgy6M4n6ZWQSZvWLS96KqNJl6C7g2EBQyCqW1oJZlOCKVo2rIhI-jmxV3WxoCiIYQAvD_BwE
