This is a really cool historic town, with a gorgeous opera house! My parents met and fell in love here in the 60's, so it has a special place in my heart. Now-a-days it is a big gambling scene with many casinos.

This is a fantastic ski area! Not as big or popular as many others along the I-70 corridor but just as high quality skiing and snowboarding along with majestic views.
(Be sure to note this year you must reserve parking in advance)

For the more adventurous, you can always take your 4 wheel drive vehicle 5 miles further to fourth of July trail head. All of these hikes explore the gorgeous and historic Indian Peaks Wilderness area. In the summer it makes for a wonderful first backpacking trip.

Pretty special to have the most magical carousel right in the heart of town. This isn't like any you have seen before, it was hand carved by a Vietnam veteran over 25 years as a way of healing from the war.

Really beautiful place to see the aspens turning in fall. It has lots of hiking and beauty accessible by car including Panorama Point with views of 100 miles of the Continental Divide.
