Open Wed-Sun 4pm-9pm. Headwaters is great as it is walking distance from our cabin. You can either take the Paul Bunyan Trail to the restaurant or kayak to their beach and walk up to their restaurant.

Minnesota Mosquitos and Flies
The mosquitos and flies can be a major pain to your vacation. We suggest wearing layers and hats to protect yourself against bugs. The more perfumes and scented shampoos you use, the more aggressive the bugs can be. Use insect repellent like DEET. And if you get swimmers itch or bug bites, we have hydrocortisone and calamine lotion available for you to use.

Explore the Paul Bunyan Trail
The Paul Bunyan bike trail runs right past our front yard. There are over 1,000 caches hidden along the 120 miles of the Paul Bunyan Trail. We recommend biking to the south (~4 miles) towards downtown Hackensack. It's a flat and easy ride. If you have more time, bike to the north toward Walker (~8 miles). Be aware that there are moderate hills and a few sections of the trail where you will need to bike through a neighborhood and cross the highway. Bring your wallet as you may want to get lunch or ice cream in town!
