Also: We highly recommend taking a walk around East Falls to see some of the most storybook streets in Philadelphia. Be sure to walk along Penn street crossing Henry Avenue all the way to Fox street. Make a lap around McMichael Park and come back along Warden, Coulter, or Midvale Street. Last but not least: Get lost in the undulating terrain of Laurel Hill Cemetery. It’s nearby and one of the best kept secrets in the city.

Chestnut Hill: An iconic cobblestone main street surrounded by historic homes and lush parks For drinks: Chestnut Hill Hotel For dinner: McNally’s For adventure: More drinks at McNally’s Also: You can’t go wrong with a stroll along Germantown Avenue. Be sure to check out the streets close to Pastorious Park. If you find yourself walking downhill for a while you’re sure to end up in the Wissahickon Valley Park again. Not a bad problem to have, but the hills on the return could be painful.

Be sure to check out the streets close to Pastorious Park. If you find yourself walking downhill for a while you’re sure to end up in the Wissahickon Valley Park again. Not a bad problem to have, but the hills on the return could be painful.

Walking / Running

The 5.5 mile bridle path, known as Forbidden Drive, is closed to vehicular traffic and is surrounded by hiking trails and scenic river views. It also features the only covered bridge within city limits in the entire United States, and Runner's World once ranked it the 10th best trail / system of trails in the entire country. Getting there. The closest parking area is along Lincoln Drive, but it is also the trickiest to access. To find the parking lot along Lincoln Drive, take Midvale Avenue towards Wissahickon Avenue. Turn left on Wissahickon Avenue. Follow it down hill and turn left on Rittenhouse Street. Follow Rittenhouse street as it merges onto Lincoln Drive. After merging onto Lincoln Drive, there are two parking areas on the right. You can also park at the Valley Green Inn. Valley Green Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19128 The furthest parking location is by the Northwestern Stables on the northern side of Chestnut Hill Northwestern Stables, 120 W Northwestern Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19118
