Incredible, hearty food, great atmosphere and phenomenal service - the Dragon Inn is one of my favourite places to eat! It's usually busy, so book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Beautiful pub-style food, but the real winner is the specials board which is always amazing! Cosy and warm with a great wine list - a winter favourite of mine.

Great coffee AND a great bookshop? Book-ish has it all! They have a great selection of cakes, coffees, teas, food and vegan options. I also highly recommend adding them on facebook and having a flick through their upcoming events because they also host pop up kitchens, board game nights (my favourite) and talks with Authors.

Fantastic little bakery with a wide range of pastries, fresh bread, cakes and sandwiches. My favourite choice for breakfast in bed, or snacks to take on your walk!

Beautifully renovated and spacious coffee shop just round the corner - Latte-Da are incredibly friendly, and I'll often go and do my working day there! The food is beautiful - they have a wide range of choices for breakfast and lunch, and the coffee is one of my favourites in town! When you pop in for your coffee definitely pop into The Makers Gallery above Latte-da. They have some beautiful things for sale, from cards to sculptures, and help to support local artists!

Local Shops

Beautiful little florist! If you're coming away for a special occasion you can pre-order a bouquet and I'll pick it up for you and put it in your Flat ready for your arrival (this usually goes down VERY well!).

Beautiful clothes, accessories and tit-bits. There is a larger one in Abergavenny that also has a coffee shop!

Walks you can do from the front door

My all time favourite hike in Crickhowell. About a 7 mile round trip with around 2000ft + Climbing. Panoramic views across the Black Mountains, Crickhowell and into the Brecon Beacons. It can also easily be extended for a full day out!

Gorgeous walk that has several different paths up - i'll show you my favourites! Usually about 6 miles but can easily be extended for a full day out.

Table Mountain is the smaller mountain in front of Pen Cerrig Calch. It's about a 4.5 mile round trip from the front door. The trail passes through farmland, forest and then up a single track trail that heads up through the ferns and round to Table Mountain. It boasts gorgeous panoramic views of the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons. It's a great choice if you're a bit shorter on time.

Walks a bit of a drive away

Pen y Fan is only about a half an hour drive from Crickhowell, and I love it! There's a reason it's so popular - it's tough, but high reward! The views are stunning, and if you take one of the quieter paths up, then you'll hardly see anyone til you're near the top! I'll point you in the direction of my favourite routes up! If you're looking for a longer day out, then I highly recommend the Horseshoe loop - about 9 miles but it takes in the other peaks around Pen y Fan too!

The Sugarloaf is a stunning walk - I highly recommend parking in Abergavenny and walking up through St Mary's Vale, but there is a Car Park about half way up if you fancy something shorter. For a longer day out you can actually start this walk in Crickhowell, walk over to Llangenny and then head up from there. I highly recommend taking a map or downloading ViewRanger, because it's easy to get lost coming down off the Sugarloaf - especially in bad weather!
