Driving is easy. Busses are irregular but available.
There are a lot of one way streets in Launceston. Sweet town with lovely coffee shops. There is a shop full of Tasmanian made products in Gorge Street.
The CBD is a 5 minute drive from here and a 17 minute walk into town... a bit longer walking home (up the hill).

The town centre has a lot of pretty good shops. Some pretty individual ones with lovely gifts to buy. For instance, Inspire, The Tasmanian Artisan Shop, Rhubarb, just to name a few.
