Port Jefferson or “Down Port” is a great place to go and walk around. There are tons of restaurants on the water as well as little boutiques to do a little shopping! It also has a playground and a beach front area that’s great for watching the sunset.

Transportation
There are many forms of transportation to get around our area. First of all there is an abundance of ubers that are always available. There is also the Long Island railroad which is about a 10 minute drive from our house. This can take you anywhere on Long Island and even into New York City. There’s a variety of bus stops in the area as well.

The Long Island Aquarium is a huge hit with our family. It’s about 30 minutes from our house. The Long Island Explorium is also a great place to take children. It is a museum featuring hands on exhibits for children about 10 minutes from our home.
