Head up to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort during the summer to visit Boo our resident Grizzly Bear. Boo was orphaned and in need of help after an unfortunate incident and he now lives in a 5 acre enclosure on the slopes of our ski hill. Boo is a beautiful bear and the local guides will tell you all about Boo's history, present life and future; Boo is well loved, well looked after and doing very well!

Sitting atop Kicking Horse Mountain Resort this is a restaurant with one heck of a view! Pop in for some food or a drink if you are skiing or biking at the resort or if you just want to head up the gondola to enjoy this place you can do so by purchasing a 'gondola sightseeing' ticket.

Our (relatively) new Mexican spot and home to the best burrito we've ever had! They've also got killer cocktails and a nice patio on a sunny summer day, highly recommended.

A big part of why we moved to Golden is this ski hill, it is steep, deep and has something for everyone including some epic terrain in the recently opened Ozone and Middle Ridge. Get vertical on Whitewall, slay some deep steeps on T1 North, wrangle some chutes found everywhere at this ski hill, it doesn't dissapoint!

A beuatiful and well maintained x-country ski area near the base of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, we love it and we bet you will too! This area also does snowshoeing if that's your thing.

Lake Louise is the hill I grew up skiing and it is a most spectacular resort with lots for every skill level including a massive terrain park, alpine bowls and chutes, beautifully flowing beginner and intermediate runs from top to bottom and quintessential ski-hill lodges for eating, drinking and warming up between runs. Only 1 hour from Golden, if you feel like a change of scenery from Kicking Horse Mountain Resort (our favourite hill) then Louise is a fantastic option. I also recommend going for a drink at the Chateau Lake Louise bar after skiing here to complete your Lake Louise experience :)

We love visiting these falls and we always bring visitors here, the entire Blaeberry Valley is just a magical place and a true favourite of ours, definitely explore this valley while you're here! We love visiting these falls and we always bring visitors here, the entire Blaeberry Valley is just a magical place and a true favourite of ours, definitely explore this valley while you're here! A beautiful lake with magically coloured water, Emerald Lake is aptly named and offers canoe rentals, hiking around the lake, picnicking with the family and general gorgeousness. If you're travelling to Golden from the west this is a great stop to make along the way, same goes for Takakkaw Falls.

Head over to the Blaeberry River valley and keep it simple. This is a gorgeous location just to stroll, skip rocks, watch bald eagles fishing, view the Kokanee Salmon spawning in the fall, just go, we love it and you'll love it too.
