Built over the burial site of Saint Olav, the king of Norway in the 11th century, who became the patron saint of the nation. It is the traditional location for the consecration of the King of Norway. It was built from 1070 to 1300.

The second biggest tourist attraction in Trondheim is Tyholt tower. From 74 meters height, you spin around Trondheim in 1 hour, enjoying nice views. I would not recommend the restaurant up there, but have a glass of wine or a Coke while you see Trondheim in 360 degrees.

Enjoy a nice 15 minute boat ride out to Munkholmen, a previous prison and then brewery, but check when the boat leaves before you plan to go there. They have a restaurant, but you can bring your own food and just sit on the grass/rock beach if you want to be more budget-friendly.
