To me this is one of the most beautiful places in Bacalar, you haven’t been in Bacalar if you don’t go here! This is an important place in Bacalar where the pirates used to get in to this magical place to steal the “Palo de tinte” 🌳 (used to paint the clothes) this Chanal has a beautiful turquoise and clear water, you can see the mangroves and some birds. Please don’t make the “natural spa” you’ll see some people doing it with the sand but don’t do it we are trying to protect this place, so help us please!

El Canal De Los Piratas Bacalar
To me this is one of the most beautiful places in Bacalar, you haven’t been in Bacalar if you don’t go here! Don’t miss out in 1 day trip!
If you are here it means you will do a short visit, don’t worry for that, I can suggest you to visit the places in my guide and if you take a tour it will help you to see the 80% of Bacalar : the pirates channel, 3 cenotes that are inside the lagoon (cenote negro o de la bruja, cenote esmeralda and cenote cocalitos) and the birds island, the other 20% is the cenote azul and the fort San Felipe.
