A quaint little town - "the biggest little town in Australia" - Mullum has farmer's markets every Friday morning at the showground and many little stores and cafes to explore. You can also see Mount Chincogan from some parts of town.

Another little Northern Rivers town, Bruns has a well loved kid's beach (Torakina), river views (and stand up paddleboarding), and long stretches of sandy ocean beaches.

My favourite easy rainforest walk in the area is the Protestor's falls track. If you're quiet you will hear a lot of the wildlife that live in the rainforest, and you might even see a Pademelon (a tiny forward leaning marsupial that looks a bit like a kangaroo). Please don't swim in the waterfall or river here, as they're home to the endangered Fleay's barred frog.

A beautiful board walk through Melaleuca forest. The board walk is not long (about 300m), but you really get a immersive wetland experience. You can access the board walk behind the Butler St Reserve.
