Food Scene
Newburgh has a growing number of great eateries, ranging from fine dining to fast food and everything in between. You'll definitely want to stroll down Liberty Street during the day, where you'll find coffee, pastries, award winning James Beard chef entrees, a pub and a local hangout with great food -- all within three or four blocks - just across from Washington's headquarters.
Not much farther away are some great places on Water Street, Broadway and beyond. And, of course, there's the waterfront, with some good restaurants, many with patios right along the Hudson River and boat dock.

I go for the best pizza in town, thin crust, and to watch the the trains just below and the boats go up and down the river. They also have Italian entrées and ice cream, all overlooking the Hudson River in the old West Shore train station now shared with Hudson Taco.

Hudson Taco is housed in the West Shore train station, designed by Warren & Wetmore and built in 1909, this Newburgh location predates its architects’ more recognizable project: Grand Central Station.
