Sightseeing
I love to drive to this beautiful town that is steeped and enjoy its harbor area. Take a boat ride to the island of Sfaktiria and learn about the Battle of Navarone that took place in this area. While in the area it is also worth seeing the castles at Methoni and Koroni.

The ancient town of Messene is worth a visit. Walk among the ruins that have been excavated and try and imagine what life was like in Ancient Greece. Enjoy the olive groves and visit the museum. My favorite part of a trip out there is to also go see the ancient city walls just outside the town. The monastery of Voulkanou is situated just above the town for those that like to visit places of religious interest.
