Take a ferry across to Manly from Rose Bay or Circular Quay, if you're on the Fast Ferry you cannot use your OPAL card, but they do serve alcoholic beverages on board (if you are so inclined). Make a day of it and walk the Spit Bridge to Manly walk, then have lunch at one of the many great restaurants and take the ferry back in the afternoon.

After your walk catch a drink at Watson's Bay Hotel overlooking the water, or alternativel, head onto the Wharf for some seafood at Doyle's Restaurant - it's an institution!

this is the hipster spot down on the rocks. Tamarama can have some nasty swell and feel like you’re stuck in a washing machine so if the surf is big sometimes people will just refresh in the rock pools between Mackenzie Bay and Tamarama.

Foam surfboards can be used along any of the beaches even when the flags are up. North Bondi is a great spot to try your hand at surfing as the waves are generally smaller and cleaner. Alternatively, you can get some surfing lessons down at the beach (Let’s Go Surfing), or you can hire surfboards Let’s Go Surfing or Bondi Surf Co.
