Our personal favorite place for breakfast is Janet's Café. They have been serving the community since 1994 as a family owned and operated business. They bring you some of the best food and customer service in San Diego county. Their menu is filled with many homemade family recipes. They believe in doing everything they can to ensure that customers are completely satisfied. Our favorite Farm style breakfast is the Eggs Benedict Country Style! Homemade biscuits topped with sausage patties, two poached eggs, all smothered in country gravy!!!
Get there early, hours are 6:30am to 2:30pm, 7 days a week.

A wonderful little restaurant/cafe serving Mexican Cuisine. The food is fresh and always full of flavor. The Carne Asada Fries are a local favorite along with the tacos. The owner is always warm and inviting and occasionally on Friday nights they have live music. It's a nice place to chill and have drinks. Just 1.1 miles from the Guest House.

Lake Fishing/Recreation
Lake Cuyamaca is a recreation area operated by the Lake Cuyamaca Recreation and Park District and the Helix Water District. It offers boating, fishing, picnicking, birdwatching and hiking. A store, restaurant, pub, and tackle shop are onsite, as well as boat rentals.
The reservoir is stocked with over 38,000 lbs. of trout annually, and is the only San Diego lake that is able to stock trout all year long. Other species of fish include Florida bass, smallmouth bass, channel catfish, crappie, bluegill and sturgeon.
