The River Cabin is 20 minutes from the High Peaks wilderness and very convenient to several trail heads, making it very easy access to climb the high peaks. The River Cabin is a great location to get some of your peaks done!

Historical Sights
This is one of my favorite spots in the Adirondacks. You can hike back to the preserve or ride back in on a horse drawn wagon, however you must make reservations for the wagon 518-639-5534 or 518-480-1743

Gore Mountain is only a 35/40 minute drive from the cabin. It is a wonderful family ski resort. It has the steepest trail on the east coast, Rumor. Chances are if it’s a weekend, or good conditions my family will be either at Gore or Whiteface during the winter!

Gore Mountain is only a 35/40 minute drive from the cabin. It is a wonderful family ski resort. It has the steepest trail on the east coast, Rumor. Chances are if it’s a weekend, or good conditions my family will be either at Gore or Whiteface during the winter!
Whiteface Mountain is 45/50 minutes from the cabin. It is an incredible ski resort. The trails are a bit more challenging than those at Gore mountain.

Our kids, Reese and Grant work here. They are both servers, so if you decide to dine here you can request them! Make sure to tell them you are guests at the cabin. My husband, Dan and I, think they have the best menu in town. Of course, we think they have the best servers as well!Trail Break is just 4 miles from the cabin!
