Sightseeing
This is a historically significant and is one of Victoria's most important historical sites. It was built to defend the entrance to Port Phillip Bay. It became the headquarters for a chain of forts around the heads. It was manned as a coastal defence installation from 1883 until 1946.
The fort can only be visited by an organised tour which occurs 7 days a week excluding public holidays and temperatures above 30 degrees. . The tour takes about 90 minutes. Look up website for further information.
