some Beaches within Walking Distance
Beaches
There are many dozens of wonderful beaches, several within walking distance. While I don’t know of a beach I don’t like, here are some of my within-walking-distance favorites.
There is another section in the Guidebook listing other great beaches. As you can imagine, the great-beach list could be endless.
This beach is an easy 4 mile bike ride mostly on side roads with only a short stretch on Route 28. Of course, you can drive there, but like all other Cape beaches, in season, the parking lot fills up fast. The beach runs right along with parking lot, so you can easily run back and get things out of your car. There is a good snack bar and while there aren't many sand dunes, the flat sand is great for beach walking.
ON the far end of the beach, you can usually find kite surfers :) enjoying their sport and entertaining aka mesmerizing others with their skill.
On the way there, Good Friends Cafe has excellent breakfasts (and lunches). The Lighthouse Inn Restaurant, right near the beach, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in July and August.
