Local Food Scene
We have some great local food options from restaurants and cafes to roadside stands selling delicious bakery and fresh foods. Some have said that My Chosen Cafe Pizza is a spiritual experience - we agree! especially good when taken down to Taylor beach to watch the seals.
Langford, Colwood, and Sooke also have some good options. Downtown Victoria is a foodie haven for sure. Our first pick downtown is Brassiere L'ecole (https://www.lecole.ca).
The cafe is legendary here. Huge, tasty portions, fun atmosphere and decor, friendly staff and affordable. Try to go just before or after peak times as there is a wait and no reservations. Take out Pizza and combos at the back near the petting farm (do check on the goats!) are also legendary. Take away to the beach is always recommended by us!

This cafe is right in the village. They make great espresso and lattes plus a delicious keto breakfast sandwich, homemade soups, waffles with yoghurt, blueberries and maple syrup (caution - swooning may occur), and more. A favourite local spot.

The beautiful Glenrosa is right near Matheson lake, 5 minutes from us. A lovely farm house converted to a restaurant with wonderful views. Jane is your host and all the staff are lovely. Great food and some evenings there is entertainment.
