Open up your bedroom wall and enjoy the intimate surrounds of rainforest along the Never Never River just below your TreeHouse hideaway. Created by an iconic Australian architect on our 13h property, located ten minutes drive from funky Bellingen. Swim Olympic lengths of our clean, cool & freshwater front yard. Find seasonal fruit & vegetables in our garden. Walk, canoe, ride nearby and beyond in Dorrigo and Belongil national parks. Ask about other onsite beds for families. Tread lightly. Relax.
We love our Gleniffer home -- beautiful is an understatement trying to describe the typical response to arriving in this northern NSW series of river Valleys called the Bellinger Valley and including destinations like Kalang, Thora and the Never Never Creek. Our place is located in a quite precious part of the globe called Promised Land, romantically named by an enraptured Italian farmer. But it won't stay like this forever without management of our riparian (river) vegetation. All moneys from Air BnB help us to protect this place. So thankyou in advance! Australia's native bush appreciates your patronage!! The Tree House is a destination in itself, in a valley that offers enough activity for a prolonged stay. We embrace the environment here, enjoying its natural bounty -- moments of peace, its rain storms, its cacophony of birdlife and the meandering or flooding/raging River. Our 3-part tree house was designed by respected Australian architect, Richard LePlastrier. He thoughtfully designed for the local climate with minimalist iron/timber and flywire and built in 1980 by a meticulous Dutchman Henk Mulder. Its architecture is inherent to your experience sleeping, congregating and chilling from up high in your treehouse River Room. We have made only minor adjustments to the interior architecture in order to preserve the historical significance of the building -- hence for example, the bathroom is nearby but not an ensuite. The River Room is a very BIG space, detached via walkway from our main home. It is simply furnished which best suits its minimalist architecture. You sleep in a comfy King-sized bed and have extensive desk & couch space for writing, painting, reading and quiet time in what amounts to your own living room, not just bedroom. One wall opens up like a garage door and reveals the Never Never Creek, just metres below. It lends a peacefulness to our home that is hard to quantify or express. You are the only guests and to ensure your experience is in keeping with our neighborhood atmospheric, we request absolutely no visitors during your stay. TELECOMMUNICATIONS We cater in the most basic of ways for tech heads! The River Room has phone reception but no TV. There's a basic music player and good LED reading (a TV is in nearby shared lounge/kitchen, but truly, it's probably not going to be your focus whilst staying here). Please note we offer no unnecessary frills or clutter! Having said that, you have the most comfortable of beds in the rarest of surroundings. If you book the River Room for 1/2 adults and/or a baby or older children (likely it's not suitable for energetic toddlers), your family can request a "special offer" for additional beds from Air BnB. Or there are terrific other accommodation options nearby. And we have "The Hut" on the edge of our property which is offered separately on the Air BnB site and has a double and single bed and its own bathroom -- with compost toilet and beautiful shower. The River Room itself is NOT suitable for a group of adults. It only suits 2 adults. Your bathroom is along a short walkway (ie: it is close but it is not an ensuite). It's open to the surrounding environment but discreetly designed for privacy. We love it! Your wonderfully drenching shower, basin and toilet is alongside our 2nd building. It is private but constructed so you can enjoy your rainforest surrounds. In summer or winter, you may like to use a dressing gown/wrap. SWIMMING THE NEVER NEVER Probably our most special feature is that you don't have to go anywhere else to find somewhere to walk or swim. Swimming in summer is literally at your doorstep in clean and deep fresh nearby waterholes. Talk to us about fish/eels and water monitors and platypus. Upstream, (never here yet) there have been a few incidents over many years of stings and frights from the occasional bull rout and cat fish who live in exposed parts of the river. LONG STAYS / WALKING/ BIKE RIDING Go to Dorrigo and Ebor for their excellent guided walks and extensive trackways within the NSW Parks and Wildlife managed areas within half an hour of our Valley. There are many astounding and well managed National Parks at nearby Dorrigo and the Coast at Bonville and offshore, the Solitary Islands for wondrous diving. The newly created Urunga "wetlands" Boardwalk (accessible off the old Pacific Highway) is a truly stunning walk and there's a longer established boardwalk to the beach from Urunga township. You can canoe, ride a bicycle and even horseride with the help of nearby Valery Trails. Close to us at Tallowood Point is the highest rainfall regularly recorded in NSW, guaranteeing a healthy riparian zone with the help of dedicated regeneration efforts by local families and authorities. We enjoy sublime winter days which are usually warm and sunny before you retire and tuck under your River Room doona! Summers are glorious with sub-tropical balmy nights. We are grateful for the rainforest shade and the refreshing river waters during the hotter daytime hours. Within half an hour, the surf stretches are renown for the small crowd usually sharing its beaches. But it won't stay this way forever without the thoughtful efforts of locals and visitors combined. Regeneration and weeding preoccupies us all but with the rich rewards of a healthy, thriving native bush riparian zone. We encourage you to soak it up, relaxing, slowing down, treading lightly. Most of our neighborhood walk and cycle and we encourage all visitors to do the same. PARKING Plenty of onsite parking YOUR HOSTS A member of our family is home during your stay. We sleep over the far side of our property where we have our own bathroom and private living spaces. The layout of our treehouse means you can be social with your hosts, joining us in our north-facing Sunroom or outside on the skin overlooking the River -- or keep very much to yourselves! TELECOMMUNICATIONS Telstra works well here.. Our rural area is currently NOT serviced by high speed NBN. Download is also limited to each subscriber. Telstra works well for your smart phone internet use. Check any other mobile networks for their advised reception quality. CHILDREN NEED SUPERVISING And if you are bringing children, remember it is a treehouse and if you are coming here to relax, you need to feel confident and not have to worry about them! All children are different so we cannot really give advice but generally, most children are fine other than energetic and inquisitive toddlers! You are staying in a rural area. Be prepared (entirely unpredictable) for BUSH LIFE. OPTION TO COOK OVER LONG STAYS Before booking, discuss your interest in requesting access to our downstairs bush kitchen and bbq which can be shared/negotiated depending on your meal preferences/times. Or heat up your takeaway food in our microwave and retire to your River Room. Most guests are on vacation and like to buy from Bellingen's delicatessan, bakery or other cafe's, bringing home some basic snack and breakfast food - keeping things simple. Our vegetable and fruit garden also has fresh in season offerings. Help yourself.
Precious natural places, largely spared of suburbia let alone mining, are increasingly rare in the world. We are privileged to live in one of those neighborhoods. The Valley has coastal and hinterland national parks and also hosts special musical and cultural events including the River, Jazz and Readers&Writers Festivals and the new in 2015 was the Bello Winter Festival staged by the successful Mullumbimby Festival management team. The region is dubbed "Northern Rivers" because the district has so many river systems small and large meander through our valleys and coastal properties.
  • If you are looking for an unique, unforgettable, relaxing place surrounded by pure nature, you definitely should book the Treehouse!! We spent 3 nights there with our parents and we had the best and most relaxing time ever. It was so great to stay in and around the house that we actually changed our plans. We canceled a Nationalpark tour, because we felt, that there's no better place to be than the Treehouse. Also we canceled a planned dinner for the 60th birthday of my mom, because her wish was to stay "at home" and have a bbq. (When you see how well equipped the kitchen is and how amazing the grill-area, you would understand her!). We are already missing the stunning views, the lovely arranged rooms (or better wings!), the sound of the birds, the gorgeous Sunroom, the smell of orange-blossoms, the river with the crystal clear water, the Promised Land! If there is any chance to come back, we will!!! We thank Kirsty and her family for sharing such a wonderful place and we thank Kurly too, who showed us around and helped out with everything. Thank you!

    Sabine2012-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • I had a fantastic stay at Kirsty's beautiful treehouse. You really feel at one with nature when you sleep with the wall opened up and the location is really one of the best places in Australia. I loved what Kirsty and her family have done to create such a beautiful environment with all native plants and trees as well as some great local bush tucker which I was lucky enough to sample. If you are looking for a place to escape and feel the peace and tranquility of an area then I would definitely recommend coming to visit!

    Darren2014-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • The experience was several rungs beyond mere words and photographs. Sensory overload on every level. Entirely grateful. Kurly was extremely welcoming, comforting and has a unique mastery of the property. Huffy was a graceful gent who happily shared our bananas with a slow gnaw. This property is unbelievably inspiring. Already thinking about our return.

  • We had an incredible stay in the river room! Such a tranquil place, complementing the surrounding environment. Amazing architecture, you're guaranteed the perfect night sleep. Super tidy and all the amenities we needed were provided! Damian & Lynne (house sitters) were the perfect hosts! Giving us plenty of privacy yet, always nearby for help. They even went out of their way to help us with transport! A truly memorable experience. Thank you!

    Aaron2016-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a treat to relax in the trees in one of Australia's most enchanting landscapes! The architecture and care put into this place is breathtaking, and a swim in Never Never is up there with the worlds most refreshing dips. Our next trip will allow for more time spent on site here...

    Tully2016-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • What to say. Amazing stay, the wall of our Treehouse opening up to the sound of water running past as the birds nestled in and around our dwellings. Watch wild life , swimming in clear clean fresh water . It's so relaxing and our pets were made to feel at home. Perfect holiday

    Larn2016-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is paradise. We spent a magical 5 days here during the heatwave of summer 2017. Our days were spent swimming in the river, lazing in the beautiful gardens and reading in the spectacular River Room. Lynne and Damian were brilliant hosts/house sitters and Kirsty was fabulous in co-ordinating our visit from afar. I feel like I have walked out of a dream and hope we can return one day.

    Emma2017-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • We felt very welcomed and looked after by Kurly. Communication with both Kirsty and Kurly was straight forward and easy. They were very accommodating with an early check in. The room and other areas we used were very clean and the bed was lovely and comfortable. The room and house are in a stunning location on the Never Never creek. We would have loved time in the creek, bird watching and walking if not for consistent rain… This is a stunning part of Australia/the world, and the property is beautifully maintained. Loved the shower!

Luxury Accommodation with pool and spa, in the centre of Urunga, a quiet seaside town, just south of Coffs Harbour. A short walk to the beach and local rivers. Private entry via the side lane. Basic Breakfast items provided, inc Nespresso machine. Undercover parking.
It is Paraiso - paradise! Our stylish & comfortable one bedroom studio unit has a relaxed feeling. The villa is separate to the main house, and has private entry via a side lane. Although the pool and spa are shared with the house, the backyard is relatively private. Paraiso is fully self-contained. It has a dish-washer, full size fridge, hot plates, microwave and basic amenities with a Caesar stone topped kitchen. The lounge/bedroom area has an Italian leather twin reclining lounge, TV with DVD player, ipod dock station, comfortable queen size bed, with views over the pool through cedar shutters. There is a console table made from frozen Indian railway sleepers and stainless steel. This eating area and writing area overlooks the azure pool. The bathroom is exquisite. The shower area has two facilities - a rain-head and a hand held shower. A large window in the shower recess overlooks a water feature. Italian handmade floor tiles have been used throughout the unit. The unit is equipped with reverse air-conditioning. It is tastefully decorated with many paintings and artwork from Mexico and Northern Territory. There is an outdoor BBQ for the use of guests, with table and chairs beside the pool. It's an invitation to tranquility on the Coffs Coast.
Urunga has much to offer the visitor. There are several walks close to Paraiso that follow the river. The boardwalk is a 5 minute walk. This boardwalk is one of the longest in Australia. It connects the "city" and the surf! The rivers meet at Urunga before going out to sea. Anchors Wharf Cafe, on the river, opens at 8.00 each morning for breakfast, coffee or lunch. Dinner on some nights. Dorrigo national park has many beautiful rainforest walks. Bellingen is only 10 minutes by car. It offers a nostalgic step back to a peaceful town of cafés and gift shops. Coffs Harbour has the Big Banana and the Jetty Foreshores. You can walk along our beach to Hungry Head (only patrolled surf beach in Urunga) and further to Valla - but take a good picnic snack!
  • Denise helped me to organise a surprise 70th birthday present for my mum that allowed mum to stay in this great unit on the way to Christmas celebrations further down the coast. My mum and her partner didn't stop raving about it over Christmas so obviously a good time was had. They said it was immaculate and a bit disappointed that they didn't have time to try out the pool. Mum felt throughly spoilt so it was a great birthday/Christmas present. Thanks Denise for helping me to organise it and holding the booking for a few days so I could confirm when my mum would be travelling it was all very appreciated.

  • Absolute luxury.... This is the perfect place for a romantic getaway. There is a private entrance so you have absolute privacy. Was great that we could have our little dog stay with us too. We would highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be back! Denise is really lovely and had the apartment set out beautifully. We had coffee and cake at her cafe as we were leaving. The carrot cake is delicious I recommend that also!!!

  • Paraiso is a modern and stylish accommodation including a very well equiped bathroom with everything to feel comfortable including bathrobes. For relaxation there is a swimming-pool and even a whirlpool. We got a really good breakfast and we even could do some laundry. Denise and Steve are really helpful and generous host. It was easy and interesting to talk to them and they gave us many information and proposals for activities. We recommend to stay there very much.

    Maren2013-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Unreal experience. We didn't know much about Urunga; we mainly used the unit as a pitstop for our journey to Byron. Funnily enough, the pitstop trumped our Byron experience. We were even considering pulling out our cheque books to put down a deposit on the place - to treat it as a retirement house. This utopian dream unfortunately had a few holes: one, we're in our twenties and therefore not fit to retire; two, the place is not on the market, and three, we don't own cheque books. However, luck is on the traveller's side. Thanks to airbnb, we can all share this beautiful abode where one can wistfully ramble down the street and continue along a picturesque lagoon boardwalk. Hosts leave the key in the door - clearly non intrusive, yet very warm in the phone. Gracias.

  • We had a lovely stay at Paraiso. We would have loved to stay longer, but this time could not. The apartment is beautifully planned decorated and very comfortable. Breakfast was also thoughtfully left for us to enjoy. Denise was great in communicating with us even though she was overseas at the time. Will look forward to coming back one day.

    Lynnette2015-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little place with a very comfortable bed, functional kitchen and bright & modern bathroom. Uranga is only a few minutes stroll away with a pub, couple of grocery stores, cafés and dining options. Denise was very welcoming and allowed us to enjoy the lovely place. The fresh milk and bread was a nice touch.

    David2014-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Denise was extremely helpful and welcomed us into the beautiful apartment. The apartment was perfect equipped with everything you would need including towels, soaps, toothpaste, toothbrushes and a huge array dvds it was really a 5 star stay. We had access to the pool and spa which we did use and was amazing. The area is also beautiful we truly recommend staying here. We will be back!

  • Fantastic place to stay, only spent 1 night here on our way to Byron but could have easily spent another. The place is very modern with great attention to detail and perfect for a romantic getaway. We also very much enjoyed our breakfast at the cafe Denise and her husband own.

The Nutty bungalow is an elegantly fitted out converted shed on an organic Macadamia nut farm.. strolling distance to long quiet beaches ... On the same property as Hungry Head House (also listed here)..but quite separate .20 mins to Bellingen or Coffs.5 mins to Urunga ..
Embroidered linen over the silky oak 3 metre French doors, polished concrete floors and a white washed rendered open fireplace, gives this space a feeling of airy peace and loveliness...opening onto expansive grass and bush to stroll 800m to the beach ... The bungalow is comfy and calming.. With luxurious beds it is peaceful and snug. It is a studio style dwelling with a queen bed in the big main room where the fireplace is, two single Beds being in a separate bedroom . Feel free to spend time taking your fill of nuts in the orchard...watching kangaroos graze around the garden.. explore the wonderful things around this area.. A highchair is available and a portacot .. unlimited wifi if you need ... Sadly I have to specify a NO PARTY policy. Only guests agreed to be staying are to be there... Unless by prior discussion .
This area is peaceful and quiet..but being only 3 kms to highway and 6 kms to Urunga for groceries.. It is easy to feel connected, yet far from the madding crowd. 15 mins to Bellingen and 20 to Coffs Harbour. The people who choose to live here or spend time here do so for fine reason.... It's truly a quiet paradise...
  • Just as it says on the tin. Absolutely gorgeous location and we loved that the Kangaroos were there to greet us every evening. Friendly Kookaburras too. Enjoyed picking grapefruit for our breakfast each morning and the very conveniently placed lemon tree meant our evening gin and tonics were just so!

    carolyn2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent stay, the place is a true paradise, filled with kookaburras and kangaroos. We travelled with 2 children (aged 1,5 and nearly 4-years old) and Harriet was able to provide a portacot and high chair, thanks for that! Definitely recommend the place!

    Stijn2016-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Harriet is a great host. She was very accommodating with our late check in and responded to queries quickly. The place itself is great. Well equipped and large enough for a family of 4. Hidden off the highway it's quiet and a perfect place to relax. Macadamia pick was good fun too!

  • We had a fantastic stay at the Blue Beach Bungalow!!! We are a young family with a new bub and 2 dogs. The bungalow and property were great. So nice to be able to chill out and the house with a open fire and beautiful surrounds. Kangaroos literally every morning and afternoon! Also we loved the fact that the beach is 5 mins down the road for long beach walks all there way to hungry head!! with dolphin spotting! The house was clean, tidy and had the feeling that it was our home for the week. The owner was friendly and so great to deal with. Thanks Harriet! Totally stoked will definitely be back!

    Andy2015-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • An excellent location surrounded by nature. Close to the beach and the cute town of Urunga. Really enjoyed our stay. Very peaceful.

  • What a great place! Kangaroos grazing outside the front door - incredible. Peaceful, relaxing and beautifully presented. I'd love to return.

  • My partner and I had an amazing time at Harriet's bungalow. It was exactly how we imagined it and more. There was so much privacy, the set up was perfect and the beach was only a 5min walk. We absolutely loved our stay and our dog loved it too!

    Natasha2016-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the bungalow. Such a peaceful and beautiful spot in a bush setting but so close to the ocean. A short and scenic drive to Hungry Head Beach. Loved the kangaroos, birds and chickens. The bungalow is very comfortable and well set up. Great bathroom and kitchen. We would definitely recommend.

Ferry Cottage is centrally located within a 3 minute walk to the river, two cafes, and Anchors Wharf Restaurant. Walking distance to the beach, shops, clubs, restaurants, golf course, pub, and Boardwalk. Built in 1900 and lovingly restored, with wide verandahs and huge yard, graced by a massive Moreton bay fig and Hoop Pines. Ideal for a family holiday, a romantic getaway, or get together with friends, with room to park the caravan or boat. Well behaved smallish dog considered on application.
The house is quirky and charming, it has been freshly painted and renovated in a way that lets it keep its 117 year old character, with a cosy modern vibe. It is a work in progress and a labour of love. It is well equipped with a full kitchen with Ilve appliances, quiet ceiling fans are fitted in the main bedroom, dining and lounge, with funky retro style pedestal fans in the sunroom and bunk room. There is a wood burning stove for cooler nights. The dining room has a dock style music player that supports iPhones, and all devices via bluetooth or USB.
Urunga is a quiet seaside village where the Kalang and Bellinger rivers meet the sea. It has beautiful surf and swimming beaches and is perfect for kayaking, fishing and boating. There is also a 9 hole Golf course situated next to the river, and a couple of minutes walk from the cottage, and plenty of cycle paths. Urunga is a perfect midway stop between Sydney and Brisbane as the cottage is only 3 kilometers from the M1 (far enough away not to hear it). Walking distance from the cottage, the elevated Urunga Boardwalk travels over the estuary and through the mangroves to the beach where the Bellinger and Kalang rivers meet. 15 minutes drive away is the beautiful hippy hip town of Bellingen with its cool cafes, restaurants, shops, markets, music, and glorious river. Drive a further 25 minutes through Bellingen up the mountain to Dorrigo's World Heritage rainforest and its beautiful township. The house is walking distance to all that Urunga offers, and only 200 hundred metres to Liberty Providores, arguably the coolest new cafe and grocery shop on the Coast.
  • Tracie's house was very well located within walking distance to cafes and we had the best seafood basket near the river only minutes walk from the house. Tracie was a very good communicator and the house was beautifully styled and very comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches. We would love to stay here again

    Mary2017-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Whilst we didn't meet Tracie she was very easy to deal with & very accommodating of our plans which we appreciated greatly. Ferry Cottage really is a labour of love & has been beautifully & tastefully restored with plenty of space & is perfectly set up with everything one might need. The bed was a dream & the kitchen is very well appointed. The house is not far from the main road however both very private & very quiet. As we live in the bush I can honestly say it was a very peaceful space. There is a large yard with a stunning Moreton Bay Fig & the wraparound verandah provided plenty of opportunity to lounge around on. There is plenty to do in the area and retreating to this home each evening was an absolute pleasure. I highly recommend this home for anyone wishing to explore this part of the world with it's beautiful beaches & small town charm.

    Francesca2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Tracie for a lovely stay in your gorgeous cottage. My two little girls, my husband and I were super comfy and enjoyed the pot belly stove whilst I cooked dinner. Very recommended if you want a little Beach and a little Belligen.

    Hannah2017-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem! Impeccably revamped turn of the century cottage with a modern, cosy vibe. Gorgeous attention to detail such as linen sheets and lovely toiletries in an amazing bathroom, which made coming back from the beach something to look forward to. The cottage contained everything you could possibly need, including a nespresso machine and coffee plunger, as well as egg cups which were a delight to find. Very close to the most beautiful secluded beaches (Hungry Head and Valla), and not too far from Coffs Harbour which was our main destination. Tracie had some great suggestions re exploring the local establishments (Embers Pizza was great). Very welcoming hosts, who clearly take pride in their property. To be honest, the photos online don't do it justice!

You'll be staying in the top story of a 2 story house right on the Kalang River. The house features timber floors throughout, high ceilings, open plan living and a massive deck overlooking the Kalang River. There are 2 large bedrooms, a set of bunks at the back of the house and an extra queen size mattress is available to throw on the floor. We are right on the edge of Yellow Rock, over the river from Urunga on 1 1/2 acres. It's a fantastic spot for canoeing, cycling or visiting the beaches and hinterland of the Bellinger Valley. From Urunga beaches, to the valley's freshwater rivers and streams, up into the Dorrigo rainforest and tablelands, we really do live in the most beautiful part of the world here!
  • Fiona's place was lovely. The high ceilings and balcony surrounding was a highlight. Very confortable, newly renovated and clean. Fiona was extremely nice making us feel welcome and sample her awesome veggie garden. The location is great, great for fishing, short bike ride to the beach, great for running in the morning. We had a great time!!

  • We had a great stay at Fiona's place, which is a spacious, light, environmentally conscious house in a beautiful, quiet location. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony looking out at the Kalang River, walking along the river into town, and exploring heaps of great places around Urunga. Fiona wasn't around during our stay but her husband Ross was very helpful. Everything was very clean and the kitchen is well equipped for cooking too.

The walk-in robe is generous in size and doubles as an extra space for a cot if you are traveling with an infant. The loft above the bedroom has two king-single beds, a writing desk and daybed. The lounge-room which faces north is quite big and has comfortable leather lounges as well as a Smart Television and Apple TV. This space also has a small kitchen, with a fridge, microwave, single induction cooktop, (with a small frypan and pot), jug, toaster and a BBQ on the deck. There is also two decks - one off the bedroom and one off the lounge room. They both have comfortable timber chairs.
Miirlarl is surrounded by working Macadamia Farms and other small acreages, two large dams and Schnapper Beach nearby. Hungry Head SLSC is only a stones throw away also. The hamlet of Urunga is 7km north and Bellingen, Nambucca Heads, Dorrigo and Coffs Harbour are all between 20 -50 minutes away.
  • I was searching for a quiet, beautiful sanctuary to stay whilst exploring the Bellingen area and at Miirlal that's exactly what I enjoyed! Marina & Dave were simply wonderful hosts who let me know they were around in case I needed anything but also appreciated that I was ready for a 'get away'. Couldn't have asked for a more serene, bush setting and sumptuous accommodation. All the little things were taken care of; good quality food supplied for my breakfasts, sumptuous bathroom products (they even thought of including extras in, case a visitor forgot, like a toothbrush, deodorant and face cleanser) and plenty of local area information. The bath with a view was wonderful and even the rooster was a nice quiet boy...I slept so soundly. Fabulous beds! Thanks Marina, you know I'll be returning (hopefully before the end of the year) Cheers, Carol

  • We were a group of four just looking for a midway stop.on our way home to Brisbane. Our stay at Marina and Daves was more than a midway stop, it was indeed a sanctuary, as soon as we arrived until we rather reluctantly left our hosts and accommodation were just perfect, nothing was too much trouble. Spotlessly clean and comfortable, a luxury bathroom and a full breakfast thrown in it was perfection. We cannot wait to visit Marina and Dave again. Strongly recommend for those who want peace and tranquility in a bush setting and still be close to major towns/cities/beach

  • We loved the place, we love the hosts & the accommodation sets a standard that is very hard to beat.

  • Lovely home with awesome decorations from all over the world. Well-equipped kitchen with basic things for breakfast, fruit, coffee and tea. The view, especially from the bedroom is gorgeous! You do need a car to get around. If you get the chance visit Dorrigo National Park (the drive up there is amazing) and the boardwalk in Urunga. Bellingen is a nice place for lunch although it's mostly elder people and hippies.

  • What a amazing place we just stayed ! I would say that it is definitely the best airbnb that I've had so far. Secluded location is just right into the forest. The first thing that you would see is loads of lush green native trees when you open the glass door. Decoration of the room is really artistic. If you have simple and meaningful taste for art, you will find something resonate with yourself. I highly recommend people to give a go. Marina and Dave are really kind, welcoming and helpful with all the tips.

    Tuo2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The 'room' at Marina's is actually a whole wing of the house, so the space is huge, light and very comfortable. Marina and David were wonderful hosts and nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend their place as a base to explore this beautiful region. Just a note: they do live about 10mins out of town so you'll definitely need a car.

    Andrea2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • The best Airbnb experience we've had yet. Marina and Dave were great hosts and the room was spacious, private and clean. We would definitely recommended a visit here as Urunga is a great place.

A large room is available in an airy, modern house set among bushland out of town. Pristine beaches are a walk away. The room has a queen size double bed and doors that open on to a verandah. There is the possibility of booking a large room with two single beds instead. Both can be available to extend the accommodation to 4 people. Please contact us if this is an option you are interested in. We will assume all bookings are for the room with a queen size bed unless we are told otherwise. The rooms are in an open plan house with guest bathroom. There is a sun room which looks out over the large bushland garden. There is an artists printmaking and painting studio in the grounds with printing presses. Kangaroos and wallabies visit the garden and the sound of birds and the ocean are ever present. We have inquisitive chickens roaming the grounds in the afternoon. There is covered parking and we are classic car friendly and touring motorbike friendly. The owner is a club member in both cases. We have a barbeque under cover. The location is halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, 7 kms south of the nearest town. There is easy access from the Pacific Highway. We can pick up from the local station on the Sydney-Brisbane line if required. The airport is 25 minutes drive away. The area is popular in the tourist season and offers pristine beaches, fishing, water-sports, swimming, surfing, and kite surfing. The nearby pretty town of Bellingen is known for its cafes and restaurants. A short drive into the mountains brings you to Dorrigo. Well known for the spectacular drive along Waterfall Way. This road is loved by bikies and car enthusiasts. There is a rainforest walk at Dorrigo. Train fans will find a large number of old steam locos there to photograph. The host is internationally known artist, printmaker and illustrator and there is original artwork on the walls. Home cooked Japanese meals are available with some notice. The house is in a setting where nature dominates. The trees are 30 to 50 meters high and birdsong abounds. Our constant companions are kangaroos, wallabies, kookaburras, colourful parrots and scores of other types of birds. You can hear the surf crash in the distance and the sea breeze keeps the house cool. Vents in the very high ceilings in the main house catch the breeze. The beach is a short walk away. The walk home is uphill all the way and most people drive to the headland and save their walking for the pure sands and waters of the beach itself.
  • We had a lovely time with David & Kiomi who opened their home and hearts to us. Very generous and interesting people made for great dinner conversation. Lovely walk to beach which was mostly deserted. Beautiful!

  • David greeted us on our arrival and made us welcome into his spacious and visually inspirational home set amongst beautiful tall trees. Our large bedroom and the bathroom were clean and comfortable. David is a very interesting, knowledgeable, artistic and well travelled person who we found very easy to talk to. Veronica enjoyed an early morning swim at the beach, which is only a short drive away. We were even able to do some washing. The location was convenient for our travel requirements. We highly recommend this homestay.

  • David and Kyomi are lovely hosts. We really enjoyed staying at their lovely, beautiful and quiet house. The entire house is a Gallery of Art. The bedroom is huge, bright and comfy. We had our own beautiful bathroom. Everything is very clean and well-decorated. On the morning, we had a delicious breakfast on the deck with a wonderful view on the bush. We had great talks and they gave us good advice on the things to see in the area. We even could visit David's studio. Their house is very well located, only a few minutes drive from Nambucca heads and Urunga (where there is a lovely boardwalk). We highly recommend to stay with David and Kyomi as we'll take good care of you.

  • We absolutely loved staying here. David was a perfect host greeting us with home-baked bread and a tour of his fabulous studio. The living room has a floor to ceiling picture window out onto the bush - so serene. And Urunga is a sublime spot to explore. We will definitely be coming back. Amanda

  • It's such a beautiful open plan house surrounding the Bush and wildlife and being so close to the beach is a great thing to have. Thank you for your hospitality and you have made our stay a pleasant one. I had an opportunity to witness beautiful artwork on display around the house and visited his studio. I really enjoyed our time there!

  • Lovely house in the bush and very comfortable room. David and his wife are very hospitable. The offered meal was a welcome as an end to the day of driving as well as delicious. We rally enjoyed the tour of David's studio. Staying near Urunga was perfect for us and this airbnb was exceptionally good value. We would stay there again.

  • Staying with David and Kiyomi has been a pleasure! We stayed there for three nights and it could not have been better.. They were both extremely welcoming and helpful. David picked us up from the Urunga coach terminal and took us to Bellingen, which is a beautiful little town.. Kiyomi's chicken Teriyaki was truly amazing and after dinner we would sit together and have lovely long talks with them. The house is beautiful, clean and located in a wonderful area.. thank you for sharing this little piece of paradise with us, we would certainly return!

  • My dad and I stayed at Sandra and Mark's place just for one night and had a lovely time! The flat was brand new and very well thought out; fully equipped with everything we could have possibly needed! Sandra and Mark were lovely, and we really enjoyed spending time over a couple of drinks with them on the balcony, looking over their stunning view! We would definitely stay again and would recommend to others!

  • John & Vicki are so easy going. The communication from the start was fantastic which made the booking process run smoothly. Such a beautiful couple with a beautiful kabana. The place has everything you'll ever need - it's basically a home away from home. We stayed there for 2 nights & they provided us with delicious continental breakfasts. The location is very central - a few minutes drive to Coffs Harbour, Dorrigo & Bellingen. If you're looking for an alternative home for a few days, minus the seasonal crowds of the Coffs Coast, this Urunga kabana is the place to be. John & Vicki are hosts you will remember for life. They have a lot of travel stories to tell so make sure you find time to get to know them & swap tales. You might even get a fabulous itinerary idea for your next trip.

  • The Kabana was located in a really lovely and surprisingly convenient location. I only stayed for a night, but had a pleasant experience while I was there. The house was clean, well furnished, and breakfast being provided was really awesome and made for a very cosy feel. Thanks Vicki and John!

  • My boyfriend and I stayed at the Kabana for a week. John and Vicki were such wonderful hosts, very approachable and friendly while still giving us space to enjoy our time alone. The place is much larger than the pictures give credit for. It was a beautiful location for us to get away from the busy city lives we normally both lead. Many thanks to John and Vicki for our wonderful holiday.

  • Lovely property - right near the Dorrigo rain forest and waterfall way - both are must do's when in the area! Our first trip to Australia and this was a great 2 day stop. We just loved the privacy of the Kabana and John and Vicky's hospitality! The pictures show how clean and pretty the apt was but it doesn't show just how large the apt is - very spacious and enough area for 4 adults.

  • COMFY BED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Accomodation Better than 4.5 star!! Lovely hosts. Great view. Private. Spa brilliant. Great pool. Big room. Lots of extras provided. No need to bring anything. Coffee and plunger, biscuits, yogurt, huge fruit platter and lots of milk provided. Cereals and a plethora of teabag options too!! You will want for nothing! And you will not want to leave. But you will have to leave because I want to stay there again! Unbelievably awesome!! I cant say enough good things about their Luxury Kabana. I needed a break and both Viki and John accommodated my request. You will not see your hosts much as they give you the privacy you want but are happy to help you in any way they can. Even letting us know that there were whales heading up the coast. My 7year old loved the pool and my 10m old Labrador had her own yard and huge kennel. Viki and John provide Luxury at a small price. Loved it!! You will not regret choosing this accomodation. The spa is on all day and is always hot.

Beautiful and Spacious handbuilt sandstone house. 4bedroom 2bathroom 2lounge fully equipped family home. Lovely bush setting on organic acres with total privacy, walk (1km) to quiet beaches. Easy reach to Coffs Harbour Airport, Urunga railway station, Pacific Highway. A few minutes drive to lovely Urunga township.
Acres of lovely bush near the beach make this place unique
Perfect climate most of the time, close to everything we need but totally secluded. Beautiful hinterland, Dorrigo national park an hours drive and Bellingen township only 15 minutes. The beach is gorgeous but not patrolled, patrolled beach at the next headland - surf club at Hungry Head. Lots of festivals, different cultures, variety of restaurants within reach, space and nature what more could we want?
  • We had a great time with a group of 8 at this secluded family home. There was plenty of room for the 2 couples and 4 singles. It was very quiet and relaxing.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Helen's house. Whilst only 10 minutes from Urunga and a few minutes from the beach, the house is very secluded and quiet. The home is spacious and well equipped. There are lots of kangaroos in the area which my kids loved. They also loved feeding the chooks! Although Helen was away at the time, her instructions were very clear. Thanks Helen :)

  • We had a wonderful few days at Helen's place with a large group of family. There was plenty of space for kids and dogs to run around and lots of activities to keep them occupied. For the adults we found It the perfect place to relax and unwind. We took a few trips down to the beach in the car which was great for the dogs too. The house itself was so well equipped and full of all of the comforts from home we needed. Thank you to Helen for being such a wonderful and accommodating host. We would highly recommend this place and hope to one day return.

  • The house was absolutely beautiful and possibly even nicer than the photos show. It is roomy and easily housed the 6 adults in our family over Christmas. The Christmas tree and decorations were a lovely touch. We were greeted on arrival by 2 kangaroos outside the carport and were entranced watching them each day grazing on the lawn. The house is in a quiet and secluded area, but is close to the beach and only a 10 minute drive to Urunga. Helen was in contact before we arrived and left phone numbers and information for any questions we had. Loved the free and fast internet and Apple tv. The stone work in the house is amazing. I would love to stay at the house again and wish we could have stayed longer.

    David2015-12-27T00:00:00Z

Private, comfortable and fully equipped cabin retreat, perfectly suited to outside and inside living. Private garden with sunset views over the Bellinger river and a spacious front veranda overlooking national state forest. 3 mins to beach by car.
The cabin is a truly lovely space to be. It feels like home, but has everything you need for a relaxing and indulgent break away from everyday life. A spacious covered veranda looks out over majestic coastal bushland, with an abundance of native bird and wildlife, and features a table setting where you can greet the day with the birds, or enjoy the evening light with a glass of wine before dinner. At the rear of the cabin you have an attractive river stone patio, with your own 2 burner BBQ and table setting. Beyond is your own private west-facing lush green garden that overlooks the Bellinger river and the stunning sunsets over the mountains beyond. The interior is like a home away from home. Your separate bedroom contains a wonderfully comfortable queen bed with built in robes, drawers and extra bedding if needed. An electric blanket is provided to ensure cosy winter nights. Sliding doors connect the bedroom to the rear patio and the lovely garden and river views beyond. You have a spacious separate bathroom with a large shower, vanity and the same beautiful views over the river. There is also a front loading automatic washing machine and a clothes line in your garden. The kitchen, which is fully equipped with high quality appliances, has been designed for people who love to cook and eat. You even have a fresh herb garden under the kitchen window! Ceiling fans in both main rooms keep this well-insulated cabin cool in the summer, while a high quality gas convection heater will keep you warm on winter nights. The living area is open plan with a breezy dining area and comfortable living room, both with full length sliding glass doors that open on to the the front verandah and the bushland beyond. The accommodation is perfectly suited for a peaceful retreat for one, a romantic getaway for two, or can accommodate up to four if needed. In the living area there is a double futon, a wide screen television and blue ray DVD There is also a music system with iPhone 5 and USB connections for your own music collection. You have free wi fi connection through my house modem and password will be provided when you arrive.
This is one of the most beautiful areas on the North coast. You are a few minutes walk from the Bellinger river and 3 minutes by car from a long and often nearly deserted ocean beach with many resident dolphins and whales in the migration season. The river grows its own delicious oysters, purchasable from a nearby oyster hut at very reasonable prices. I will provide a shucking knife! Opened oysters and wonderful local fish and prawns available from a fish shop 5 minutes drive away. It is a very popular fishing spot with ocean and river fishing easily accessible. A great little cafe and shop opposite the river with netted swimming area offers coffee, local cakes,ice-cream, fish and chips, light meals and essentials such as milk, bread, eggs and fishing equipment. It is also a Post Office. There are a number of lovely small towns nearby, including Bellingen, which is a 12 minute car drive away. Bellingen is a laid-back, tree-lined town set in the lush valley beside the Bellinger River, who's rich architectural heritage, rural charm, gourmet food scene and cultural celebrations such as their annual Jazz Festival, has made the town a popular destination. Also nearby is Sawtell, a typically Australian beach town with stunning beaches and rock pools, great coffee shops and boutique bars - not to mention the best fish and chips in the area. I would be happy to point you in the right direction for the best places to try.

  • A perfect place for a getaway... The days melted into one another as we explored the beautiful national parks in the area, birdwatched from the hammock, swimmed in water holes, fished off the Myestom jetty, and bbqed as the sun went down. This is a really beautiful part of the world. Gail's place is very relaxing and cosy, nestled in a gorgeous bush setting with river views; and Gail's hosting superb- with excellent communication and generous loan of her bread maker! We loved our holiday. Try to stay for 5 nights like we did to really get the most out of surrounding parks and little towns. Highly recommended.

  • Repton is a small community amongst bushland and close to lots of great beaches. There's no shops here so you need to come with supplies- Gail provided good advice on shopping and restaurants. The cabin is well appointed and very comfortable. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the verandah looking in to the bush and dinner on the lawn looking over the river and sunset. Gail was very welcoming and helpful.

The Pines- a 1930's federation cottage built by Mr Johnson.
This two story home has 3 bedrooms upstairs which are perfect for 3 couples. There is enough floor space to put a port-a-cot out if any kids needs to sleep closer to the folks. It is also a brilliant base for a fishing trip, corporate retreat or group getaway as it can sleep so many people.
We know most of the street who are a friendly bunch who will wave and ask you how you are as though they know you. If you are from Sydney this may be a little odd for a day or two then you will embrace it.
  • We had a great stay with a group of 10 friends in Mylestom. The house is big and spacious with lots of space for entertaining. It's also a short walk to the river, beach and general store. Great place for a relaxing getaway from the city.

  • James was amazing easy to deal with, and quick to respond. The house was amazing, fully kitted out in a stunning location that I wouldn't know existed if we hadn't found it on airbnb. We would recommend the house and wouldn't hesitate to come back.

So much to do and see! Our property is only a minutes walk to 10km long patrolled beaches with 4wd access for beach and rock fishing. Also only a five minute walk to the magnificent Bellinger river for some great river fishing, canoeing, sailing and waterskiing. Nearby is a large bowling club with two restaurants and a tasty corner shop for all your dining needs without having to drive anywhere! Our large modern house has a heated in ground pool with a great entertaining area and five bedrooms.

  • Lovely, comfortable place. Wished we could have stayed longer.

  • Great little house. The owner is nice and relaxed about animals. It's a very chilled house with comfy beds. Lovely linen and really clean. Great for older kids. The main bedroom is huge and adjoins the bathroom with its own Telly and a little area to sit which was ideal for my elderly mum. :)

  • The Beach house was wonderful. So close to the beach but still lovely and quiet, with lovely friendly neighbours. We saw whales and dolphins each day we were at the beach. The kitchen was very well equipped and it was nice to have milk in the fridge so we could walk straight in and have a cuppa and watch the wildlife wander through the yard. We didn't want to leave.

  • Thanks Barbara for a wonderful stay at your home at the beautiful and surprising Mylestom!! We very much appreciated the wonderful welcome to your lovely and quaint home, thank you for those little extras they were much appreciated. The house was perfect, clean, and very well equipped with everything you would need for your stay. We loved being only a 2 minute walk to both the river and the beach. We visited both often and our kids loved fishing off the jetty at the river. As already mentioned in reviews, there is a general store just down the road, and the Bowls/Recreation Club is just a short drive and lovely, the Chinese the best we have ever tasted. We did enjoy meals at the house and loved sitting outside on the deck watching the bush turkeys, lizards, and other wild life. We stayed in Mylestom as we couldn't obtain accommodation in Coffs Harbour to attend an Oztag tournament, but we are so glad that we stayed at "The Beach" instead. It was only a 15 minute drive, no traffic lights the whole way. This is a little piece of heaven in Mylestom, and we cannot wait to return for another holiday now that we have stumbled across it. We couldn't recommend staying here more, and Barbara was so helpful and always very prompt in replying to us and keeping us updated of our stay. Enjoy! Suzanne and Family

  • OMG, no words can capture the magic of Myletsom and this house is perfect. Watch the sunrise on the beach (the house is on the beach) and watch the sunset on the Bellenger river (2 min walk), this place has the power to make you feel truly alive and if you want a holiday and are reading this, look no further and be prepared to fall in love. The house itself, you can tell is loved. No photos can capture how perfect it is. Everything is in the perfect place and it actually feels like a second home for me. Even after my first visit (I go as often as I can - any my partner and I take our dogs, which we let loose on the beach every morning and night). Before I found this magical place I used to travel around, now I have found this little safe haven, this is where I go, whenever I need to escape, refresh, and get inspired about life again. Thank you Barbara, for sharing your treasure.

  • This place is absolute bliss, my wife, four young children, 11 month old cavoodle and I stayed for ten nights. The host was great and answered all the questions we had, house was perfect, so clean and the location was amazing = 2 minute walk to the beach, kids park, river and general store which makes a great coffee. We will be back next year.

    Evan2017-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the beach house for three nights, with permission of the owner our family dog travelled with us. Even before our holiday started we felt welcomed by the easy communication with our Airbnb host. Once we arrived we noticed the wonderfully thoughtful touches through out the spacious and well presented accommodation. We arrived in late evening so didn't see the beauty of the local area until next morning. The two decks gave amble options for our morning cuppa and a tranquil bush setting the peace and quiet we sort. Our dog enjoyed the walks along the river and watching the bush turkeys from the deck. Great spot, will visit again - when time permits.

Comfortable 2 bedroom house on acres, opening to large N & W facing verandahs with expansive views, surrounded by rivers & mountains. It is close to Bellingen CBD and a variety of beautiful beaches are only 10 - 20 mins drive away. There are wonderful restaurants, bush walks, canoeing, & vibrant weekend markets nearby.
The Green House on the Hill is 16km from Dorrigo NP and the waterfalls begin along the way and onward toward Armidale. The house has a relaxed family feel and is located in the luscious Bellingen Shire only 5 mins out of town. Share a BBQ on the balcony overlooking the valley & mountains. The Bales is a cute little character cottage set on five acres on the Bellinger river. Long ago it used to be the milking station on our heritage-listed property on the coast, 12 minutes away from the sweet little village of Bellingen. It is very comfortable with a peaceful, rural outlook.
The Bales is a separate, fully self contained, small, one bedroom cottage. It shares five acres, by the river with our 130 year-old house where we live, but is completely independent of our house. It has a very comfortable queen bed with quality linens and is best suited for two people. However, there is also a sofa bed in the lounge room if you have a couple of extras to squeeze in. The bedroom is quite large and there is a single bed in addition to the queen size bed. The gas kitchen is well equipped with full stove, oven, microwave, small espresso machine, coffee grinder and sandwich press. The Bales has unlimited WIFI, a washing machine, flat screen TV, DVD player, DVD,s, books, extra blankets, fans, gas and electric heating, some games and a good, strong, hot shower to wash off the salt and sand after a day at the beach or a hike in the rain forest. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking essentials like olive oil, garlic, salt pepper etc, plus we usually stock basics like pasta and spaghetti sauce in the cupboard to provide a quick meal at the end of a long drive, if needed. As much as possible, everything we provide for you is locally produced and organically grown.
We are 12 minutes out of town, towards the coast. Bellingen offers warm, friendly cafes , the local Brewery (hidden in the carpark behind The Federal Hotel), good restaurants, healing spa (Alchemy) and excellent massage and acupuncture therapists, some fun shopping and the best gelato shop ever. A short drive takes you to The Promised Land for a picnic and swim in the healing waters of The Never Never. Then head up the mountain for lunch at the historic town of Dorrigo and an afternoon walk through the amazing rain forest. Or you could head 20 minutes north from us to Coffs Harbour for family fun at Tabatinga, whale watching cruises, shopping, dining out at the Jetty , The Big Banana, ice skating and the cinema. We are also 20 minutes from the airport and five minutes from sea-side Urunga with its beautiful 1km boardwalk over the mangroves to the ocean, followed by a definite date with some fish and chips on the Lido. Urunga also has a fabulous wood fired oven, family Italian restaurant called Embers. The beachside village of Sawtell is 15 mins away and offers a selection of great eateries.
  • My girlfriend and I could only stay for one night but it was such a lovely place to spend it. The Bales is a really amazing little treasure that I'm glad we stumbled across. Sarah & her husband were warm & receptive people that were a pleasure to chat with. We especially loved being given fresh eggs from Sarah's chooks & being greeted by the friendly dogs whenever we arrived back.

  • Sarah and Charlie made us feel right at home. Sarah would have to be one the friendliest hosts ever!! She gathered veggies from the garden and cheese from her own pantry so we could put together a meal in the evening after we decided not to go out. The accommodation and all facilities were very relaxing which is what we needed after a long drive. The place felt very "at home" . Loved the dogs and chickens!!

  • Sarah and her husband welcomed us at the car as soon as we pulled into their driveway. Cosy quiet accommodation and lovely supplies left for our anniversary breakfast. We only stayed the one night but did explore the local sights that were recommended. The Bales is well worth trying out.

    Vicki2015-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The Bales is in a charming rustic rural setting with the accommodation being very comfortable and homely with lots of little extras. The chooks, sheep and rabbit added to the relaxing atmosphere. Sarah and Charlie were welcoming and their info folder was very helpful for great places to eat and visit.

  • My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wished we had booked for longer. The Bales is a fantastic peaceful place to stay. Sarah was an excellent host with a wealth of knowledge on the local places to visit. Urunga boardwalk was awesome. My son particularly enjoyed seeing the friendly cows, chickens, sheep around the property and the night sky was amazing. Sarah had the Bales well appointed with quite a few added extras in the kitchen not normally supplied. We will be back!

  • Wow what an amazing cottage. This place ruled! It had everything we could possibly want for a warm and cozy night in. The farm surrounding the property is perfect for exploring and there's this amazing tree beside the cottage which is perfect to sit under. Sarah was a lovely host and full of info about the area. I wish we'd booked for a few more nights, hopefully we'll be able to return soon. Seb & Caitlin

  • The Bales, a perfect first stay via Airbnb, a completely enjoyable and memorable experience. The misty views across the paddocks in the morning, the most comfortable bed ever, the delicious organic breakfast ingredients, the innumerable beautiful small touches designed to make us feel at home....perfect. As for the hosts..... they are exceptional! Sarah and Charlie could not have been friendlier or more welcoming and available, and that is the icing on the cake here. I recommend this gorgeous rural oasis and its delightful hosts wholeheartedly and can't wait to return. Say hi to Koko and the chooks!

Perfect place for Hen's get away, birthdays, etc
Very private. No traffic noise or neighbourhood noise. Close to Urunga, Sawtell, Bellingen, Nambucca Heads and Coffs Harbour.
  • The description was accurate and we were given easy directions. Daphne answered all my questions before our trip and was very obliging for our specific requests.

  • Daphne was a wonderful and accommodating host, the property exceeding expectations. Located close to wineries, beaches, majestic waterfalls and forest, fishing opportunities, and more – plenty to do around, but a car almost mandatory for these short trips. Daphne and her caretaker friend were able to provide suggestions on places to visit and some friendly conversation, without being obtrusive. Photos of the property reflect accurately the modern facilities on a charming country homestead, peaceful and away from the city humdrum and rat race. Our self-contained apartment was presented clean and fresh, with plenty of space available. Pool (and spa on request) facilities were available and well-maintained, as was a pool table, and other amenities listed. Internet was high-speed. Products provided were premium, and beach towels were appreciated. At all times we felt comfortable and secure. Great value all-in-all!

  • We stayed at Daphne's self contained apartment during Australia Day long weekend. The is a clean, beautiful, very quiet and spacious enough place for a couple and small baby like us. Our loft is a cosy, comfortable, private and beautiful space where you can feel far away from the city with the sound of birds, cows and the river to wake you in the morning. Take a relaxing walk on the nearby beach which can be reached in 3-4 minutes' drive; visit a rainforest or the townships of Bellingen, Coffs Harbour or Urunga which are all only short drives away.
This character-filled Loft is a completely private space for two adults, accessed by stairs at the rear of a mud brick building. The bathroom is in a small hexagonal yurt at the rear of the building and is brand new. The Loft has a queen sized bed, digital TV, DVD player, an electric fan, air-conditioning, radio, writing desk, a sofa, umbrellas and a small kitchen with a dining area downstairs. Guests have access to the loft, their own bathroom, their own basic kitchen with bar fridge, double electric hotplate, pots and utensils, toaster, electric kettle and a dining area. There is also small private deck and there is easy parking. The Loft is situated in a quiet, no-through road next to the river and great fishing spots. WiFi is available on the host's verandah. The Loft is located in a quiet, peaceful rural area and is incredibly green with abundant birdlife and tall trees. There are lovely views of the river and Bellinger Valley from the garden. The closest beach and cafe/shop/post office are only a few minutes drive away at Mylestom. There's a 15-20 minute drive to Bellingen, Urunga or Sawtell and 25 minutes to Coffs Harbour. The hosts may be able to pick up guests from Urunga train station/bus terminal or from Coffs Airport by arrangement. There is a bus service. Catch buses from the end of the street to local towns. This is a great area for cycling. A car is the best way to get around. The Loft is next to the Bellinger River and its Valley farms with a backdrop of the Dorrigo mountains. We are minutes to miles of unspoilt and often deserted beaches; Bellingen's cafes, craft shops and verandah-post buildings; Bellingen markets on the third Saturday of each month; Dorrigo National Park World Heritage Area Rainforest walks; the beautiful Never Never River picnic spots and swimming holes; Urunga where there's a lovely boardwalk over rivers and lagoon to the ocean. Coffs Harbour, 25 mins north, is a modern city with many shops, a hospital and amenities including cinemas, ten-pin bowling and a theatre. There is an airport at Coffs Harbour with regular flights especially from Sydney. Trains and Greyhound buses stop at Urunga daily. If you are travelling by car, the Pacific Highway is only 2 kilometres away. There is a daily bus for schools during the week and a regular bus service to local towns. Use of a car is preferable.
We live in a short old-fashioned street beside the Bellinger River. The garden overlooks the river and the farmland of the Bellinger Valley beyond to the mountains of the New England Plateau. Nearby we have take-away or dine in pizzas or Chinese at the Bowling Club or at the corner shop by the beach (3 mins drive) you can get good coffee or fish and chips, hamburgers etc. There are plenty of activities: walking or just enjoying the local beaches and boardwalk or the National Park Littoral Rainforest, kayaking or boating is available on the river. You can discover the wildlife, tall trees and vines in the World Heritage Rainforest at Dorrigo or visit the nearby towns of Bellingen, Coffs Harbour, Sawtell and Urunga where there are plenty of shops, restaurants and other things to do and see.
  • Beautiful cosy and secluded stand-alone cottage with great atmosphere and amenities. Tucked away in the rainforest next to the river and only 20mins from the heart of Coffs. We had wonderful weekend away relaxing at the cottage and exploring the Coffs coast. Would recommend. Thanks Patricia!

  • Pat and Bruce welcomed us on arrival which was nice as we didn't get in until late. The neighbourhood was quiet, with beautiful river views. The cabin was beautiful! More space than we anticipated, very clean, and had everything we needed for a cosy weekend away.

  • I loved my one week stay here. Everything was wonderful here from the nature views, walks along the river frontage, the natural wood theme of the room and very comfy bed, not to mention the glass stained windows, beautiful to wake up to in the morning and look at the sun shining through. Atmosphere that you would never get from a hotel. Pat and Bruce were excellent hosts, very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Repton itself is very picturesque, rolling hills, river and the beach and friendly helpful people.

    Glenda2015-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Many thanks to Pat and Bruce for the warm welcome to their unique accommodation. They really are great hosts, and their hand-made mud brick-and-wood loft is an extension of their warmth and care. The loft is a beautiful space set in a lovely private garden that is amply furnished with all you need for your stay. It was a pleasure to wake up to natural light filtering through the leadlight windows, gentle bird sounds and the beautiful trees out every window and door. In fact, the combination of light, trees and breeze gives the loft an airy spaciousness that 'brings the outside in', making you forget this is a loft. In fact, my partner and I started referring to it as 'the treehouse'! A kitchenette downstairs was handy even if we didn't really get to use it, and the bathroom is a private, spacious room with great fittings and more beautiful leadlighting. It's hard to convey the joy we got from staying at Pat and Bruce's garden 'treehouse'. Our time was short but very sweet, and our memory will stay fresh until the next time we get to come this way and stay again!

    Dean2015-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first experience of the northern NSW coast - and we couldn't have wished for a more imaginative holiday 'bolt-hole' or kinder hosts from which to venture into the sheer beauty of this coast and hinterland. If you appreciate a creative, artistic environment, in harmony with the incredible forest/river/surf landscape, and full of unique and quirky details - then this 'Loft' is for you. Its quiet location, but with easy access to any of the coast's favourite townships and National Parks, adds convenience to pleasure. A little effort is required to hop up and down the steps between bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen facilities are fairly basic - but you will get fresh flowers on your breakfast table! Happy to recommend Pat and Bruce and their imaginative accommodation.

    Avril2016-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia and Bruce made us feel very welcome, in their lovely chalet. It was very clean and comfortable. I had very restful sleep, and waking up with the sounds of different birds was great. They live in this beautiful area by the river, it was raining a lot, but we still got to enjoy the area. It's a great base if you want to explore the beaches and the mountains. Very close to Bellingen and Dorrigo National Park. We enjoyed a lot going for dinner on the beach close by – Sawtell. We'd be back for sure!

  • Our family of four (with two teens) loved this location. Ann, our host, was so welcoming and introduced us to all the delightful and friendly animals. Horses, chickens, dogs. And we were left some fresh eggs in the fridge too. Each morning we woke to a gorgeous, elevated view of the property and dam. There are a great number and variety of birds to appreciate and one highlight for us ... fire flies in early evening. We found so much to do. Nambucca and Valla Beach were great. Particularly the boardwalks and wooden bridges. Spoilt for choice at Valla Beach with two cafes offering great food and coffee. Our favourite was the Headland Cafe. The chalet has lots of little corners for family members to find some quiet time alone. We spent 6 nights there and still got along with each other at the end. We could easily have spent more time and hope to be back.

  • Ann has a beautiful place and is such a gracious host. Our time there was so fun and relaxing. I would recommend Ann's place to anyone looking for some r&r in a tranquil setting. We'll definitely be repeat customers. Thanks Ann.

  • Our stay with Ann and Errol was fantastic. Our only disappointment was that we only had one night! The cottage is gorgeous with high ceilings and a covered balcony room from which to admire the beautiful view across the dam. The kids loved jumping on the trampoline, feeding the horses and visiting the hens that gave us some eggs for breakfast! Ann took the kids around the property in the morning to see the animals which they loved. Great hosts and great property. Highly recommended.

  • Beautiful property right on the Bellinger River. Jody and Daniel welcomed me immediately, and made the stay incredibly enjoyable. I was completely undisturbed in my private room, yet Jody and/or Daniel were always available and very hospitable (even serving me breakfast). Their dog Polly is super friendly and has a lot of personality. I would without a doubt like to have a another longer stay at this property and I'd highly recommend it to anybody travelling to the Bellingen area. Thank you for a great weekend guys!

  • Jody and Daniel were friendly and welcoming hosts who accommodated us at the last minute. They have a gorgeous home in a beautiful spot, and our room was great. Clean, generous and comfy with some thoughtful little extras like water, magazines and toiletries. We arrived just in time for one of Daniel's sunset canoe tours which was a highlight. We were also treated to breakfast on the terrace - croissants and coffee with the most incredible view. Best way to start the day! Thanks Jody and Daniel for your hospitality. We loved our stay.

  • Jody & Dan's beautiful converted church home was the perfect place to hide away, relax and base ourselves for a few nights. Close to Bellingen town which is filled with awesome cafes, shops and restaurants, and a short drive to Sawtell surf beach for some friendly waves. Huge shared kitchen perfect for cook ups, and a spacious deck with a river view for chilled out meal times. We were made to feel completely at home, and Adam who was helping out was a friendly face to chat to as well. Highly recommend!!!!

Big timber slab and mud brick handcrafted open plan house with vast verandas & beautiful bathhouse,on acres with organic macadamia orchard with many kangraoos.. Pool to enjoy... Walk to Hungry Head beach. 20 mins to Bellingen, 20mins to Coffs Harbour, 5 mins to Urunga. The Nutty Bungalow (also listed here) is on the same property but private and separate from each other .
Handmade solid timber and mud brick house with Japanese joinery a focus.Lush acres by gorgeous beaches.... House is snug with wood for wood stove provided. There is also gas and electric cooking. Airy , light space gives such calmness to this house. There is a portacot available on request and a highchair ( on request ). Sadly.. I have to specify a NO PARTY policy . Only guests agreed to be staying are to be there.. Unless by prior discussion ... A small inground pool has been built this year.
The neighbourhood is peaceful , yet close to fun towns and lots to do.....many day trips surrounding to World Heritage National Parks and 15 minutes to Bellingen .. 5 minutes to Urunga and 20 minutes to Coffs Harbour ...
  • Harriet prepared her fabulous house with an attention to detail that we very much appreciated. The layout was perfect for rain or shine and we had lovely times with the family relaxing on the wide verandas. Although we didn’t meet Harriet, communication was excellent and everything went very smoothly. Thanks Harriet – we’ll be back.

  • We had a wonderful three nights at Hungry Head House. The setting, the wildlife and birds, the feeling of seclusion while being near so many spectacular places to explore - all fabulous. The house itself feels beautifully hand crafted and tranquil, and that outdoor bath will be in my dreams back in the city! Harriet was a great communicator and made us feel so welcome, although we didn't meet personally.

  • I can't explain how beautiful this place is - from the moment you arrive, there's a feeling of calm and relaxation. Outstanding communication from booking to check out. 5 stars!

  • Hattie was very easy communicate with and held clear instructions. My family enjoyed our one night stay in Urunga. The house is defiently an experience but beautiful. The two rooms were joined by a curtain and the third could only be accessed by outside which was a little odd. The house was also slightly cold, given we we checked in on a rainy day.

    Andy2016-10-04T00:00:00Z

  • This is paradise. Country retreat walking distance to a beach. The home is lovely, especially the bathhouse. The property had a lovely orchard, the home has all the necessities, we all enjoyed our time there.

  • What a great house in a wonderful rural setting. We stayed in winter so the wood fired cooker/heater was fantastic - it was such a great experience in itself. we loved the fruit trees and macadamias, the kangaroos just there, the space to roam and explore. the big wide deck and well styled interiors. the lovely sheets, the baths (although running out of hot water not so great) This would be the perfect place for a rowdy family to unwind and relax with plenty of space to explore and play. We could imagine summer would be ideal with the beach so close.

A character rich and elegantly appointed apartment, surrounded by beautiful gardens and situated just a stones throw from pristine beaches. The apartment is located in the picturesque beachside town of Urunga, 25 minutes from Coffs Harbour and 15 minutes from Bellingen. The timber footbridge that carries you across the the river, above the mangroves and out onto the beach is only a moments walk from the house. Shops, cafes and sporting facilities are a short stroll away.
The apartment is furnished with quality new and antique furniture, it has timber floors throughout and a lovely outlook with views to the mountains. The beautiful rambling garden includes an outdoor barbecue area, great for a night under the stars. The bedroom has a queen sized mattress and there's also a quality queen innerspring sofa bed in the lounge room which can be converted into a second bedroom if required. The apartment is completely self contained and private. There are just three apartments in the building. The apartment upstairs is occupied by my mum and the one next to yours is as yet unoccupied, it will most likely be available on Airbnb further down the track. So for the time being you effectively have the first floor all to yourself. The building is very secure with electronic keypad entry.
Urunga is a beautiful seaside town with a great local pub and friendly shopping village with cafes and restaurants. My favourite is 'Embers' the wood fired pizza restaurant, it has excellent service and wonderful food (not just the pizzas). There are public tennis courts, a bowling club and a golf club right in town and the river is great for fishing. There's a footbridge leading from Morgo Street straight out to the beach with amazing mountain and ocean views. A two minute drive will take you to Hungry Head beach which is perfect for surfing, swimming, fishing and long walks on the sand.
  • it's just perfect. rooms are clean, facilities are good. the best is the localtion, just 20 meters from the beach, very convenient if you want to surf / swim several times a day. the balcony and view is very good. when i walked along the beach, i almost thought this is the best apartment to choose. there are some other good buildings alongside the beach, but no other one has such a big balcony. very good for families.

Cutest little beach house in the tiny village of Mylestom nestled between the ocean and the Bellinger River, just far enough from the highway (4 kms) not to hear any traffic, and close enough to the ocean (over the sand dune) to hear the waves.
The house is well equipped for overnight or longer stays. The decor is bright & welcoming so you feel instantly at home. The beach is so close that you hear and even smell it. The river with picnic tables amazing sunsets is a two minutewalk and Bellingen is a beautiful drive just 19 kms along Waterfall Way. Coffs Harbour is about 25 kms & Sawtell is less than 20 kms if you want to shop, go to the movies and dine out.
Mylestom is a quiet little village because half the houses are unoccupied except over Christmas. There is a caravan park that has permanent residents, a general store/cafe, a bowling club, a tennis court, a bmx track, an enclosed swimming pool adjoining the river park, ramps for launching boats and a pontoon for fishing from. The neighbours are very friendly and welcoming.
  • A lovley house and great host. The house had everything needed for a family to stay. only a 2 minute walk to the beach or the river in a very quiet street you can hear the waves. Room to park a car under the house out of the heat. Theres a nice cafe about 10 minute walk down the road for morning coffee and a bowls club about a 5 minute drive with a good Chinese and pizza restaurant for dinner or enjoy a cold beer. If you like the beach or fishing and some quiet time. This is the place to stay.

  • Jill's place is a lovely old beach house situated in a very quiet street. The beach is a 2 minute walk through the bush, and riverfront 5 minutes at the other end of the street. Spacious home with lots of character. Bellingen and Sawtell 20 minutes away by car.

  • Our family of 2 adults & 2 children ages 3 & 5 had a marvelous time at Bello Beach House. The home is cosy & filled with sunlight, perfect in winter. The position is perfect for walks on the beach & equally close to the picturesque river. Jill provided a wealth of local knowledge & amazing attention to detail which we found really helpful. Mylestom is a sleepy little coastal village, perfect for a relaxing family holiday.

  • What an amazing piece of the world! I highly recommend everyone to spend a night or two at this great little spot, 5mins from bellengin centre. Pot belly fire kept us more than warm and the wood fired pizza oven on the deck was fantastic! The morning fog rolling over the mountains and the crisp clear lake at the bottom of the house was incredible. Couldn't have loved out stay any more! Thanks again Shani and Steve!

  • Nice , friendly hosts. Nice location with great canoeing and friendly pythons . Off-grid was no problem. A bit of traffic noise during the day and sheep at night were the only issues. Recommended

  • Lovely welcoming committee when we arrived just on dusk due to bad traffic. Nice out of the way space, but LOTS of mozzies, so bring a net/or some serious bug off!

  • Beautiful location, very scenic and relaxing. House had lots of character, and everything we needed. Loved meals on the deck, kayaking, and the very comfortable beds. We used this as a covenient stopping point for one night on a road trip, and regretted that we couldn't stay for longer. Another time!

    Alison2017-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Shani gave great directions so it was easy to find this lovely little working farm. We hadn't read the description so off the grid came as a surprise - but a nice one. The ice does chill the wine very nicely for sipping on the balcony and surveying the billabong :) I loved the kayaking and was only sorry I didn't get to do it while the cows were swimming across the river too.

    Liza2015-01-05T00:00:00Z

The ample space, chillout corners, and views of the property were perfect after a long day's drive. We settled in really quickly and easily! A clean, peaceful and tranquil location to relax and unwind. The pets on the property were such beautifully natured creatures. I highly recommend Ann's property, she's a lovely host :)

  • What a truely delighful time we had at Annette's. Our host was delightful, informative and very generous. The house was spotlessly clean and just perfect for what we needed. We would highly recommend staying here and look forward to doing it again ourselves.

  • Jody's converted church is even more amazing in person. Such a beautiful location with a relaxed vibe. The view from the deck is so beautiful - given u have a clear sunny day. We particularly enjoyed the home coffee machine and the home laid eggs that Daniel brought the us each day. The house is big, spacious and great for entertaining a group. We also enjoyed hiring canoes from Jody. As for communication prior to arrival, Jody was clear and helpful with any inquiries we had and hospitable during our stay. All in all, we had an amazing time and would stay again for sure : )

2 bedroom + 2 sun rooms old world charm home, open living, large rooms, all designed to take advantage of the river breezes, plenty of room for the whole family to unwind, fully fenced rear yard, over looking the Kalang river.
  • Exactly what it says on the tin! Large comfortable (and affordable) cottage located directly across from river. Sparsely appointed, but more than adequate for family of 4. A nice treat was watching Saturday morning dragon boat practice runs direct from our front porch. Our host, Lissa was pleasant and quite accommodating. Will definitely return !
