Grazie Chiara

  • Alloggio assolutamente incredibile, ci torneremo!

    Andrew2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
È un edificio così unico e davvero ben fatto all'interno.

Consiglio vivamente.

The barn, in the grounds of our 15th century house but nicely private, is decorated in comfortable, modern rustic style, with underfloor heating and a wood burner. Outside is a fire pit for toasting marshmallows and stargazing before climbing into the king-size bed, dressed with soft Egyptian cotton. There's a large walk-in rain shower and robes. There are books to read, DVDs to watch, board games to play. Tear yourself away to explore the stunning local countryside, gardens, vineyards and castles or to eat in great pubs and restaurants.
Our holiday let is set in the grounds of our 15th century house, yet it is not overlooked. It has recently been refurbished (March 2017) and we have tried to make it the kind of place we like to stay in ourselves. The large, light-filled, open plan living/kitchen/dining area has floor to ceiling bi-fold doors opening out onto its own garden. Sit outside - choose from the table and chairs or the big double sun lounger - and listen to the birdsong or go for a stroll in the meadow. By night you can enjoy a starry sky by the light of the fire pit, which also has a grill for BBQ - or marshmallow toasting! The decor inside is 'country cool' - luxuriously comfortable and with nods to the area's heritage as 'The Garden of England', including vintage apple crates used as kitchen shelves and a framed photo of workers in a local hop field in the 1940s. In fact our house next door was, until recently, the farmhouse for the surrounding hop farm which still operates in the traditional way - one of the last remaining in Kent! There's a bedroom with king sized bed and garden views. The bed linen is 600 thread count finest Egyptian cotton, the duvets and pillows goose down. There's a Moroccan style shower room. Things are kept cosy with underfloor heating and fluffy rugs, a woodburner, soft bathrobes and slippers. Board games, books and DVDs will keep you busy plus there's free WiFi and a large flatscreen TV with freeview. The kitchen has all the essential equipment - whether you want to cook up a feast or simply prepare snacks to sustain you in between visiting the many excellent restaurants in the area. We provide a welcome hamper including milk, bread, butter and eggs plus a bottle of local wine to kick off your stay. You will find olive oil, salt, pepper, dried herbs and spices, tea, coffee and sugar. There's washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs, cloths and cleaning products and, in the bathroom, heavenly Aromatherapy Associates body wash, shampoo and conditioner. We also provide logs for the woodburner and for the firepit. End of stay cleaning is included. John is a rehabilitation specialist and also teaches Nordic Walking and Pilates. So let us know when you are booking if you are interested in knowing more. We can offer private 'Learn to Nordic Walk' stays - a lovely safe way to exercise, to discover the local countryside and learn a skill that you can use when you return home - visit www.nordicwalkingkent.co.uk if you'd like to read about this increasingly popular activity. Likewise, if you have a niggling problem with your back, knee, shoulder...whatever!...speak to us about having private rehabilitation or remedial massage in the studio, which is right next to the holiday let. One-to-one and two-to-one Pilates can also be taught here. Alternatively, book a whole weekend or week long 'overhaul', with several hours of mixed exercise and advice on diet and lifestyle. It's all possible...Let us know what you want and we can tailor something to fit. ...
    * Famous gardens at Sissinghurst, Great Dixter and more * Tours and tastings of award-winning white and sparkling wines at nearby vineyards - like Chapel Down, Gusboune Estate, Hush Heath and Oxney Estate * Castles at Leeds and Bodiam and National Trust Houses including Smallhythe Place, Bateman's, Sissinghurst and Scotney Castle *Pretty local medieval villages plus towns of interest, including ancient Rye and Hastings * Sandy beaches at Camber and watersports at Lydd *Excellent eating out

Set in the grounds of grade 1 listed Finchcocks, the Coach House offers boutique hotel style accommodation with 8 bedrooms, each with a en-suite bathroom. The property is located within an area of outstanding natural beauty and is surrounded by hop fields, oast houses with the picturesque village of Goudhurst, and its three excellent pubs, only a 1 mile away. Chef also available by arrangement.
Finchcocks Coach House is set within the grounds of 300 year old Finchcocks Manor House. Until recently the main house was operated as internationally renowned piano museum, and is now a private house. The Coach House was built at the same time as the house, and is itself grade 2 listed. It has been recently renovated to a high standard and offers large double bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms with breathtaking views of the idyllic Kentish countryside. The Coach House sleeps a maximum of 18 people in eight double rooms and two guest beds in a separate room off Bedroom 6. We have an adjoining property available for rent (with its own living room and kitchen) which has a double and two single guest beds. Let us know if you would like to book this too. Chef available by arrangement (at extra cost).
Finchcocks Coach House is set in idyllic countryside in a secluded location at the end of a long private drive. Much of the adjoining land is owned by the National Trust, with magical routes through the neighbouring forests and hop fields. Idyllic cycling can be found along the quiet private drive with horse riding is available locally. Nearby, the Bewl reservoir offers boat trips and bicycle hire, Scotney Castle is open to the public everyday (at the end of the private drive) and Bedgebury Pinetum, with fascinating walks and children's play areas, is within a 5 mins drive.

    Olivia2019-08-04T00:00:00Z

Ci siamo sentiti come a casa. Charlie è un grande ospite. Johanna

    Johanna2018-09-23T00:00:00Z

Ci torneremmo senz'altro.

We would be happy to welcome you to our recently converted timber framed building (once a pig shed!) with modern furnishing, wooden floors and high ceilings. 1 double and 1 twin bedroom. Fully equipped kitchen, WiFi, Freeview TV, walk-in shower. Peaceful Kentish countryside location, set in half an acre of garden, 1 mile from Tenterden. Suitable for weekend getaways, family holidays and also an ideal venue for small business meetings.
Pickle Cottage was once the "Pig Shed" for the farm and we have now renovated it to provide modern and spacious accommodation to suit 4 people. An additional bed can be provided on request for small additional fee. The living/dining area is open plan and therefore large enough for small business meetings for 6-8 people during the day.
In the heart of the Weald of Kent, often called the "Garden of England". Tenterden itself is an historic small, Cinque Ports town with lots of shops, cafes and restaurants. The Kent and East Sussex railway line runs through Tenterden, taking visitors to nearby Bodiam Castle. Also close by are Sissinghurst, Leeds Castle and Great Dixter. Great English Wine is produced at Chapel Down Vineyard in Tenterden and several other Vineyards in the local area. The ancient town of Rye is 8 miles away and the sandy beach of Camber Sands is also within a few miles. A Rare Breeds farm is located in Woodchurch, 5 miles away, where small children can interact with the farm animals. If you like shopping, in Ashford, approximately 20 minutes away there is the well-known McArthur Glen outlet centre where lots of famous brands are sold. Trains go to London from Headcorn (8 miles away) and also to Calais from Folkestone (25 miles away).

Coldharbour Barn Port is one of a pair of similar apartments . Both have their own totally separate accomodation and private patio areas. They are set in beautiful Kent countryside down a farm lane, but still within a short 0.5 mile walk of the historic town of Tenterden. Each unit has a fully equipped kitchen with an open plan sitting and eating area. The properties are both new conversions and are built to modern building safety regulations. Chapel Down vineyard is a 5-10 minute drive.
The property is entered via large patio doors which look out onto your private landscaped patio area. You firstly enter the open plan dining and living area, which has a fully equipped kitchen and a smart tv. Guests can log in to their own netflix or Amazon accounts. The bedroom has a king size double bed, ample cupboard space for all your belongings and its own separate smart TV. The fully tiled bathroom has a modern walk in shower, toilet and basin as you would expect from a recently converted property. This property is unsuitable for children as there are unfenced ponds.
We are set in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and yet only within a short walk of Tenterden High Street, with all its facilities. There is The Kent and East Sussex Steam Railway, where a train journey through beautiful countryside can take you to The National Trust property Bodiam Castle. Other nearby Trust properties include Sissinghurst Castle and Garden, Great Dixter, Scotney Castle and Ellen Terry's house and Barn Theatre. The historic and picturesque town of Rye, together with its quirky shops and magnificent Camber Sands Beach is about 10 miles distant. There are several local vineyards that can be visited including the renowned Chapel Down of royal wedding fame. The property is self catering, so if you need any supplies the local Tesco is a round trip of 10 minutes if you need only 1 item, more if you have a shopping list! There is also a Waitrose in Tenterden.

Located in the High Weald area of Kent which is an AONB, The Cabin at Valley View Farm is set in its own space amongst 16 acres of wood and grazing. It used to be an old hop pickers mobile home but has been lovingly restored to a modern, well presented “mini” haven. A fully self-contained cabin with open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area, king size bed in bedroom and a shower room and toilet. Ideal for a couple or two singles as a Z-bed can be provided. Private outside veranda with a fire pit.
Located in the High Weald area of Kent which is an Area Of Outstanding Beauty, The Cabin at Valley View Farm is set in its own space amongst 16 acres of wood and grazing. It used to be an old hop pickers mobile home but has been lovingly restored to a modern, well presented “mini” haven. Peaceful, quiet and isolated. Private veranda with a fire-pit and a small garden where you can watch the birdlife including woodpeckers. Catch the odd glimpse of the deer in the woods. All totally isolated. It is a perfect place for couples and singles to come and get away from busy lives and there is so much to do within easy reach there is not room to attempt to list them all here. Alternatively snuggle in and watch some DVD's and have some much needed down time. Some of the attractions are the harbour town of Rye, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Hastings, Battle, Headcorn for the aerodrome and Maidstone. Too many NT and Heritage sites to list but you can easily get to Batemans, Scotney, Bodiam, Leeds and Sissinghurst Castles and Hole Park in Rolvenden which is privately owned and Great Dixter Manor and Gardens just down the road. Bedgebury Pinetum and Hempstead Woods offer fantastic walking opportunities and also cycling is a very popular hobby in the area, you can bring your own or hire one locally. There is the Bodiam Boating Centre a couple of miles away where you can take leisurely craft up to the Castle or hire a kayak and go up and down the river at a more leisurely pace. The East Sussex Vintage Steam Railway is to be found in another Cinque Port town of Tenterden which is only a 15 mins drive. The railway can take you on a 10 mile trip through the countryside and up to Bodiam. If the weather is on side Camber Sands is 30/40 minutes drive offering miles of golden coastline and Winchelsea not too far away. The village of Sandhurst is set amongst acres and acres of vineyards and hop fields. Luckily the end products can be tried and tested at nearly Chapel Down, Biddenden and Hush Heath Vineyards in Staplehurst. You also do not have to go far at all for plenty of great places to eat and drink including cafes, restaurants and old traditional country pubs. If the weather is inclement then nearby Hawkhurst (and Rye) offers a lovely boutique cinema, the Kino, where you can sit in small theatres and enjoy the latest films with a glass of wine and some sweet treats !. A fully self-contained cabin with open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area, king size bed in bedroom and a shower room and toilet. Ideal for a couple or two singles as a Z-bed can be provided. The Cabin is set on one level but it has steps up to it. Lounge area has a large sofa and an electric wood burner, a flat screen TV able to play on-demand Netflix, Amazon Prime (guest own account), catch-up TV with a built-in DVD (some DVDs supplied) and a DAB radio. Dining area with two chairs and a table. Bathroom has a shower, toilet, basin and heated towel rail. Wifi included. Decked veranda with Adirondak chairs where you can sit and have breakfas.t, bird spot and see the odd deer in the woods and the ponies in the fields beyond. There is a fire pit where you can roast marshmallows and sit out under a canopy of star on a clear night. There is also a small garden area with a picnic table. The veranda looks out onto the 8 acre wood. Stunning when the bluebells are out.
Our neighbourhood is very peaceful but you do not have to go far for a multitude of sites to see and places to eat and drink. Recommendations can be given.
  • Fuga fantastica.

Grazie Karen e David!

Grazie molto

  • Soggiorno meraviglioso Ottima posizione Molto pulito e accogliente. Lo consiglio vivamente.

    Andrew2017-09-24T00:00:00Z

Our 18th century, cosy cottage is full of period charm - including some quite low ceilings! We are just 10 minutes' walk away from Tenterden town centre with its local amenities and attractions, including the Kent and East Sussex Steam Railway and plenty of places to eat and drink. We are also a short walk away from nearby woodlands and open countryside. We pride ourselves on the homely warmth of our welcome and accommodation, and our style of hosting is to be available without being intrusive.
We offer a nearby parking space if you come by car. Headcorn is the nearest train station if you are arriving by public transport from where one of us would be happy to collect you (subject to availability!), though there is a bus service. Your main accommodation is on the first floor which consists of a double bedroom and adjacent private lounge with TV - designed to be flexible, this room becomes the second bedroom when use of the sofa bed is being made. During your stay you will also have exclusive use of our same floor family bathroom. The dining room and walk through lounge are shared areas, and of course you are very welcome to enjoy the garden. A help-yourself continental style breakfast is included, but you will be spoiled for choice in the local area if a cooked breakfast is your preference!
There is so much to see and do in the Weald of Kent for which Ivy Cottage provides an ideal base! Just 10 minutes' walk away are the amenities of Tenterden town centre, including boutique shops, gastro pubs with historical interest, coffee shops and restaurants. A particular favourite is the Lemon Tree restaurant, housed in a beautiful Tudor building, where you can enjoy a full English, a roast dinner, a cream tea and much else in between! Tenterden recreation ground is the location for various annual events throughout the year, including the Food and Drink Festival (in May), the Spirit of Tenterden Festival (early July) and the Folk Festival in October. The Christmas Market, usually held over the last weekend of November and always a great attraction, probably sees the High Street at its most charming. For families and steam enthusiasts, there is the romance of the Kent and East Sussex railway offering a step back in time and a gentle, scenic passage from Tenterden town centre through the Kent countryside and across the border into East Sussex, with Bodiam Castle being a 5 minute walk across the valley when you arrive at the final station. The picturesque Leeds Castle, too, is but a half hour drive away. The Rare Breeds Centre, Woodchurch, can be a lovely family day out, reached by a 10 minute car journey, or by the local bus service, whilst New Romney and the south coast is only a 30 minute drive, with the seaside town of Folkestone, including its artists quarter, barely an hour away, with Dover and its famous castle not much further. There are two National Trust properties that are just a 10 minute drive. In one direction is our personal favourite, Sissinghurst, the one time home of Harold Nicolson and Vita Sackville-West, where the gardens designed by Vita are just breathtaking, providing visitors with all year round pleasure, and from where, just off the beaten path, local wildlife can be viewed from a hide. One of the local walks, too, takes you through the extensive grounds of Sissinghurst, so you could combine your hiking with a visit there. By a 10 minute drive in another direction you can visit Smallhythe and the cottage home once enjoyed by Ellen Terry, renowned star of the Victorian theatre, in the grounds of which you might choose to sit back and enjoy the current production in the Barn Theatre. And if theatre is your thing, a stone's through from our home is also the Sinden Theatre where you might enjoy the latest am dram or semi-professional show on offer. We keep a broad range of leaflets to give you lots of other ideas of places for you to visit and things to do during your stay, both in Kent and over into East Sussex, and we are always happy to make recommendations.

Coldharbour Barn Starboard is one of a pair of similar appartments . Both have their own totally separate accomodation and private patio area. They are set in beautiful Kent countryside down a farm lane, but still within a short 0.5 mile walk of the historic town of Tenterden. Each property has a fully equipped kitchen with an open plan sitting and eating area. The properties are both new conversions and are built to modern building safety regulations. Chapel Down vineyard is a 5-10 minute drive
The property is entered via large patio doors which look out onto your private landscaped patio area. You firstly enter the open plan, dining and living area, which has a fully equipped kitchen and a smart tv.
We live in the neighbouring farmhouse and are easily contactible. Entry is by a code using a keysafe. However we are very happy to meet you on arrival or after you have settled in to explain any details about the property or recommend any local attractions.

Consiglio vivamente e ci tornerei. Grazie James
