Dove soggiornare a Kippen
This is a traditional Scottish Bothy that dates from early 1700's.It is a self contained "wee house" that has been modernised. 1 double bed 1 sofa bed with shower/wc. No cooking facilities but tea /coffee provided. Breakfast provided by arrangement at a small additional charge.
Built around 1700 as a Drovers Bothy it has been refurbished and retains the upstairs loft which houses a double bed downstairs we have a double sofa bed. It is the only original Bothy of its type in the village and offers an insight as to how what living was like in the days of Outlander! Although there are a few more home comforts on offer now!
Kippen is a small village just 9 miles from Stirling and 12 miles from Loch Lomond with stunning views of the Trossachs. It is a fantastic location for walkers as well for mountain biking and road cycling. There is quality fishing nearby at the Lake of Menteith where the World Championships were held a few years back. Until the 1960's it was the home of the largest grapevine in the world! Kippen is currently listed in the Sunday Times top 20 villages in the UK to live... so you might want to stay! Kippen is blessed with two stunning award winning pub restaurants (URL HIDDEN) and the (URL HIDDEN) We have a hairdresser, post office / genral store/ butcher and deli/ coffee bar in the village. We also have craft brewery based at the old railway station called the Fallen Brewery.

Grazie ancora!

    Susanne2019-04-26T00:00:00Z

    Harriet2019-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Ottimo posto dove stare e buona posizione.

  • Super posto, log burner rende davvero molto accogliente!

    Sarah2019-01-31T00:00:00Z

Church conversion to modern, luxuriously furnished home. Under floor heating throughout. Wifi, BT Vision, views from every room, central location in the pretty village of Kippen. 25 metres from pub, local shops and a cafe.
This is a high quality church conversion which we fell in love with when we first viewed it. It is our home when we are in Scotland and is a peaceful beautiful place to be based. The views are stunning and the house easy to enjoy with quality furnishings and fittings and well proportioned rooms. Its central location in the village is ideal and yet it's private and quiet. Kippen is a small and close community and nearby the walks and rural scenery are stunning. The pubs provide great food and atmosphere too after a day exploring. It's not far to visit Stirling, Glasgow or Edinburgh and trips to the hills and the highlands are also easily accessible using Kippen as a base. We love this place and hope you will too.
Convenient for trips to Edinburgh, Glasgow, The Trossachs, Loch Lomond, hill walking, great cafes, pubs close by, scenic walks and bird watching (many birds visit the garden but also red kites can be seen (if you're in luck!) within 15 minutes walk from the house)

Nice double bedroom located at the front of the house, furnished with King-sized bed, bed-side tables and wall-mounted TV. Separate bathroom for guest use. Large kitchen and dining area which is available to heat food and make tea and coffee (tea and coffee provided). Fruit, cereal, bread/toast, butter and jam are provided for breakfast. You are free to make use of our living-room and our garden. Our aim is that you have a comfortable and relaxing stay with us.
We are located in Cauldhame on the edge of Kippen village near the Trossachs National Park. This is an excellent area for walking with several hills to climb, large, medium or small. The views are wonderful. The road through Kippen is popular with road cyclists and there are challenging routes from our doorstep for the more experienced cyclist. For those who prefer a more leisurely cycle there are quiet country lanes or woodland trails not too far away. Stirling is 10 miles away, Edinburgh 48 miles and Glasgow 38 miles, making this an ideal base from which to explore these great cities. Loch Lomond is 20 miles away and a 45 minute walk up Conic Hill in Balmaha offers amazing views across this beautiful loch and the surrounding countryside. Many of our guests find us the ideal stopover on their way to/from Fort William (2 hours drive) or the Isle of Skye (4 - 5 hours drive). There are regular sailings throughout the year on Loch Katrine (27 miles/50 minutes drive), where you have the option of sailing in one direction and cycling in the other along the shores of the Loch (bicycles can be hired at Loch Katrine). Other attractions in the area are Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument, the Battle of Bannockburn Heritage Centre, Doune Castle (10 minutes drive), Go Ape outdoor adventure centre (Aberfoyle - 40 minutes drive), Blair Drummond Safari Park (10 minutes drive) or one of the local distilleries. In Kippen we have two good local pubs (10 minute walk), which provide a friendly welcome and serve local craft ales and great food (last orders for food 8.45pm). There are also pubs serving food in Gargunnock (5 miles drive) and Fintry (15 minutes drive). A local food store (with post office) and cafe are also available in Kippen during the day. Whether you are a cyclist, a walker or exploring Scotland by car, we will offer you a warm and comfortable welcome.
We love walking and cycling and our location is perfect for both. The area is popular with road cyclists who enjoy the mixture of hills and long flat stretches, interspersed with great cafes along the way. We are close to Stirling, Edinburgh and Glasgow and well placed to take full advantage of all that these great cities and their surrounding areas have to offer.

Cosy log cabins beside the Lake of Menteith THE SPACE Bedrooms 2 Sleeps 4 Bathrooms 1 Free WiFi, not suitable for streaming Bluetooth speaker
DESCRIPTION We have 10 Log Cabins forming a pretty crescent parallel to the shore, roughly 75 meters back from the water. This ensures that once in your cabin, the view from the large, glass sliding-doors is filled entirely with lawn, trees and lake – rather than the back of another cabin. All Log Cabins are separated by a trellis and flower beds around a paved patio with outdoor seating – perfect for that first cup of coffee as the sun hits the lake, or for long summer evenings watching the sun sink over the Menteith Hills. KITCHEN All Log Cabins have views from the kitchen towards the lake, and are supplied with a full-sized cooker with hob grill and oven, a fridge with freezer box, a microwave, toaster, kettle, cafetiere, scales, and all the utensils you need. Click here for a full inventory. LIVING / DINING AREA The living/dining area in the Log Cabins is all open-plan, with leather sofas, large flat-screen TV, DVD player, Anker Bluetooth speaker and electric stove heater. Dining tables are right beside large, glass sliding doors, with some of the best breakfast views of any holiday accommodation in the Trossachs! Ducks are always on hand to help you with any leftovers. BEDROOMS All Log Cabins sleep 4 in a double room and a twin room. In addition, two of the cabins also have double futons in the living area, and are therefore equipped for 6 (though 4 is the more comfortable party size). Beds are made up with fresh linen for your arrival. BATHROOMS Log Cabins all have a shower/bath with curved glass screen and Power Shower. PARKING There is space for 1 car at the back of each Log Cabin. LAUNDRY Our Log Cabins share a communal laundry, situated beside the washing line at the back of the Games Room. There is no charge for using the washers and driers, although you can make a donation into the Action Aid box in the laundry for Kutaifa, a Ugandan girl we sponsor. The entrance to the laundry also has a Weekly Wildlife information board, where guests can add to a what-and-where list of wildlife spotted during the week. WHAT’S INCLUDED Bed linen, towels, tea towels, eco cleaning products, starter pack is all included in the price of your stay. Also on arrival, you will find fair-trade tea, coffee and sugar in your accommodation, as well as salt, pepper, milk and Tunnock’s teacakes and wafers. WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED Everything in the Log Cabins runs on electricity, which is charged at cost; on weekly lets the first £5 is included. An optional ‘End of Stay Clean’ for a Log Cabin costs £25; an optional ‘Mid Week Tidy’ costs £18. IN BRIEF 1 double with kingsize duvet, 1 twin; 1 shower/bath; dishwasher, washer/dryer; Freeview, DVD-player, Anker bluetooth speaker; free Wifi; patio furniture. Bed linen and towels included; cots, high-chairs, BBQ free on request.
The Lake of Menteith is the ONLY lake in Scotland (all other inland waters are called Lochs). Menteith is on the highland fault line so the landscape is a unique mixture of highland and lowland. Most lochs are the waters between 2 mountains. The Lake of Menteith has mountains to the north and flat carse land to the south.

Consigliamo vivamente Lochend Chalets!

The Stables is set in the grounds of Corshill Cottage which has extensive garden grounds. It has outdoor seating and car parking. The apartment is ideal open plan living for couples or young families. The bedroom area is in a galleried area (open on one side) above the open plan living area. A mile from Thornhill and only 10 minutes drive to either Stirling or Callander. A car is recommended.

Kippen is a beautiful village in West Stirlingshire, just 9 miles from Stirling. It was recently voted in The Times as one of the 20 best villages to live in the UK. It lies between the Gargunnock and Fintry Hills and is a short drive (20mins) from the heart of Loch Lomond & the Trossachs. It is a great location as it is so close to many attractions. The Falkirk Wheel, Kelpies, Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument, The Battle of Bannockburn, & Blair Drummond Safari park to name but a few!
The Coachhouse itself is in the most historic and in my view the prettiest part of the village. It dates back to the mid 1700's and captures a true piece of history. It retains its cobbled paving and has a real 'step back in time' ambiance. That said, this cosy cottage has itself been extensively upgraded to provide all home comforts.
You are in walking distance to the village's amenities. The local shop is a minute's walk away. The Cross Keys pub is also, a minute's walk away. The local pub has just been voted one of the top 15 gastro pubs in Scotland and I can fully recommend it! Just up from the pub we also have a wonderful deli, selling great cakes, coffee and a fantastic selection of wines. We are lucky to have many great eating establishments surrounding us, there are just too many to mention!
  • Ospite eccezionale, molto soddisfatto.

Abbastanza vicino a molte attrazioni.

**NEW FOR 2019** Unique 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom stone Barn conversion located within the ancient Touch Estate with views to Stirling Castle and Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park . The estate, with its wild moor and waterfalls, is now a popular location for the filming of the Award Winning ‘Outlander’ drama series . Located in the midst of Braveheart country, littered with the debris of past feuds and battles, Ailsa Barn was originally the site of a croft dating back to 1720 and rebuilt over the years until it evolved into a traditional Scottish farmhouse and stone barn around a sheltered courtyard. The barn now sits in an acre of private garden with a stream and direct access to the moor beyond. Set into the hillside for protection from the wind, the original, barn , dating from 1840 ,was converted in 2018 using traditional building techniques and locally quarried stone. It is set high on the hill side in a quiet location retaining privacy even though adjacent to the farmhouse nearby. Ailsa Barn is only 5 miles from Stirling however feels wonderfully remote. Access is up a steep hill which can require four wheel drive, even in the summer. Part of the adventure is the road up to the Barn. Driving though Redhall Farm Yard ( drive slowly mind as there are children and chickens roaming freely!) you will see Ailsa Barn at the top of the hill. Engage that first gear and climb up the track where the breathtaking views , and the barn of course, await you. Due to its ‘off grid’ feel Wi-fi is not available though the 4G signal is easily reached. Television reception can be affected by weather conditions too; there’s a DVD player and some films or, of course, sit back and take in the spectacular views during the day or the stars at night !
Views from the living room are exceptional and stretch uninterrupted from Ben Lomond in the west , across The Carse of Stirling to Stirling Castle due east taking in the high peaks to the north of 3 Munros ; Ben Lomond, Stuc a' Chroin, and Ben Vorlich as well as the slightly lower peaks of Ben Venue and Ben Ledi. Sunsets are second to none and the colours of the mountains and sky change continually. Facilities Upstairs is a huge open plan living room with a Jotul log burner and TV . However, there is no reason to watch the TV as you will be kept mesmerised with the phenomenal views from the floor to ceiling feature window . The constantly changing light and sky provide the perfect backdrop to sit with a glass of wine , relaxing and waiting on the sun to set. Within the open plan living area , there is a generous seating and dining space for 8 and the integral kitchen is fully fitted with two fridges, an induction hob, electric oven, microwave and a dishwasher. There is an additional toilet on this floor and a further area for relaxing and reading with views towards Stirling Castle. On the ground floor the entrance leads to a utility/boot room with washing machine leading to three double bedrooms and two shower rooms. The south bedroom has a king size bed, an ensuite shower and a patio door to the courtyard with views across The Carse to Stirling Castle. The middle bedroom has a two single beds arranged as a day bed and a pull out bed, again with a patio door to the courtyard and Castle views. The north bedroom has views to the mountains and a king size zip and link bed offering the option of two single beds. A secluded, sheltered sunny courtyard offers outside dining space with BBQ facilities for you to relax and unwind after a hard day’s sightseeing. We have wildlife in abundance – pheasants, deer, red kite and horses all on the doorstep. It’s just a 10 minute drive to the Trossachs National Park with the Lake of Menteith Hotel, where fly fishing can be done and Loch Lomond and the rugged west coast beyond where you can take in the views of Scotland’s most exceptional scenery and mountain ranges. The estate, with its wild moor and waterfalls, is now a popular location for filming Outlander. Doune Castle (filming location for Outlander and Monty Python), the Wallace Monument, Old Stirling Bridge, Battle of Bannockburn Experience, the award winning Engine Shed, Blairdrummond Safari Park, the Church of the Holy Rude, Deanston Distillery (The Angel’s Share) and the Argaty Red Kite bird of prey display are all within 5 miles of the Barn. The Lake of Menteith is 6 miles away and is the historic centre for curling. Hence the name Ailsa Barn referring to the Ailsa Craig island from which the rock for curling stones is quarried. Curling is now held in Stirling. Old maps of the area and in particular the new Historic Scotland facility at the aforementioned Engine Shed with its augmented reality coverage of Scotland is invaluable. There are many books and maps at Ailsa Barn giving the history of the area and suggestions for exploring the wealth of important historic sites in the area. Of particular interest is the adjacent ruined croft. The Carse of Stirling was under sea water up to 1700. Draining the carse revealed fertile soil and several landowners encouraged a scheme for workers to clear six yards deep of river silt over an area of 60 square miles in exchange for the tenancy of nearby land and the right to build accommodation. One of these is the ruined croft dating from 1720 now at the centre of the group of two dwellings known as Upper Redhall and Ailsa Barn. It is visible to the left of the parking spaces in front of the Barn. The wall of the ruined croft now gives privacy between Upper Redhall and Ailsa Barn. An unmade road leads from the barn parking area directly to the moor beyond. This is gated and used daily to tend to cattle and horses so please avoid blocking this with your cars.
Ailsa Barn is in an ideal location to explore the local area, one which combines both outstanding natural beauty with a unique local history. Within a short driving distance you will also be able to sample Scotland’s magnificent Highland scenery and hospitality before returning home to the comfort of your accommodation. Stirling and the surrounding area are steeped in history. The historic Battle of Stirling Bridge in 1297, Battle of Bannockburn in 1314 and Battle of Sherriffmuir in 1715 all helped to shape the history of Scotland and these sites can easily be visited from our properties. Allow yourself to become absorbed by the atmosphere, whilst visiting the magnificent Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument and The Battle of Bannockburn Experience, and then recharge your batteries in one of the many cafés, restaurants or pubs. The surrounding countryside is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts: walking, cycling and paragliding are all on offer on the nearby Ochil Hills. Slightly further away are The Trossachs, Callander, Loch Lomond National Park, Glasgow and Edinburgh providing, therefore, the ideal central touring base for your holiday. Located within an hour's drive of Glasgow and Edinburgh International airports, Stirling has excellent motorway connections to the north and south. Golf being available at every turn: Kings Park's course is a only a 10 min drive from the property and at least another five within 30 minutes drive. Slightly further afield are the world famous Gleneagles and St Andrew's Old Course. Ailsa Barn is perfectly located for you to make the most of your holiday and sample some of the highlights the area has to offer.

This well appointed self catering accommodation can sleep upto 6. Right at the heart of a working family farm, but only 7 miles from Stirling you get the best of both worlds - a rural retreat, lovely views, great walking, but easy to explore beyond
Housed within an A listed 18th Century Steading, at the heart of a beautiful working family farm Old Leckie Farmstay is great base for a holiday. The Steading looks over the historic 16 C Old Leckie house and it is hard not to get caught up in the romanticism of this historic landscape.
Old Leckie is a really special place. it is not just a farm. Its not just the beautiful location. Maybe its the feeling of tramping the same ground that Bonnie Prince Charlie did when he visited, or just the feeling that you are re-discovering childhood as you explore secret steps and ancient bridges... come and feel it for yourself...

A beautiful private wing in a charming old Schoolhouse built in 1857. Bright and airy apartment surrounded by Farmland, easily accessible from the main road. We are minutes from Blairdrummond Safari Park, and Doune Castle - film set for Outlander. Our central location on the edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, makes this an ideal resting place to adventure from. Given the governments recent announcement I will be offering a dining in service free of charge in March and April
Aside from offering lots of natural light and peace and quiet, the apartment also offers exclusive use of the breakfast room ( with a breakfast bar) bathroom, bedroom, and outside eating area. There is an electric shower, king size bed, coffee/tea making facilities and reasonable size fridge. We do not have a kitchen, however there is a reasonably sized fridge and we can easily pop a microwave in for you.
We are in a very quiet area surrounded by farmland. We are a 45 minute drive from Glasgow and Edinburgh, and a 15 minute drive to Callander. We have lots of lovely pubs and restaurants around, and within walking distance of the Smiddy Farm shop and cafe.

Ci torneremmo volentieri.

We have another en-suite bedroom for up to 2 people. We offer a SPECIAL PRICE if you book consecutive nights. Contact us BEFORE booking for our DISCOUNT.
The bedroom has freeview TV and DVD [a small selection of DVDs is available], tea and coffee facilities with fresh milk, an alarm clock, and a hair dryer. The en-suite has toiletries, large bath towel, hand towel and face cloth per person. Each ‘pod’ has curtains, a shelf, lights and its own TV and DVD player too. The top pod is accessed by a ladder and is recommended for children over 5 or at the parent’s discretion.
Menteith House is in the small conservation village of Thornhill midway between the city of Stirling and the picturesque Trossachs. We are within walking distance of our village shop which sells most items and a recommended pub which serves meals all day. There is a children’s play park and short walks around the village. Further afield, Stirling which is 10 miles away, has all the amenities of a city with supermarkets, shopping malls, restaurants, theatre, cinemas, leisure centres etc. There is also a large historic connection, with Stirling Castle, the Battle of Bannockburn and the Wallace Monument. We are only 3 miles from Doune with its castle of Monty Python fame; 5 miles from Callander the largest settlement in the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park; and about 40 minutes to Loch Lomond itself. The only lake in Scotland, the Lake of Menteith is 6 miles away and there are boat trips to Inchmahome Priory. It is 16 miles to Loch Katrine where the steamship Sir Walter Scott takes a leisurely 1 or 2 hour cruise, even accommodating bicycles if you’d like the 13 mile return ride. You can enjoy the countryside while staying with us, yet visit many internationally famous art galleries, museums, golf courses, distilleries [our nearest is 3 miles] and much more. The Blair Drummond Safari Park is 3 miles away next to Briarlands Farm with indoor and outdoor things for kids to do.
  • Wow. Menteith House è stata una piacevole sorpresa. Dettagli fantastici ..... scaldavivande in bagno, grande vasca, scaldasalviette, lenzuola di alta qualità ei bambini adoravano i cubbies. Ottima posizione per chi guida a The Highlands.

Tutti i servizi come descritto e nuovi.

We offer a gorgeous and neatly presented one bedroom modern maisonette apartment. Our maisonette is equipped with everything you need if you are on holiday or business. We are situated six miles west of Stirling. Surrounded by fertile countryside known as Blair Drummond. Our central location on the edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park makes us popular with guests.
Our modern maisonette is bright and airy with views from the double doors towards farmland and the village of Gargunnock and the Kippen hills. Our guests always enthuse about our views - you cannot miss them! Farmland surrounds our property and we are easily accessible from the main road. Our maisonette is well appointed with everything you should need during your time away from home. Guests have full control over the heating in the maisonette and there’s a ceiling fan if it gets too hot during the summer months! The large en-suite bathroom and large walk in wardrobe adjoins the large bedroom. There is plenty of storage room for suitcases, golf bags etc. The open plan kitchen and lounge area has everything you should need. The kitchen has a full cooker (hob, oven and grill), microwave, fridge and washing machine. The lounge area has comfortable sofas looking out to countryside and there is a TV/DVD player with an extensive library of DVD’s to choose from. One of the sofas is a sofa bed which can sleep two people but is probably best for children. We can supply a travel cot for babies and baby 'toys' are available on request. Wifi can be accessed throughout the maisonette. We have ample private car parking available in our yard. If you have road/mountain bikes then we can put them in our lockable sheds overnight. Guests have use of an outdoor seating area. Perfect for watching the sunset and the many birds and other wildlife which visit our garden.
Our house is so called ‘The Orchard’ as it was once part of a castle and our grounds were the orchard to the castle. The castle is no longer there but we have a little bit of history within our grounds. if you wish to explore. We are situated just off the A873, the main road to Aberfoyle and the Trossachs.

Luxurious self-catering by the Lake of Menteith THE SPACE Bedrooms 3 Sleeps 6 Bathrooms 2, including Steam Shower Free Wifi, not suitable for streaming Nespresso machine DESCRIPTION All but dipping a toe in the Lake of Menteith, our 2 luxurious, larch-clad “A” frame lodges – Osprey and Heron – were totally renovated in Spring 2016, bringing a modern, minimalist, almost Scandinavian cool to Lochend. Vast, floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors bring the outside in, flooding the lounge and master bedroom with stunning views of the lake and mountains. It’s hard to imagine a better view from any self-catering accommodation in Scotland! Open-plan, and full of quirky, handmade design touches – bare light bulbs hang from antlers above the dining table, a birch branch forms the clothes rail in the downstairs bedroom, a boot jack has been made by my pa, Jimmy, using old floorboards – Osprey and Heron are our two most luxurious lodges. Both have a Nespresso machine, steam shower and free-standing bath tub. Both Luxury “A” Frame Lodges have a patio area surrounded by heather beds on the grassy bank between chalet and lake, with a picnic table and chairs, bird feeders and nesting boxes in the Scots pines all around, and armies of friendly ducks chuntering for bread. KITCHEN The Luxury “A” Frame Lodges both have handmade kitchen units with beech trim sourced from the same giant tree from which my husband, Chris, made the dining table. The kitchens have fridge, freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, electric hob and oven, microwave, Dualitt toaster & kettle, Henkel knives (thanks for the tip Nick) scales, food processor, Nespresso machine, and all the utensils you need. LIVING / DINING AREA Downstairs, the large open-plan kitchen/lounge has limed oak floorboards and a large slate grey corner sofa, with 4.5 metre floor-to-ceiling windows offering incredible views over the lake towards Ben Lomond and the Menteith Hills. Just back from the window, a large dining table has been made by my husband, Chris from an ancient beech tree that used to tower above the jetty; on the other side of the room, a cosy alcove with beanbags is already hugely popular as snug kids’ computer den, with usb ports and a UE bluetooth speaker. BEDROOMS Our Luxury “A” Frame Lodges have three bedrooms: two upstairs, one downstairs. The downstairs bedroom is a twin room overlooking the forest at the back of the chalet; upstairs, the cosy double room with Kingsize bed has French windows onto a Juliet balcony with wonderful views over the lake, while a second Kingsized bed room across the landing looks out onto the forest where the oak that Chris made the bed came from. Beds are all made up with fresh linen for your arrival. BATHROOMS There are two bathrooms. Downstairs, the bathroom has a steam shower and a free-standing bath. Lying directly below a huge sky light, this is perfect for candlelit soaking looking up at the stars. The upstairs bathroom is smaller, with toilet, sink and shower. PARKING There are spaces for a couple of cars at the back of each Luxury “A” Frame Chalet. WHAT’S INCLUDED Bed linen, towels, tea towels, eco cleaning products, washing/dishwasher powder and all heating and electricity is included in the price of your stay. Also on arrival, you will find fair-trade tea, coffee and sugar in your accommodation, as well as salt, pepper, milk, Tunnock’s teacakes and wafers and few pods of coffee for the Nespresso machine. WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED An optional ‘End of Stay Clean’ for a Luxury “A” Frame Lodges costs £50; an optional ‘Mid Week Tidy’ costs £18. IN BRIEF 1 kingsize double, 2 twins; 2 bathrooms, including bath and steam shower; dishwasher, washer/dryer; Freeview, DVD, CD, iPod/mp3 dock; free Wifi; patio furniture; Nespresso machine. All heating, electricity, bed linen, towels included; cots, high-chairs, BBQ free on request.
Relax by the lake or explore Scotland and the Trossachs on holiday at Lochend Chalets You could make your holiday here at Lochend all about Lochend. Many arrive determined to explore the surrounding glens and bens, or to visit nearby Edinburgh and Glasgow, then spend all week cosying up in our comfy lakeside lodges and cabins. In summer, some spend their whole week sunning themselves by the lake, playing tennis, or simply blethering with friends over long, lazy meals. With the Nick Nairn Cook School just 200 yards from the chalets, wildlife in abundance, and our brand new bike trail and skills park, you need never even leave our tranquil shores. However, Lochend lies almost exactly slap bang in the middle of Scotland, so it is a brilliant base for exploring the rest of Scotland – we think, the most beautiful country in the world! It may feel wonderfully remote once you’re here: nothing but swans, ducks and fishing boats to disturb your view across the lake to Ben Lomond and the Menteith Hills. But Lochend is only one hour from Edinburgh and Glasgow, 75 minutes from Glencoe, and only minutes from a myriad of lochs and bens, golf courses and biking trails, castles and distilleries in Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. Whether it’s your first time here or your 40th (some of our guests have been coming here since they were kids), we hope you’ll find this guide useful for trips close to home and further afield.
