The Alexandra offers a unique opportunity to stay in an 110 year old life boat on the shores of Cuan Sound. Situated on Argyll’s rugged coastline, this is the ideal location for kayakers, walkers and those wishing to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Alexandra is nestled in the bay along with our other lifeboat The Mary Heather, both are part of our small campground facilities here at Cuan Ferry, they both share the shower and toilet facilities provided a short walk away
Alexandra has 6 berths set around a central table, each with a reading light, charger point, pillow and pillow slip, we do not provide linen however we can provide a sleeping bag with liner for a small additional charge. The galley has a two ring hob, microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge and a small sink with cold running water. Crockery, pans and cutlery are all provided. The covered cockpit entrance to the lifeboat provides an outdoor sitting and drying area. The toilet, shower, scullery and drying facilities are situated in our uniquely designed timber cove approximately 25 metres from the lifeboat.
Cuan Sound is a tidal stretch between the Islands of Luing and Seil, that connects two very unique Island communities. Both of which are incredibly vibrant and welcoming, and offer a range of different activities. The Island of Luing- the home of the famous Luing cattle and quarries "that roofed the world" -is only a short ferry ride away and hosts the recently opened Atlantic Islands Centre, a cafe and museum full of stories and history of the surrounding islands! This is a perfect base to take a boat trip, cycle ride, or walk around the shoreline if you are not a kayaker yourself! There are also a variety of lovely pubs and cafes in the area if you fancy a more relaxed excursion.

(Dog friendly (2 no) pure)

  • Posto incredibile, merita una visita

    Richard2019-06-03T00:00:00Z

Tutti vogliamo tornare indietro

    Melanie2019-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Un'esperienza unica "glamping" in una posizione fantastica. È quello che fai di esso! Ci siamo divertiti.

Cross the famous Bridge over the Atlantic to the tranquil idyll that is the Isle of Seil. Seil is a perfect base to explore the West Coast of Scotland & Hebrides, with Oban's ferry terminal, restaurants and shops just 30 minutes away. See the Corryvreckan whirlpool & encounter the many sea mammals with a Seafari trip, or sea fishing trip with Argyll Sea Tours. Enjoy the abundant wildlife on stunning walks or by simply sitting at your base & watching wild birds, & deer wandering in the garden.
Iona Chalet has been entirely refurbished to a high specification, & has been immaculately maintained since then. It is luxuriously appointed & has a spacious, characterful, light and airy open plan living, fully-fitted integrated kitchen, and dining area with french doors leading to an enclosed and covered veranda for spring and summer, and cosy log burning stove for the winter. Every care has been taken to make your stay as comfortable as possible from the luxury shower room with underfloor heating, to cosy bedrooms. The chalet is detached, with a good sized lawned garden surrounded by fields & woodland, & is in an idyllic setting overlooking the shores of Balvicar Bay. The shoreline is approximately 100 metres from the chalet, & is easily accessed by way of a wooden gated walkway. Upon your arrival you will be supplied with a large basket of logs, kindling & matches, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, choice of red or white wine, butter, fruit, Seil eggs, homemade bread & baking, a selection of the latest magazines, & complimentary hand soap & shampoo. The tariff is also inclusive of all electricity ie. no pay for use meter as in some other similar accommodation.
Balvicar Chalets is a small community (just seven) of cabin-type properties, most of which are lived in permanently. They are set in a peaceful setting backing on to farmland and overlooking Balvicar Bay. Iona Chalet is just 100 metres from the shore, which can be accessed by a wooden walkway.

Simple, lovely and comfortable rebuilt traditional mining cottage just a stone throw off the ferry, and 20m to the Puffer Bar & Restaurant. Enjoy the unique serenity this car-free island has to offer, amidst the Scottish west coast's wild beauty.
Seol-Mara laid in ruins for years like many cottages on the island, and was rebuilt by the former owner in the 1980s, and is now a self-catering holiday cottage. The cottage has a double bedroom, loft space with double mattress, large living room with space for 2 folding beds. A kitchenette with fridge, freezer, cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle, tea & coffee, all the utensils and cutlery you will need and washing machine. The bathroom includes a bath and shower. All bed linen and towels are included. Mobile phone signal on the island is inconsistent, with the best place on the island for signal being near the phone box at the ferry shed. There is also Wi-Fi in the cottage free of charge, although be prepared for slower internet speeds than you may be used to!
The island is currently home to around 65 permanent residents and has undergone some drastic industrial changes in its history. Easdale is one of the four "Slate Islands" in the area that were mined for hundreds of years up until the First World War. These are known as the "islands that roofed the world". However a huge storm hit the area in November 1881, which filled all the quarries with sea water, and in turn wiped out over 300 families' livelihoods. As little as 4 people were left on Easdale during the mid 20th century, but a strong resurgence in recent years now boasts a thriving and welcoming community. The islands' fascinating history is available to read into with much greater detail in Easdale's Folk Museum (open April - October), a must visit for any keen historian. The award winning Puffer Bar & Restaurant is open all year round selling locally brewed beer and superb seafood freshly caught from local fisherman. It's just 2 doors down from the cottage as well! If you fancy doing a unique pub crawl of sorts it is possible, the Oyster Brewery is just on the mainland side off the ferry, and the Tigh an Truish is further down the road at the Bridge Over The Atlantic. The whole area boasts beautiful walks, and the island itself can be walked around leisurely in 30 mins, but can take many more hours to explore in its entirety. Climb the hill to discover fantastic views and point out the surrounding islands. Visit the swimming quarry for a fresh swim or jump in off the cliffs for those adrenaline-seeking types. Practice your stone skimming with perfect slate stones, the island is home to the famous World Stone Skimming Championships in September every year. An ideal place to just get away from it all... Wildlife is a big tourism factor to the area, porpoise and dolphins are occasionally spotted through the ferry channel and off the island. Local boat tours in the area like SeaFari Adventures actually take you down to see the infamous Corryvreckan Whirlpool (3rd largest worldwide), seals, eagles, cetaceans and many others. Easdale is a perfect stopping point on a tour of the Scottish West Coast. Access to the North West is easy by road, and in Oban you can hop on a CalMac ferry to get to the Outer Hebrides and other islands.

Ritorneremo sicuramente :)

Smart and cosy studio for the single or double occupancy of none smoking guests. We also have a superior double room in main house .Small extra supplement. Subtropical landscaped gardens with views seaward from deck. 30 minutes drive from the pretty ferry port town of Oban. The ancient Bridge Over The Atlantic provides easy vehicular access to the island of Seil Studio guests /double room have sole use of a power shower room/wc in the house see photos - (no shower/wc in the studio.
    DIRECTIONS - THE POST CODE PA34 4TR GENERALLY WORKS WELL ON A SATNAV TO GET YOU TO SEIL - BUT WILL DUMP YOU IN THE WRONG PLACE( re our home) We recomend you call our landline,which we can give you after confirming your booking ( NOT our mobile) on leaving Oban. Signal becomes less reliable,after leaving Oban. We will then know when to meet you at the carpark after the Bridge Over The Atlantic . On approaching Seil drive over the lovely Atlantic bridge and 'immediately' park in the Tigh An Truish pub carpark at the front and enjoy the view. We will meet you there to make sure you dont get lost as we are a bit difficult to find - so give us a ring when you leave Oban? and then we will there - probably in a little black Citroen. There is poor mobile phone signal generally on the island but there are vodafone hotspots at the pub (where you are),at the doctors (on the left halfway thro Seil) and the village shop at Balvicar - also I believe a little O2 and a little EE. {For guests staying for a week I can put vodafone users on our broadband system for 3g signal}
Clachan Seil is a quiet place with only the sound of the wind and waterfowl at night to lull you to sleep. It is a friendly place where people wave and say hello - if my car were to break down I know it wouldnt be long before someone would stop to help. Time has a habit of standing still here when i’m out walking or working in my beautiful garden - which you are welcome to enjoy. On a summers evening heavy perfume drifts through the garden so come stay with us and slow down to Seil pace! Enjoy our little piece of paradise. The local pub is just a 20 minute walk from us by the bridge, where you will find a friendly welcome - they serve food and good beers. There is an excellent Sealife Adventure trip within easy walking distance of our home at the bottom of our road.Boat trips take you out to see the Corrywrecken whirlpool where you may see all manner of sealife and birds including the magnificent sea eagle which locals call the barn door because of its massive wingspan. There are also trips to view wildlife from Ellenabeich on the other side of Seil 10 minutes drive from Clachan seil. At Ellenebeich there is a small folk museum about the slate quarrying that took place here and was the main industry for200 years. If you stay with us you will be able to hop over to the neighbouring islands of Luing and Easdale - both an easy 10 minutes drive to the ferry which take only minutes to cross. The new Atlantic Islands Centre on Luing is a lovely village hub that has cafe, shop, and museum - there are often concerts and events there to enjoy. Easdale island has no cars .The residents leave their cars on Seil and have wheelbarrows by the harbour on Easdale to bring their shopping home! It has a small pub and cafe serving excellent food.A good place to take refreshment after walking round the flooded island slate quarries circular walk with its spectacular views out to sea. There are also the local gardens of Ardmaddy Castle close by to Clachan Seil and An-Cala which are well worth a visit. There is a village shop and post office at Balvicar just 10 minutes drive away or 35 minutes walking. If the weather should be inclement ,snuggle ( courie),down in the wee cosy studio pod and watch TV or a dvd,and put a beer to chill in your fridge. We will put a nice continental breakfast in your fridge each day with fresh homemade bread, porridge for the microwave ,cereals, preserves, yoghurt, fruit, and juice/ coffee and tea, milk or soya milk etc plus there is a toaster. Just leave your dirty crocks out and we will put them in our dishwasher for you. If you require a cooked breakfast (small supplement) that can be ordered the day before. I will offer a small range of homecooked ready meals to purchase and heat in your microwave at very reasonable prices and I grow our own vegetables. If you have dietry requirements we can do our best to accomodate you. We look forward to welcoming you to our home

Consiglio vivamente un giro a piedi intorno all'isola.

  • Posizione straordinaria - altamente raccomandato.

This is a SMALL, BASIC bunk house, not a 5 star hotel! It does not have heating so think before booking it for winter! Bring sleeping bags & food. Bedding & cot available on request (£8 each) Microwave, kettle, toaster, plates, mugs etc. Toilet/shower. Easdale is quiet. We have a pub but only other nightlife consists of otters, birds and sunsets. No roads so leave car and take ferry. Views are terrific, people are friendly. Easdale is not just special, it's unique. Well behaved dogs welcome.
When I say "small and basic" I mean it! Think of it as posh camping! A 3 man tent is cramped for 3 people. This is bigger but it is still small. Most 3 man tents do not have an ensuite shower room with toilet!

    Felix2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Posto incantevole, valore fantastico e posizione incredibile! Proprio come descritto.

    Spela2018-09-09T00:00:00Z

Seashell Cottage is one of two four star self-catering cottages located in the beautiful 200 year-old conservation village of Ellenabeich just half an hour south of Oban. A perfect place to stay with most of what this area has to offer on your doorstep. The Oyster Bar/Restaurant less than a minutes walk away. The Puffer Bar and Restaurant/Tea Room on Easdale Island only a short two minute ferry ride away. Sea-fari boat trips leave from the harbour, the local slate beach and hill walks all walkable from the cottage. The village is the perfect place to enjoy the sunsets in the evenings. Ellenabeich is reached by crossing the famous 'Bridge over the Atlantic' to the Isle of Seil in Argyll, in the West Highlands of Scotland. These two beautifully appointed semi-detached properties come equipped with linen and towels and luxury toiletries for your stay and include electricity plus one bucket of coal for the fire. Additional fuel is available.
Rockpool and Seashell Cottages are located in a beautiful west coast fishing village in Argyll, south of Oban and offer easy access to the main tourist hotspots whilst offering a wonderful, peaceful base for your holiday. The conservation village of Ellenabeich, with its whitewashed cottages was built to house workers at the local slate quarries, but the industry collapsed in 1881 when the sea broke into the main quarry pit – the flooded pit can still be seen. To the north the scenic landscapes of Lochaber and the Outdoor Capital of the UK including Glencoe are within easy reach. To the south the historic highlights of Kilmartin Glen and the Crinan Canal whilst inland there are the joys of Inveraray with its magnificent castle and visitor attraction Jail together with interesting shops offer a great day out. Oban is the main hub and ferry port is also the gateway to the isles of Mull, Iona, Lismore and Kerrera to mention just a few. The local area offers many outdoor activity opportunities including wildlife spotting, boat trips, scuba diving, kayaking, horse-riding and scuba diving for the energetic! More relaxing pursuits of exploring the rich heritage of the local area can also be enjoyed. Castles, gardens, beaches, woodlands and wonderful walks and gently hikes are within easy reach as is fishing and gold. So, plenty to enjoy and while away your days.

The house stands on its own in a rural setting and is close to the ferry for the Island of Kerrera. The view from the house is over looking the Sound of Kerrera with yachts, fishing boats and ferries passing by. It's two miles to Oban which has a large choice of places to eat. There is no public transport to the house. Taxis are available from the railway station area in the town. Visitors are asked to arrive after 16.30 hours and on the morning of departure to leave by 10.00.
The attic room measures four and a half by three and a half metres (approx) so is fairly roomy, with sloping ceilings and views over the sea. The shared bathroom is on the ground floor.
Oban is the "Gateway to the Isles" and Argyll is a rural county with mountains, sea lochs, fresh water lochs, beaches and wonderful views of Highland scenery.

"Beautiful cottage with lots of amenities. Views are great! Neighbours were fab and enjoyed the whole vibe. " - Karmen (Feb, 2019) Located on the picturesque, car-free Island of Easdale, this charming cottage encapsulates history and character within its walls. The island of Easedale offers a peaceful retreat for a break away that is as far away from the city as possible! Spread over two floors, the upper floor includes a spacious double and twin bedroom. There is also a generously sized bathroom which has cosy underfloor heating in Easdale slate, shower & P shaped bathtub. Both bed linen and towels are included. The second double bedroom is located on the ground floor next to the comfortable living room with working wood burner (with free fuel), a Sky Sports TV package, WiFi throughout and a selection of games and books. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you'll ever need. Leading out from the kitchen through south-facing patio doors is the garden complete with dining furniture and unrestricted views across the Firth of Lorn.
Chattan Cottage is situated on the former slate mining island of Easdale, 15 miles south of the town of Oban in Argyll, the island has around 60 permanent inhabitants and has a fantastic sense of community; a warm welcome awaits any visitor. Renovated to give a more modern, minimalist appeal with crafty features it still retains its picture postcard image of a fisherman's cottage, having a comfortable cosy environment with a log burning stove if need be for those chillier evenings. Relax on the private decking in the sun overlooking the stunning views or take a stroll around the shoreline of this beautiful Island at dusk. A brilliant place to relax and really be at peace with your surroundings.
Due to being located on the car-free Island of Easdale, there are around 60 permanent inhabitants, however, a great sense of community is truly felt here by all who visit. The island's local pub is open all year round and serves a selection of locally brewed ales. The attached tearoom/restaurant is open during the summer months and serves award-winning, locally caught seafood. Easdale is a peaceful Island where the visitor can really enjoy the natural environment and take in the beautiful surrounds. For keen walkers, the Island has various footpaths and it typically takes around 25 minutes to walk the entire island, which includes climbing the 125-ft hill that offers panoramic views of surrounding islands. The Easdale Island Community Hall stages regular entertainment throughout the year with nationally and internationally acclaimed acts performing to a full auditorium. Furthermore, Seafari Adventures offer a number of high-speed boat excursions departing from Ellenabeich, including trips to the world's second largest whirlpool at Corryvreckan with the opportunity to spot some of the local wildlife, which includes; whales, dolphins, basking sharks and white-tailed eagles.
  • Bellissimo cottage con un sacco di servizi. I panorami sono fantastici! I vicini erano favolosi e ci siamo goduti l'intera atmosfera. I traghetti erano fantastici aiutandoci con le valigie ecc. E addirittura ci hanno aspettato una notte.

“Reay Cottage” has been recently renovated by the current owners. It has one double bedroom, living room/kitchen and a shower room. Easdale Island is unique in the fact that there are no cars. The back garden has breathtaking views of the islands of Luing, Scarba, Jura, Fladda, Belnahua, The Garvellachs and Mull. 'Reay Cottage' is the perfect romantic getaway or peaceful retreat. There is also a pub/restaurant and a community hall which hosts regular live entertainment.
“Reay Cottage” is an original slate quarrier's cottage. It is self-catering providing washing-up liquid, tea, instant coffee, cooking oil and vinegar, salt & pepper, a washing-up cloth, kitchen roll and a tea towel, so you won’t need to bring these basics with you. There is a fridge which has a small freezer. A microwave, cooker with separate grill and oven. There are all the utensils, cutlery, crockery, pots and pans that you need. One basket of logs, kindling, firelighters and lighter are provided for the wood burning stove for your use. No other materials must be burned in it, due to the nature of the fire. We therefore ask that you only burn kiln dried logs in this stove burner. If you require more, they can be bought at Balvicar Stores, which is two miles away on the adjacent island of Seil (en route from Easdale to Oban) and is well-stocked. There is a sofa, two arm chairs and a folding dining table which can sit up to 4 people. Two of the dining chairs are in the living room and an extra 2 folding chairs are stored in the hall cupboard. The bedroom is to the back of the cottage. Whilst lying in bed, you can hear the waves rolling onto the back shore. It has a cottage-sized double bed, (6ft X 4ft) and a double wardrobe with hangers and drawer space., where you’ll find a new hairdryer. There is a full length mirror behind the door for dressing. There is also an electric heater in the room with an attractive flame effect, which can also be used without the fire being switched on. This gives the room a cosy, romantic feel! 😉 There is additional hanging and storage space in a built-in cupboard in the hallway, which also contains a small chest of drawers. There is also a shoe and boot rack. There is an iron and a small table top ironing board. There are brushes, a pan and mop in this cupboard should you wish to use them during your stay. Cleaning and linen changes are only done after you leave, (FREE OF CHARGE) For people wishing to stay 2 weeks, there will be a fresh linen change, including towels after the first weeks stay. There is a hot water switch in the kitchen which must be turned on to supply water to the kitchen and bathroom sinks. The shower is electric and the switch for this can be found outside the shower room. Please switch this off again after use. *PLEASE NOTE* Reay cottage has a SEPTIC TANK! PLEASE DO NOT PUT ANYTHING DOWN THE LOO (apart from toilet paper provided). Sanitary towels, wipes, condoms etc, MUST be disposed of in the bin in the bathroom, beside the loo. The Seafari Adventures shop at Ellenabeich, (3 mins on the ferry over to mainland), stocks some basics during the tourist season, (March to November). The Puffer bar and restaurant on the island is popular with locals and tourists alike. The restaurant is small, so requires advanced bookings for food. They can be contacted via their website, or Facebook page.
Easdale Island has a small, friendly family community. It is one of the four slate islands 'that roofed the world'. It has many abandoned and flooded quarries and industrial archaeology features, including old engine sheds and tramways. There is a quaint and interesting museum on the island and another in Ellenabeich, telling the story of the islands slate heritage. One of the quarries at the back of the island is particularly renowned for swimming and diving. Easdale has a permanent population of around 60 people. Every September, it is the home of The World Stone Skimming Championship, which is held in the quarry behind the museum.

Welcome to Gylen Park ! This is our fourth year on Airbnb and are delighted to be offering accommodation in our wonderful caravan / cabin, we call it "Galley Cabin" Situated on the remote end of Kerrera Island we are in the perfect spot to “get away” from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Our home is situated at the end of a road to know where. So if your looking to step out of the usual tourist traps then this is the place for you. Please read the full discription before booking. Thanks
This is a 6.8 meter long by 2.4 meter wide (internal space) caravan that has undergone a transformation from a standard caravan to something much more comfortable and interesting, we have put in hundreds and hundreds of hours of work to create a space that we hope will satisfy all your needs while you are visiting this amazing island. This is not a modern luxury caravan, but if there is such a thing as “very comfortable rustic” then we hope to have achieved this. This caravan is perfectly suited to couples or single visitors or two friends who don't mind sharing one room with two beds. There is a heated shower room as shown in the photos, the electric shower is not a power shower as we do not have mains water pressure but its hot spacious and will do the job! We provide all the Towels you could need. The kitchen is equipped with two induction hobs, a modern microwave, toaster and full size fridge. There is of course a kettle and all the utensils and cooking equipment you could need. There is NOT a freezer but if required you can use our one in the house no problems. There is also NOT an oven but there is the microwave that i am told can do many magical things if you know how to use one….. there is an instruction manual. We provide free tea bags and ground coffee (there is a coffee plunger) sugar, salt, pepper and olive oil. There is an endless supply of wonderful fresh spring water from the tap ! The caravan has a double bed with freshly laundered linen, it comes with a double duvet and plenty of extra bedding if required. We can make up a single bed if two beds are required, This is done by converting the small table and seating area as shown in the photos into a bed. There is a flushing toilet inside the caravan (see photos) and a wash hand basin and lighted vanity unit. There is a full size double sink with draining board, tea towels are provided. There is a spacious seating area and dinning table, there is another table and seating area if its not converted into a single bed. Heating is provided by two electric heaters, one is a large fan heater with an electric flame and will heat the place up quickly the other is a smaller heater with a thermostat that you can set to whatever temperature you like the room to be at while sleeping. There are new blinds on all the windows. There is hot water at the kitchen and hand sink and of course the shower. There is storage space in overhead cupboards and also a wardrobe for larger items. There is no telly vision and no TV reception at the caravan or on the property so bring a book ! Wifi is available but please be aware that we are at the very end of a long and very old phone line, wifi is slow but more than adequate for emails and simple web searching, streaming of movies is often slow and not worth the effort so download some before arriving. There is NO mobile reception at the caravan or around the house so you will get some peace from the constant chirping of phones, phone reception can be got by taking a short walk up a local hill. Outside there is a private seating area with fantastic views, there is a nice big charcoal BBQ outside the cabin, either bring your own charcoal or leave a donation for using ours. Please let us know in advance if you think you may want a BBQ so that we can make sure it’s cleaned and everything is ready for you. The caravan is within our grounds (please see photos) we have tried to site it so that you have the best possible view out the main window and you also have an outdoor seating area that is somewhat hidden from the main house. We live in the main house with our two children and we have one small dog. We run a volunteer program where people come and help to us to develop the gardens and look after the wild areas and tender the thousands of young trees we have planted. There can be up to two volunteers here and they stay in both the main house and the cottage, we also have a much more basic caravan that is also used by our volunteers. We have a really big garden with huge areas of cut grass and are slowly creating a network of tracks that one day will lead (you) our guests around this stunning property. The creation of the gardens and woodland is ongoing and the property reflects that with signs of activity all over the place, there are stockpiles of timber and stone in various locations ready for use and though unsightly now will one day be used to make the place even more beautiful and enjoyable for out future guests, so please ask if you want me to tell you how a pile of stone will unfold into one of my many dreams. You are welcome to explore the property, there is a huge pond area that has the beginnings of a track round it and we have some resident wild ducks. The creation of many wildlife areas has seen a massive increase in bird numbers as well as many more butterflies and bees feeding on the nectar of the many hundreds of flowers we have planted. The property is at the very end of a road to nowhere, so if you want to explore nowhere then its just outside the garden gate, walk out and get lost in this truly wild and beautiful place. The local landscape is like something straight out of lord of the rings, with many small beaches and jagged cliffs, there are ruins from forgotten times and deep dark woods, open grasslands and hidden lochs, babbling burns and secret caves…. Stunning views are round every corner, all in all if you love the wild outdoors then you will love it here. The island has a traffic exclusion policy this means you CANNOT bring your car across but have to LEAVE it parked on the mainland. It’s free parking but due to limited space it is sometimes worth arriving half an hour early so that you can wait for people getting of the ferry to leave, you can then park in one of the vacated spots, get yourself organised and get the next ferry in a leisurely manner. We will pick you up from the ferry on the island side and drive you down to where we live. We will also drop you off at the ferry when you finish your stay with us. The carpark park on the mainland is in the middle of nowhere so you will need to bring all you need and though there is very little crime in these parts you should not leave valuables in your car. The ferry to the island costs approximately £3.20return per person. PLEASE REMEMBER The last ferry is at 5.55pm from the mainland to the island you MUST not be late or you will miss the ferry and then you will need to find alternative accommodation at extra cost. So plan to arrive on time or better still and earlier ferry. You need to let us know what ferry you are arriving on at least 48 hrs in advance so that we can arrange to pick you up, failure to do this could mean that you have to walk the 2 miles to where we live. If you do miss your ferry please try and contact us and we will do all we can to come and get you, failing this leave your bags at the ferry port and walk down to us and we will go back and get your bags. Please see the ferry website for all sailings and information, type CALMAC Ferries into your internet browser And then in the search page write "kerrera" and you should find the info on sailings There are NO SHOPS on the island and only one cafe that is open 7 days a week but shuts a 4.30pm The Tea Garden / Cafe is shut from the end of September. The cafe serves food and drinks and is about 20 minutes walk from where we live. There are no pubs or any other amenities at this end of the island so bring all your must have items like beer and chocolate! Because of the nature of the property with ponds, cliffs and work related sites this is not a suitable environment for young children, we have two very young children but they have grown up around here and know how to stay safe. We have tried to provide all you need for your stay, we are on site nearly all the time so if you need something then we will endeavour to help you. We will pick you up with a large 4x4 so bring as much stuff as you like except the kitchen sink as its already here. Thanks for reading and i hope we see you soon. Check in time is from 3pm and check out is before 11am this gives us time to clean the caravan ready for the next guests. If we are not booked up then we can be more relaxed about these times. There are a few miles of hard surface tracks / roads on Kerrera but if you want to explore the best parts then you need to be prepared to go "Off Road" stout footware and rain jackets are advisable. We have a selection of wellington boots for people to use, we have some now but will hope to have a full range within the next few weeks A map of the island is on the wall. We will ask all our geusts about ideas to make the experience better for future visitors and will act on these ideas as soon as we can if it is possible and affordable. Thanks to our geusts so far for giving us some great ideas.

Rockpool Cottage is one of two four star self-catering cottages located in the beautiful 200 year-old conservation village of Ellenabeich just half an hour south of Oban.
The cottages are set in a beautiful west coast fishing village in Argyll, south of Oban and offer easy access to the main tourist hotspots whilst offering a wonderful, peaceful base for your holiday. The conservation village of Ellenabeich, with its whitewashed cottages was built to house workers at the local slate quarries, but the industry collapsed in 1881 when the sea broke into the main quarry pit – the flooded pit can still be seen. The Scottish Slate Islands Heritage Trust displays fascinating old photographs illustrating life in the village in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The local area also offers many outdoor activity opportunities including wildlife spotting, boat trips, scuba diving, kayaking, horse-riding and scuba diving for the energetic! More relaxing pursuits of exploring the rich heritage of the local area can also be enjoyed. Castles, gardens, beaches, woodlands and wonderful walks and gently hikes are within easy reach as is fishing and gold. So, plenty to enjoy and while away your days.

An Rubha Holiday Cottage is a relaxing, 3 bedroom holiday cottage situated on the charming, car-free island of Easdale, near Oban on the West coast of Scotland. Comfortable cottage accommodation offering stunning views towards Isle of Mull and the Firth of Lorn, the ideal place for a peaceful break! The property is spread over two floors and downstairs comprises of an open plan living area with open coal fire, digital TV, DVD/CD players and a selection of board games & books. There is WiFi available throughout. The kitchen/dining area is equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge-freezer, microwave, ironing board and iron, and cooking utensils. The cottage sleeps 5 - 6 guests in three bedrooms, with the first double bedroom being located on the ground floor. A children's travel cot and highchair are available. On the first floor are two further generous double bedrooms and the family bathroom, complete with a heated Easdale slate floor and free-standing bath.
Extensively refurbished in 2015, An Rubha Cottage offers modern living, comfort and unrestricted views across the Firth of Lorn towards the Isle of Mull. Due to being on such a small island, with only around 60 permanent inhabitants, there is a great sense of community and a warm welcome awaits any visitor. The property is a great place to watch the sunset and or rise over the Island but more than that it's a place of peace and tranquillity, the roaring of car engines is replaced by the calls of birds and the crashing of waves.
Easdale is separated from the neighbouring island of Seil by a narrow channel that is crossed on a five minute ferry ride from Ellenabeich. Originally home to large slate quarries, Easdale virtually emptied in the decades after commercial quarrying ended early in the 20th century. The new century brought a new lease of life together with a growing population and an active community spirit. The island boasts a unique community hall and is home to the annual World Stone Skimming Championships each September. Many of the old workers' cottages have been restored, one of which now houses the interesting Easdale Folk Museum, near the main square. Walking is the best way to see the island (you can walk around it in under an hour) - in fact, it's the only way as Easdale has no roads.

Altamente raccomandato!
