Case Vacanze a Ahakista

Appena prenotato a Ahakista

Sheila
E poi.... Cosa chiedere di più?

  • Let me start by saying, our stay at Sheila's home in Ahakista was the highlight of my families vacation to Ireland. It was my youngest daughter, Kimberly's Make A Wish to visit Ireland. And her two big older brother's were able to take leave from the Airforce to join us. Difficult to put in words when you decide on place with so many to choose from what to expect and Sheila's renovated stone home was beyond everyones expectations. My family, all seven of us, minus my eldest daughter made our way around Ireland, starting in Dublin, New Grange, Giant's Causeway, Aran Islands, Dingle and finally Ahakista on the Sheep's head peninsula. All within 5 days. We gratefully and exhaustedly settled in at Sheilas for 3 heavenly days. When we arrived, Kat , greeted us, and soon Sheila arrived with their smiling and friendly faces and easy going attitude showing us around and explaining how lights, fireplace, and etc worked to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Sheila then brought in a huge bag of scrap wood from her wood working class to use for burning, how thoughtful and what fun! Our first day we went into the larger town of Bantry, bought some groceries at the Super Valu so we could eat all our meals at Sheila's. To eat home cooked meals with well equipped kitchen and having the family sitting once again at the dinner table was so memorable ,wishing it could last for so much longer. The next day was our first major rain day since arrival to Ireland, I know unbelievable. But is was so welcomed after traveling like crazy tourists that we are. The wind was howling, rain pounding on the windows. It was great. We played card games, boggle, read, and slept in cozy beds. Love your master bedroom and bath and deck and sitting room and........ We all had our own beds and little places to hide if we needed alone time. Oh, yah!! Next day was awesome. We walked to tip of sheep's head and saw many sheep and a glorious sunset, WOW. Last night older kids went to small pub in Ahakista, played darts, and had great time. They met a major British celeb, won't name and names to protect a person's privacy, but they thought that was a hoot. Could go on and on but if you're stuck on where to stay, I'd choose here!!(URL HIDDEN)Thanks so much Sheila from the bottom of our Minnesota hearts. Scott, Mary Jane, Pat, Steve, Shannon, Ben and Kimberly(URL HIDDEN)

  • Sheila’s place is amazing!! We wanted somewhere that felt like a traditional Irish cottage and somewhere quiet, this place was perfect for that. Unless you stay here purely to go hill walking it is necessary to have a car. It’s so quiet at night, clear skies to star gaze. The cottage has everything you would need for a very comfortable stay. Cold nights in front of the fire were fantastic.

  • Sheila's cottage is an absolutely prefect place to have a great (hill-)walking holiday in a lovely part of Ireland. We'd felt very welcome and the cottage has all the amenities you might need on a trip. Sheila is very friendly and really tries to help you and gives great recommendations on what to do in the area.

  • I really recommend Sheila's place for a quite holiday ! We loved the house which is still under construction, but we stayed in the completely finished half. The area is wonderful and Sheila is very nice too ! She was waiting for us on the night of arrival even if it was around 11 pm. The next evening she had to go somewhere , so we had the house for ourselves and we could enjoy the beautiful view and the cute fire place. Best place to forget the busy workdays in the city !

  • It could not have been better. Sheila was friendly and very helpful with reccomendations of hikes, views, restaurants and pubs. The place was beautiful with a sweeping view of Dunmanus Bay, comfy beds, spotless Kitchen and Bath. Even a collection of home made scones waiting in the fridge. Highly recomended for any body who wants to experience genuine irish Country.

  • We found the peace, beauty and relaxation we were after at Sheila's beautiful hideaway! The views and amazing flora and fauna on the hike up to Gouladane and Gouladoo were worth the 45 minutes it took to reach the saddle! And we were just a short hop to dinner at Arundel's or tippin a couple of pints at the cozy and friendly Tin Pub. Durrus and Bantry were a very scenic drive away and fed our desire for a busier type of entertainment. Every kind of shop, market, resturant and pub can be found there! All in all it was a wonderful stay, we hated to leave. ..and I'm sure at some point I'll return to this hidden gem! Thank you, Sheila! Colleen and Hayley

Comfortable traditional cottage, 2 min from the sea and pub. One double and one single bedroom with single bed and chair bed, plus double sofa bed in living room. All mod cons, wifi, wood burning stove, next door to gallery and café, (cafe only open from April - end of August), access to beautiful gardens, well behaved pets welcome. We are 10 minutes from Durrus where there is supermarket and good family restaurant open all year round. You will be on the doorstep of the Sheepshead way- fantastic way marked walking routes all over the peninsula. Arundels on the pier does pub food at weekends and all summer.

  • Just the best, of people, and of thoughts, and of places. Probably also the best salad in Europe - literally as fresh as a daisy. I hate to recommend it, as this jewel will become less available, but what Klaus and Annabel do is quite exceptional, don't miss out.

    Chris2013-07-18T00:00:00Z

    Nelly2016-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay on Annabel's cottage. It's a hiker's paradise down there and the spectacular walk to the lighthouse at Sheep's Head is something we'll never forget. Annabel's place has a great lived in feel to it, a million miles away from the sterile holiday home experience. The room with the stove is very cozy with the fire on. A great place to hole up with a book. The house is full of her artwork and it was great to be able to see her gallery even though she wasn't open for the season yet. Overall a great experience.

    David2013-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Annabel and Klaus offer a great vacation experience with the accommodations and hospitality they provide. They welcomed us with a warm and cozy house, and all was ready for us to feel at home. It is a wonderful location to see and explore the beautiful Irish coast line. Annabel was so kind to show us her art studio, gallery and the gardens which are simply beautiful. We loved her animals which include sweet cats, a wonderful dog and three lovely pigs. Thank you for a great time in Ahakista, we will be back!

    Corinna2014-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Seaside Cottage is like a pretty place from a fairytale, alive with colorful and artsy details. The two bedrooms felt like a nice childhood memory! The flower beds, the vegetable garden and the rest of the grounds are amazing. Annabel was a very friendly and discreet host, and it was a privilege to peek into her artist's studio.

    Michèle2014-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was gorgeous. Every thing you could potentially need was provided. The attached gallery, cafe and grounds were really lovely too. It's impossible not to relax there! The village, pubs and locals were gems as well! I'll be back for sure.

The area is very picturesque. Unfortunately there is no barbecue. overall we enjoyed it. good quality-price ratio. Thanks, Fiona

  • Fiona was lovely to deal with--prompt, pleasant, and no nonsense in all matters. She gave us excellent directions and made clear that she was on hand should any difficulties arise (none did). The house is extremely spacious and comfortable. The setting is picturesque and could not be more peaceful. Excellent WIFI and phone signal. Ideal for families or, possibly, a group of walkers. Stunning, well signposted trails all along Sheeps Head and two great local pubs (one serving good food).

  • A lovely home in a beautiful location, bigger than expected with loads of ideal places to curl up with a good book. Ahakista is a delightful area with many excellent walks from the doorstep. We would happily make a return visit.

  • Scenic quiet peaceful location of outstanding beauty. Strongly recommended.

  • We met Fiona in the local village and she escorted us to the house. Fiona was a great host who was only ever a call/text away. The house is much bigger than it looks with loads of living space and a really big well equipped kitchen. Its very easy to make yourself at home. The views from the house are spectacular and the garden is well maintained. We had lovely weather so took full advantage of the outside seating area. The Sheeps Head Way walks are easily accessible from the house.

Grande sala yoga!
hello all, Welcome to your holiday on the Sheep's Head peninsula. My West Wing is an entire home and it is all yours to enjoy a home away from home experience. I have two separate Airbnb listing at this one address. 2 large bedrooms, a large front room the "dawn ballroom" perfect for yoga dancing and large dinner parties and when the table is extended. There are two bathrooms one upstairs and a downstairs wc and shower wet room. kitchen is large and a delight to cook in. I have designed it and built it while living next door in the cottage "Rent Peace and Quiet and hillwalk" also listed on Airbnb. Guests will have a peaceful tranquil location with spectacular views and it is a delight for anyone who needs to escape the city and just breath. The neighbours are sweet and farming and fishing and arts and crafts types. There are two pubs one has a restaurant and both have really picturesque beer gardens overlooking the harbour. The village of Ahakista is rather tiny with just two pubs an art gallery/coffee shop and garden, a school and a church (all spread out) There are two other villages on the penninsula, Durrus and Kilcrohane and we are halfway between them. There are shops and cafes in both villages. Lots of hill walkers come for easy and unspoilt walking routes called the sheep's head way. It is best to come by car as there really is very poor public transportation. I have had cycling tour guests who arrived and stayed to rest at the end of their journey. My place is unique or special as it has a lovely character without the perfection that makes hotels and modern houses boring and soulless. I love it and am very proud of it and I hope you will love it as much as I do. Thanks for considering my Wild Atlantic way view for your holiday destination. Sheila wifi internet/restaurant and bars.
Ottimi pub e bar, grandi escursioni a piedi e in bicicletta, gite a vela disponibili in Ahakista.

    Francesca2016-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our month long stay at Sheila's. It was just what we were looking for, a house where we could relax and be comfortable as a family. Sheila was a wonderful hostess- she checked in with us by email several times as our stay approached, and once we were here she also checked in multiple times to see if there was anything we needed.

    Nicole2016-04-25T00:00:00Z

    Céline2015-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila's house is really spacious! You have a great view on the atlantic ocean! It is an amazing house regarding Sheila built it on her own!we loved our stay and would recommend to stay in this area and at sheila's place!

Fahrtzeit). Wer richtig einkaufen gehen will, Besorgungen machen oder Essen gehen will sollte nach Bantry fahren.

    Sarah2016-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Sheila's cottage was such a pleasure! The house is wonderful and so is Sheila! She welcomed us with a cup of tea and a bread and she also gave us so many good advices for our trip! Thank you Sheila! It was wonderful!

Schade. Aber wir haben uns wohlgefühlt.

  • Great stay in a beautiful house with a beautiful view where you can spend hours gazing out into the bay. Rita and her family are really lovely, warm hosts. Would go back in the morning. Only problem was that only had two nights at the house - would have loved to stay longer!

  • This house is in a most beautiful setting. You have the most fabulous view out to the sea from the kitchen and Sun Room. There are lovely country lanes you can walk down and even on rainy days you couldn't help but admire the views which are stunning. The house itself has everything you could want and is well appointed. The beds are comfy so you sleep well. My kids enjoyed using the Basketball hoop on days we didn't venture far. The house was built with the view in mind and you can see it from various rooms in the house so you always feel connected to it. The local cafe and pub offer good food. I don't feel we explored the area enough and in hindsight I wish we did fewer day-trips so we could have spent more time on Sheep's Head. Bantry is nearby and is a lovely pretty town with lots of Pubs and Food places and a couple of good supermarkets. A trip to Skibbereen will take you to a Lidl and Aldi and is a lovely drive. Lots of stone circles in the area if you enjoy that type of thing.

  • Our family of five had a wonderful stay at Rita and Neil's lovely house which has great bay views. We enjoyed the very well equipped kitchen and appreciated having access to an assortment of ingredients. Neil and his daughter gave us a great welcome and showed us round the house and gave us some excellent tips on local walks. They had lit a fire for us and we made use of the cosy fireplace. We recommend staying at Rita and Neil's which is in a stunning location on the Sheepshead Peninsula in Ahakista.

  • The location has spectacular views and is definitely worth the drive. Rita was so nice and met us in a storm to make sure we found that place and that we got settled in. She told us over coffee and cookies all about the local activities and the best places to see. Rita's home is warm and inviting and week settled in right away. The drive was a bit stressful, especially for an american who is not used to driving on that side of the road, but is so worth taking. A car is a necessity due to the distance to most everything around but that is part of what makes this location so perfect. Our vacation could not have been. better

  • Very nice and comfortable house, gorgeous view, beautyfull place, Perfect comunication with Rita and Neil. We really enjoyed our short stay.

  • Great home in a great location with a great host.

  • Rita's house is very spacious. It has a magnificent outlook across the bay to the wide expanses of the Atlantic Ocean. The house is well equiped and has a warm and cosy wood heater. Sheep's Head Peninsular is not as popular as the othe peninsulars in South West Ireland and for us this made it very attractive. There are great walks to take nearby and one of the pubs was open even in the midst of winter.

  • Thanks so much for having us in your beautiful home. Love the name 'Le Cheile' as it means 'Together', which is exactly the feeling we as a family felt staying in your beautiful home during the prep, celebrations and aftermath of my sisters wedding in the Tin Pub in Ahakista. Your home was perfect for my 2 little girls to enjoy the safe and exploring nature that is the country coming from living in the city. Evening and early morning walks to the nearby beaches and Arundels Pub and Restaurant, the Hern Gallery and The Tin pub were flash backs to my holidays growing up and lovely to share this with my girls and look forward to many more. Love the connection I found out, when leaving on my own family history of my Grandmother being friends with your's all ties into the theme of Le Cheile. I will definitely be recommending you as the go to place in West Cork for the relaxation and peacefulness by the see and the friendly neighbours with their history stories over a pint down the road. Looking forward to coming back in the future.

We, Joe & Agnes, along with our family restored our Farmhouse in 1990 keeping typical charming farmhouse characteristics (stone fireplace with log & peat fires, slate floors, open ceiling beams & traditional thick stone walls). Perfect for 2 to 7 adults or families. An extension to the back of the farmhouse provides two B&B rooms which can be rented separately or together with the Farmhouse. This tranquil setting allows you to take time to Think, Walk, Read & Play and enjoy total Relaxation.
Hello Guests, If you are looking to get away from hustle and bustle of life, then this is the place for you. Hillcrest Farmhouse is nestled in the rocky hillside (Bioran) with spectacular views over Dunmanus Bay & Ahakista Harbour. Though the majority of our customers down through the years are 'return guests', we are excited now about updating our Airbnb site, and looking forward to welcoming new guests to experience all that is on offer in Hillcrest Farm and the Wild Atlantic Way. Hillcrest Farmhouse has been in our family for the past six generations. We have just received the Georgina Campbell Award for ‘The Farmhouse of the Year 2018’. This, in addition to many awards received over the years, since its renovation in 1990, is a great acknowledgement of our hard, but enjoyable, work, which involved restoring our beautiful farmhouse, keeping its traditional farmhouse characteristics, to the wonderful charm that it is today. Hillcrest Farmhouse is the ‘South wing’ of the entire building. It consists of 3 spacious en-suite bedrooms with power showers. All rooms have spectacular sea, mountain and garden views. Fully equipped traditional farmhouse style kitchen with dining. Utility room with washer/dryer. Ground floor bathroom with bath/shower. A most impressive large sitting cum dining room with antique furniture, and beautiful views over Dunmanus Bay. Large stone fireplace. Basket of peat/logs supplied. Thick stone walls with traditional wall lighting. Slate floors and open ceiling beams. Satellite TV. DVD player. Many books to read, games provided for play. All of this made extra cosy with very comfortable lounge seating and rugs by the fire. Free Wi-fi throughout the entire property. Private patio with outdoor dining, seating and bbq, where you will enjoy the most spectacular views of the harbour and the many yachts and boats that anchor there. Large mature garden with old pine trees and many shrubs. Garden seating and swings for children. Take time here to experience the morning sunrise, hear the birds singing and watch the many wild rabbits play close by. Quiet peaceful neighbourhood. Large private car park. Beautiful stone walls built by Joe surround the property. On arrival to Hillcrest Farm, I will always be there to greet you with a welcome pack of homemade scones, homemade jam and tea/coffee. I provide advice on your itinerary during your stay. I have a book with local information, tours and places of interest. Myself and my husband Joe live on the East Wing of the building. This is totally separate from the South Wing. We are available to help you with any information or requirements during your stay. Short or long rentals are possible for small or large groups. An extension on the ‘West Wing’ offers further accommodation that can be rented separately for B&B, or as room only if extra accommodation is needed in addition to the Farmhouse. These are two large B&B rooms (West Wing), (Bioran & Roskerig – also advertised separately on Airbnb!) You can have the option of room only or self-service breakfast. An additional dining/sitting room is located on the North Wing. This dining room as you will see from the photo is simply stunning. It originally was a cow barn and it was beautifully restored in 1990 as our main B&B dining/sitting area. It has an open stone fireplace and a display of antiques from our ancestors that lived and worked in Hillcrest Farmhouse. Feel free to pet our donkeys Bó and Bubba in the nearby field. Our friendly dog Shep and our cats will also welcome you on arrival. You may also visit our hens which provide us with free range eggs daily. Our cattle roam in the fields which you will see close by. The ‘Sheep’s Head Way’ walking trail passes by our house. This trail gained the European Eden Award of Excellence recently. It is a 200 km walking route around the unspoilt Sheep’s Head Peninsula. Cycling route is also adjacent to Hillcrest Farm. The village of Ahakista is approximately 10 minutes walk. Arundels by the Pier pub has been awarded the Gastro Pub Award for their restaurant. It provides excellent food on a daily basis. Great sea views and night entertainment. The Ahakista Bar (The Tin Pub) is a most beautiful family run traditional Irish Pub with Irish music and great atmosphere. Beautiful garden on the water’s edge. Great place to meet the locals. Heron’s Gallery Café & Gardens – is a magical place. Drawn by the sea and sunshine in Cork, they have created a very special place. Visitors can browse in the gallery which showcases Annabel’s originals, wildlife prints and raku sculpture, have delicious lunch in the wholefood café , wander around the beautiful flower and vegetable gardens, visit the pet kunekune pigs, and enjoy the sea views. It is an inspiring and creative destination and you will always get a great welcome. Kilcrohane village is 3 miles away. Lovely restaurants and pubs. Durrus village is 6 miles. Bantry town is 12 miles. Great market in Bantry on Friday morning. Lovely restaurants, pubs and beautiful walks by the sea. Ahakista is the perfect location for touring west Cork & Kerry. We hope you enjoy visiting our magical part of the World, and like many of our visitors I'm sure it will be a destination that you will be putting on your 'must return list'! We look forward to meeting you, Agnes, Joe & family.
The neighbourhood is most friendly. You will get a salute and a smile from everyone .The visitors are most welcome to chat and mix with the locals. If anyone can sing a song or play an instument, they will be welcomed with open arms to perform in either of the pubs and join in the fun.
  • Very cosy and welcoming house fully equipped with everything you need and more. Hot kettle and freshly home-baked scones greeted us when we arrived. Had a fantastic weekend with my family. Thanks agnes

  • Lovely house with fantastic views and a short (30min) walk to Arundels pub for great food and drink. The house is in a great location to explore west cork, only 25minutes to Bantry. Unfortunately we had a few days of bad weather, but that was a good enough excuse to just sit indoors, snuggle down and read a good book.

  • Absolutely fantastic house, big bedrooms, large living room, huge kitchen, beautiful garden with an amazing view on the bay! We loved the house and its surroundings, did twice the long walk around Sheepshead, went to horseride at Bantry, enjoyed whalewatching in Baltimore and had a lovely lunch in Ahakista. All in all a wonderful holidays thanks to the location and the equipment of the house. Thank you Mary.

  • This was our second time staying at Mary's house, and it was wonderful again! Mary is a great, very gracious host, and her caretaker Kieran was always friendly and available to help us out during our stay. The house is so spacious and comfortable, with beautiful views to the sea. We love waking up to see the green hills and blue water, the cows walking behind the house, and one morning there were sheep grazing out front! It's a perfect spot for a quiet retreat!

    Kristy2015-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was really lovely with all the facilities we could need. The location is in the beautiful countryside of Ahakista, a perfect spot to relax. It is very close to the village where there are a couple of lovely spots to eat and drink. I really enjoyed the food in the The Herons Rest Cafe and Arundels. The tin pub is also close and a really unique spot. There are not many shops nearby so I would recommend stocking up on your milk etc as your passing through Durrus. I thought the communication from Mary was excellent and Ciaran was very good at meeting us and showing us things to do with the house. It is a fabulous penninsula. We brought our bikes and cycled up to the sheeps head. There are stunning views. We also done an amazing hike on the sheeps head way and visited baltimore for a sea safari. You wont be short on things to do! You do need a car though for the longer journeys. A bike is good for getting around the penninsula. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

  • Thanks so much to Mary for a wonderful stay at her house which really does live up to it's title - "FANTASTIC 4 bedroomed detached house". Excellent facilities, lovely location, helpful caretaker; all add up to a very enjoyable holiday experience. Great time had by all.

  • Mary is an excellent host, very friendly and easy to work with. Caretaker Kieran greeted us on arrival and was available in case of any problems. A beautiful house in a beautiful quiet location with views over the bay and peninsula. Plenty of rugged terrain to explore with all the charms of West Cork. Highly recommended.

  • This property is dream worthy. It has a beautiful view and quite surrounding. The house is flooded with natural light and has a lovely interior. Each bedroom and room is fully equipped, with a homely feeling. We really enjoyed our stay and the surrounding countryside. Kieran was very helpful and close by if we needed help. I would love to come back to this property again.

  • The house was really spacious and clean. It's in a lovely location with great views. It is remote though and you'd definitely want a car. We spent 10 nights with 4 adults and 2 young kids. The kitchen was really well equipped for cooking and there was plenty of room overall. There's lots of space around the house to play and a swing set. While there is a picnic bench outside there isn't much else in the way of outdoor furniture. The TV and internet were great, especially given the remote location. Mary was helpful and prompt in her communications. One surprise was the fuel charge upon checkout. This was totally reasonable and it is called out in the middle of the description but not very clearly and it wasn't in the pricing section or email communications and I missed it. I would recommend this as a place to stay, we enjoyed our time there :)

We had a superb time!

Fantastico! E mary è una donna strepitosa.. Abbiamo riso come pazzi.. Assolutamente consigliato!

A refaire, à conseiller, à recommencer !!!

  • Mary was the perfect hostess. We had nice weather and she served us tea outside so we could see the lovely view. The bed was comfortable. The view was breathtaking. We took a nice walk up on the ridge. We want to spend a week there! We loved Mary's home and wonderful flowers that were blooming everywhere! Ww will be back.

  • As Mary's business card says, this is indeed a little slice of heaven, and we were sorry to leave after our short stay, as both the location and the hospitality were top notch, as the view from the door is just beautiful, and the interior of the house matches it perfectly in cosiness and comfort... 10/10 for Mary....highly recommended!

  • Mary is a wonderful host who takes exceptionally good care of her guests. Staying at her place was a very authentic and lovely experience. Breakfasts were delicious and very generous and if you decide to eat in the garden you'll enjoy an amazing view as well. Mary's place is perfect for nature and animal lovers, hikers and cyclers.

    Irma2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Mary was exceptional! We really felt we entered strangers and left friends....and I don't say that about every place and host. Mary's home is unique. A quaint and beautifully kept old farmhouse. We were looking for a rural experience and we're delighted.

    Pat2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • We were staying in Mary's house for our 10th anniversary getaway, and Mary pulled out all the stops to make this a special stay for us. When we arrived she said the room wasn't ready, and I thought she meant she had not yet changed the bedding, but we soon discovered she was lighting candles and putting out wine, glasses and an anniversary card for us! I was blown away by this gesture and it immediatly made our weekend very special. Mary continued to impress us with her friendliness, warmth, local knowledge and relaxed attitude. The house is so full of charm and interest, we found something new to enjoy at every turn. It is the authentic traditional farmhouse and like stepping back in time, but in luxury! The breakfast was delicious, especially the fresh eggs from Lily and Rosie the hens! Mary is definately a superhost, I seriously recommend a stay.

Separate en suite accommodation adjacent to old (1745) farmhouse on smallholding by the sea on North coast on Sheepshead Peninsula. No other guests. 10km from Bantry. No cooking facilities except tea/coffee. Please note that this is not a self-catering apartment, but we do provide an excellent cold breakfast Great hill walking area. Sorry, no dogs. As we are in a fairly remote area with very limited local bus services this is not recommended for those without transport.
Bedroom 14x14ft, twin beds which can be put side by side. Bathroom with shower/bath and bidet approx 10x10ft. Coffee/tea facilities but no cooking facilities. We provide, at no cost, an excellent light breakfast e.g. cereal, egg, croissant or bread, fruit, yoghurt and tea or coffee. WiFi available. Fridge. No television. Not ideal for young babies as we have no means for storage or disposal of nappies/diapers.
The Wild Atlantic Way, which passes by our gate, has had a lot of publicity recently so this is worth looking up. The Peninsula we are on, Sheepshead, is the smallest of the five peninsulas in South West Ireland. The Sheepshead Way is a well marked walk along the 'spine' of the peninsula. There are great views along this walk. There is a steep path, sometimes a bit overgrown, down to our rocky/shingle foreshore. Not recommended for the fainthearted. As stated this is temporarily out of commission Sheepshead and the adjacent Mizen and peninsulas are more off the beaten track and do not have the crowds of cars, buses and people that swarm over the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula. There is an excellent walk from a cafe with car park towards the end of the peninsula to the lighthouse at the extremity.
  • This is a beautiful secluded home with the most stunning views of Sheepshead Penninsula. Jeannie and Ian are kind and welcoming - I would 100% recommend staying here if you are traveling in the area - it is the perfect resting place!

  • Inoubliable!!!

  • We loved our stay here and enjoyed the scenic and peaceful location, with such beautiful views. Ian and Jeannie could not have been more welcoming and helpful, and their suggestions of places to visit and good places to eat were invaluable. The delicious and more than substantial breakfasts set us up for the day. We were guided in coming here by previous reviews, and can wholeheartedly recommend staying here. We're hoping to return.

  • Thanks a lot to Ian and Jeannie for their very warm welcoming. The lovely little house is in a very charming place, in front of the sea, with sheeps on the side. We loved having breakfast outside with chicken and sunshine. Everything was perfect!

  • Ian and Jenny were very pleasant host with good advice and always taking good care of us (clean towels every day, good and large breakfast every morning brought to our door...). The area is such a beautiful place. we enjoyed our 3 nights stay there a lot !

  • This is an Airbnb treasure. Ian and Jeanne were wonderful hosts that were readily available. The breakfast spread was so amazing and made with lots of love. When we stayed the weather was rough, but it was still very cozy and fun to explore Sheeps Head Way.

  • Heaven on Earth. The view is to die for from this comfortable Bothy overlooking Bantry Bay and the hills beyond. Ian and Jeanie are warm and wonderful hosts. Very kind. They serve a delicious breakfast with great porridge and eggs from the hens. Ian and Jeanie are full of helpful suggestions as to where to go, what to see, what to read. Hasta la vista!

  • This place is beautiful! This view was more then amazing. Ian and Jeannie are one of the most loveliest Hosts we ever met! Thank you, we will come back to Sheeps Head soon

  • Hayley is a warm and welcoming host whose energy is infectious. I enjoyed my stay a lot. We had interesting conversations and she took well care of me. It's a lovely farm and uniquely refreshing accomodation in Ireland. Amazing location with a seaview. Ideal for hikers.

  • The house is clean and cosy. Hayley is very friendly and kind. You will be in the countryside near the sea, a peaceful place. Kilkrohane is about 5 km away but it's a lovely walk and if you have problems finding your way Hayley will be happy to help :)

Homely four bedroom cottage overlooking the beautiful Dunmanus Bay. A destination for all seasons - cuddle up beside an open fire in winter, or in fairer weather enjoy award winning scenic walking routes the length of the peninsula.
Rosskerrig Holiday House is set in the idyllic surrounds of West Cork, on the Sheep’s Head Peninsula overlooking the beautiful Dunmanus Bay, between Ahakista and Kilcrohane villages. The charming house has a south facing aspect which allows for the best views of the picturesque countryside, across Dunmanus Bay to the Mizen Peninsula. The property includes three double rooms, two of which are ensuite, and a twin room. The property has central heating, as well an open fire (lovely for those brisk winters nights!) in the spacious living room, and a separate large kitchen / dining room with all mod-cons. The house comes equipped with washing machine and dryer, and iron should you have any laundry you need to clean. Keep an eye out for the bunny rabbits that may stop by, and keep an eye out for Dolphins on the bay!
It's peaceful, tranquil with endless fresh air! A warm welcome awaits in any of the local bars and restaurants, with food options available (happy to provide some local recommendations) to suit all budgets. In a addition to the many walking and cycling routes for which the peninsula is famous, other local leisure activities include, swimming, fishing, kayaking, sailing and cookery classes to name but a few... In addition to the many local sights and activities, the property is also an excellent stop-off point on the Wild Atlantic Way - a 2,500km tourism trail (driving route) along the west coast of Ireland, from Cork to Donegal, which takes in some of the countries most breath taking scenery. The peninsula offers 87km of walking tracks, which stretch from Bantry out to the lighthouse at the most westerly tip of the peninsula. There is also a great selection of shorter walking loops to choose from.
  • Mary and Fiona's place is great. A big house, clean and an amazing view. We really loved the place. And Fiona pointed to us some nice spots to have dinner. We stayed for a small week but could stay longer. Beautiful surrounding!

  • Had a great time in Ahakista. The hosts were great and the house was exactly what we needed. Highly recommended.

  • Amazing! Mary and Micheal were perfect hosts and we had absolutely everything we needed. The view was spectacular and plenty to do around the area if you have a car. Would come back again and recommend it to others!

  • There are not enough good things to say about this listing. The property is in a perfect location for viewing the bay and ocean. They have thought of every amenity and provide a top-notch level of comfort. There are many walking trails around the area on the Sheepshead peninsula. Some driving is required to get into Bantry. There is a very nice movie theater there as well as many shops (grocery, shoes, clothing, photo, Irish wares, etc.) We will be back.

    Patrick2017-01-04T00:00:00Z
Wir kommen definitiv wieder und vorallem wieder zu Micheal und Mary Micheal was a very nice and helpful host. The house is situated on a hillside with a 180 degree view over the entire bay. From most of the bedrooms , the living room and the dining table you've got sea views ! Just amazing! All the rooms are nicely decorated and very clean . It's the same in the rest of the house. The location is very good . Bantry can be reached in about 20 minutes . Fishing on the pier and the famous Sheepshead is only 15 - 20 minutes away. We will definitely come back again and especially thanks to Micheal for his hints for excursions.

    Dennis2015-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • I loved Ahakista and especially loved staying at Mary and Micheal's beautiful appointed house overlooking the ocean and hills with cows, bunnies and sheep. This was probably the best vacation we've ever taken--- it was so relaxing, everything was easy to find (and they really do have everything you need to cook, bake and relax), the fireplace was so nice to settle in front of during the wet and windy weather, and we had loads of space to stretch out in! We came with our nearly 2 year-old daughter, and she was in love right away. She slept better than she does at home (because it's really quiet and perfectly dark), and she would get up each day to moo with the cows, and take a walk in the rain. Mary and Micheal were so nice to provide us with a cot for her and a high chair. Really lovely house, area and hosts! We will definitely be coming back :-)

My place is on the award-winning Sheeps Head walkway and cycle routes. You’ll enjoy the panoramic views of the hills, the Mizen peninsula, the location, the outdoor space, the peace and quiet of the countryside and easy access to the coast. My place is good for couples and solo adventurers. You will need your own transport as public transport is not available beyond the local town of Bantry. In Bantry there are two large hotels with indoor pool and gym facilities open to visitors, and a cinema
My studio apartment offers tranquility in an unspoiled rural setting, and easy access to excellent walk and cycle routes. I enjoy sharing my knowledge of local places that you can visit to make the most of your holiday. The accommodation is self-contained with its own front door and outside parking/seating area, accessed from a shared driveway. It is a split-level open plan space, with the bedroom accessed via a staircase, a wet room with electric shower and heater, a kitchen with basic cooking facilities and an open lounge/dining area, lit by a wall of glass windows that slide back to allow easy access to the outside.
The Sheep's Head is part of the Wild Atlantic Way, a driving route that takes in the south west, west and north-west coasts of Ireland, with many loop drives and spectacular scenery. From this peninsula you can easily access the Mizen and Beara peninsulas, with many pretty villages, fishing ports and ferries to seven inhabited islands. Kayaking, yachting, swimming and line fishing are all available locally. There is a good golf course in Bantry that welcomes visitors and can arrange a local to play a round with. Local people are friendly and welcome visitors. There is a market on Fridays in Bantry, and a fair range of shops, restaurants and bars. There is wonderful light and little light pollution, so clear nights are great for star-gazing.
  • Patricia is a very kind and welcoming host. We really enjoyed our stay at her accommodation, as it is a very cosy, clean, lovely furnished and quiet place to relax and to enjoy the stunning nature. Thank you Pat for your great hospitality!

  • An Tigan ticks every box if you're looking for a place from which to explore the spectacular scenery on the Sheep's Head Peninsula. There are many walks within easy reach and several pubs and restaurants serving good food are only a short drive away. Patricia is a lovely welcoming host, full of tips on what to visit and where to eat. The accommodation is modern, clean and very well equipped. Recommended!

  • Patricia's place is perfect for a stay on the Sheep's Head - one of the most beautiful places in the world! Patricia went out of her way to make us comfortable. The space is small and cozy, but it has everything you need. The bed is very comfortable, and the area provides lovely places to walk just around the house. We had an amazing time, and I recommend Patricia's place highly!

  • Loved this place - super cute, beautiful location, very tidy. Pat went out of her way to make us very welcome. The lounge area is very cosy and peaceful. There was a little heater and blankets for chilly nights. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook supper both nights, and a basket of eggs, bread, juice etc on arrival. Local peninsula had some great walks and coastal drive. Great little pub overlooking the water a couple of minutes away. Hub was very content. Asked him if he'd like to comment. After much thought: "Distinct lack of local nightclubs". Made me chuckle. Definitely recommended for a peaceful stay in a beautiful location. Thanks Pat!

  • An Tigin is a really lovely place with everything you could need for a break. The location is perfect to explore the beautiful walks on the Sheep's Head peninsula. The house was very clean, well equipped and beautifully decorated. Patricia was very welcoming and shared with us some useful tips that helped us make the most of our weekend break in West Cork. We just wish we could have stayed there longer! Many thanks, Pat.

  • An Tigin is perfect as a base for travels, adventures and explorations in and around Bantry, Sheep's Head and West Cork in general. Patricia was very helpful before my arrival and gave me excellent (critical) directions - the house is truly tucked away! And what a location! An incredible part of the world! The house is wonderful, well equipped and a modern build. It is perfect for pottering about in, or heading out from. Bantry is 15-20 minutes away - a beautiful drive! A car is a must, as it is in West Cork in general. There is great walking to be done in the local area and interesting places to visit. Patricia was kind and available to help and chat as and when necessary. Do yourself a favour and take some well earned time out - book a couple of days in An Tigin! I have no hesitation in recommending Patricia and her lovely little house - 10/10!!

  • Staying at An Tigin has been a wonderful experience. It it situated at a beautiful peninsula with plenty of of opportunities for walking. The scenery is simply stunning and yet it is not overrun by tourist but on the contrary very peaceful. With Bantry being just 15 minutes by car it is not too remote - cafes, restaurants and some shopping opportunities are to be found there. The house itself is very tastefully decorated has modern facilities, overall a very good standard and just the perfect fit for us. Last but not least Patricia has been a wonderful host: always keen to help with tips for day trips and up for a friendly chat. Overall our time at An Tigin has been the highlight of our stay in Ireland - highly recommendable!

We, Joe & Agnes, along with our family restored our Farmhouse in 1990, keeping typical charming farmhouse characteristics (stone fireplace with log & peat fires, slate floors, open ceiling beams & traditional thick stone walls). 'Bioran Room' is perfect for 3. Our listings also include 'Roskerig Room' (3), plus Hillcrest Farmhouse (7). This tranquil setting allows you to enjoy magnificent views of sea/hills while taking time out for total relaxation. Awarded 'Farmhouse of the Year 2018'.
Hello Guests, If you are looking to get away from hustle and bustle of life, then this is the place for you. 'Bioran room' on the West Wing of Hillcrest Farmhouse is nestled in the rocky hillside (Bioran) with spectacular views over Dunmanus Bay & Ahakista Harbour. 'Bioran Room' on the West Wing of Hillcrest Farmhouse, is a large private bedroom (double and single bed) with Bath and Power Shower enclosure. WiFi, TV, Clock radio, linen & towels, and tea/coffee making facilities. Bedroom door leads onto the large patio with seating/dining, which adjoins the large mature garden. Here you will enjoy the evening sun in abundance while viewing the many wild rabbits and singing birds. Breakfast is self-service in our award winning beautiful dining/sitting room. There you will find everything you wish for:- well stocked fridge; also juices, fruits, cereals & homemade breads. Toaster, kettles and microwave. Linen, towels and toiletries supplied. Room also has TV and Wifi. If you have a larger group, a second room can be booked:- 'Roskerig Room' (advertised separately on Airbnb) is also a large room with same description as 'Bioran Room'. Also, for a much larger group, please check out our Airbnb advertisement of 'Hillcrest Farmhouse' which is the ‘South wing’ of the entire building.

The Black Gate Loft is a self catering accommodation situated in the recently renovated community owned Alice West Centre which is located on the picturesque, peaceful and unspoilt Sheep’s Head peninsula in West Cork. PRICE: €40 per person per night €450 per week (based on two sharing)
A brief history: The “Old Butter House” building at the Blackgate dates from the 1890’s. It was once a busy trading centre for the people from the North and West of the peninsula who were able to sell home produced butter and eggs there. In 1968 English born artist, Alice Moore West bought and restored the building for use as a rural craft museum. For many years the Black gate Museum was her home as well as being open to the public. She encouraged young people to learn craft skills in her basement workshop and was an enthusiastic patron of traditional music. On her death she left the building to the community to continue her work. The Community Council has renamed the Old Butter House the Alice West Centre and today, in the recently renovated building many of Alice West’s paintings are displayed alongside her collection of rural antiquities. The peninsula is home to the Sheep’s Head Way walking route which is justly famous, and the peninsula has been designated as a European Destination of Excellence in recognition of the unspoilt and spectacular nature of the landscape in this beautiful part of West Cork. The area is steeped in history, with an an abundance of interesting sites - stone circles and gallauns; ringforts and castles, holy wells, copper mines and signal towers. The population of the area is approximately 1200 people and the “locals” are a very eclectic and diverse group of farmers, fishermen, musicians, artists and a celebrity or two! The colourful villages of Durrus, Ahakista and Kilcrohane en route provide local amenities including the local farmers market, galleries, cafes, restaurants and bars. Directions to The Black Gate, Kilcrohane on the Sheep’s Head peninsula: Nearest town is Bantry. From Cork take the N71 to Bantry (or at Bandon take the R586 to Dunmanway, Drimoleague, Bantry). Approx 3km outside Bantry on the Cork side turn left onto the R591 - following signs for Sheep’s Head/Durrus. In Durrus take the right hand fork toward Ahakista/Kilcrohane
community spirit, there is always something going on especially in the summer.... the criac in the local pubs is great.
  • Magical. The view from the bedroom window was remarkable. You must have a car to get there, but it was worth it.

  • a Home away from Home, everything you need or want is provided. Communicating with Annette was great. The view from the bedroom window is amazing as well as cosy nights beside the stove. Would highly recommend this property, a true gem !

  • We had a wonderful time at the Black Gate Loft in Kilcrohane. Annette helped us with everything from the very beginning and the communication was just perfect, she was always ready to help and made our stay really comfortable. The house is beautiful and has everything you may need. The views are amazing. If you think the ones in the pictures are good, wait to see the real ones! The Sheep Head Peninsula is the perfect place if you like to hike. Mountains, lakes, cliffs, the sea, you have it all. And of course a couple of nice pubs to chat with the forthcoming locals in the evening. We would definitely come back and heartily recommend the place!

Super!

  • Perfect spot right in the village of Kilcrohane. I didn't see Elaine until we left as we were out alot, but she texted me several times to make sure we were all OK for everything. The house is literally steps from the shop and local pub, an extra few steps to The Creamery cafe. Very clean and well kept, would stay again!

  • Just a big thank you to our host Elaine. The photographs of the accommodation and the area did not do justice to our experience. Our visit was perfect in every way. The house is fully stocked with everything you will need. I haven't been to Cork before but will definitely go back. The accommodation is a lot bigger than we thought from the photos. Anyone visiting the area will not find anything better!!

    Denise2016-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Elaine's cottage was in perfect conditions when we arrived, even the heat was one (special thanks for that! ). Bedrooms were very comfy and had plenty of storage and toilets were perfectly clean. The only thing that I would have liked to be different was the fire place. A few wooden blocks would have been better, although it was not bad at all with the briquettes. Elaine is a lovely woman, she left a welcome present and a card for us and was very helpful at any time, despite we arrived on the 25th of December. Massive thanks, Elaine :) We had an amazing time in Kilcrohane, with live music and dancing in the local pubs. We felt very welcomed. Much gratitude to all xx

  • We enjoyed our stay in kilcrohane. The house is conveniently located in the village and next to fantastic walks on the sheep's head.

  • Bayview cottage sits right in the middle of the beautiful little village of kilcrohane. Elaine had the house ready for us upon our arrival. When we met elaine it was like meeting a long lost friend. She made us feel right at home in this gorgeous part of west cork. The house has a great view of dunmanus bay. The kitchens and bathrooms are well equipped and the house is very spacious. Elaine gave us great advice on things to do, places to visit, places to eat, local taxi numbers... she was terrific. We got to know the characters in the village by hanging out in Eileen's bar and partaking in the sing song on Saturday night. The entire sheeps head peninsula is stunning and Elaine's hospitality made our stop in this gorgeous part of the world even better. We will be back!

Spectacularly located on the Wild Atlantic Way and within easy reach of the scenic seaside market town of Bantry. Ideal location for family-friendly activities like sightseeing, walking, hiking, fishing, boating and touring. Great golf courses within easy reach. You’ll love my place because the scenery and views over Dunmanus Bay are so amazing. My place is good for couples and solo adventurers.
This unusual property was rebuilt 10 years ago from an old farm building into a space suitable for tourism rental. The property features a large room with a comfy queen sized bed, a table & chairs, a futon sofa (convertible) and a cosy wood burning stove. A TV and DVD player are available for entertainment. An adjacent fully fitted kitchenette features most mod cons including laundry facilities. The bathroom features a separate power-shower stall.
  • Such a lovely home in this wonderful piece of Irish nature. No doubt it is one of the most interesting and authentic places to stay in Ireland. The price is really cheap for this place and is perfect for young couples, hikers and also old people (as my 80 years old grandmother enjoyed the staying). I will come back as soon as possible ! Thank you John, hope we meet again some day in Kilcrohane or somewhere else.

The Pinewood cottage is also lovely and cozy, you have a spectacular view on the see and lots kitchen equipment. Especially the washing machine was something we didn't expected but we appreciated a lot.

Crosswinds overlooking Dunmanus bay and the Wild Atlantic Way offers a quiet, rural retreat for people who appreciate the countryside. Set in about five acres of paddocks and woodland we offer a location that people can explore at will (in wellies at times). We offer a double bedroom with en suite shower and toilet also guest sitting area with TV, Wifi, Tea, Coffee and Fridge.
A full Irish breakfast is included in the price. An evening meal with the family can be pre arranged with six hours notice and paid for separately. We are located up a lane (Mine Road L8451) off the Wild Atlantic Way close to Blairs Cove House and Restaurant and 1.5 miles from the village of Durrus. We built this house and now have lived here for 18 years and would be very happy to advise on places to visit and explore in the area.
We are located on the Mount Corrin Loop Walk part of the Sheeps Head Walk and would be happy to drop off or pick up walkers at pre-arranged meeting points and times
  • The House is in a very quiet area. Wonderful to get in vacation mood. Valerie and Martyn are nice people who are always good for a chat with a cup of tea. The room was like described with an own bathroom. We got an amazing Irish breakfast, almost better then in a restaurant! (Thanks for this) Also you can get good Insider Tipps for the surroundings and nature. The two dogs are lovely, very friendly and happy. Warning: Cuddle alarm ;) We really enjoyed our time there and recommend everyone to have a stay.

A traditional Irish cottage, beautiful & comfortable set in grounds of a former Hunting Lodge. Stunning sea views . Ideal for families and activities like walking, cycling, horse riding, fishing. Ten minutes drive to Schull & the Mizen . See also our Chalet - (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) and newly refurbished The Stables
A traditional Irish cottage set in the grounds of a Georgian Hunting Lodge formerly owned by Lord Bandon, sleeps up to 3 people. This unique property on the Mizen Head Peninsula is set in 17 acres of grounds. Walks around the property in a beautiful setting with stunning views out to the Atlantic overlooking Dunmanus Bay. It is ideal for animal lovers who can stroll around looking at our menagerie of animals, including donkeys, ducks, chickens & sheep. In addition to the cottage we can also offer additional the Garden Chalet which can accommodate up to two guests also the stables ( www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/4756469 ). The chalet is ideal for larger groups or families who need additional beds or space.
The property is ideally situated near to Schull. Bantry which is a large market town is only twenty minutes drive away. There are many activities in the area which are only a short drive away. These include golf, sailing, whale watching, cookery courses, pottery, outlet shopping and stunning beaches. There are music, literary, film festivals in the summer close by.
  • We just spent 4 nights at the Rock Cottage Country House. It was a wonderful time for us. It is a fully self contained cottage that sleeps 3. The cottage has a fully fitted kitchen suitable for cooking, a BBQ grill, a cosy fireplace for cold Irish evenings, and 3 beds (double and single super comfy) in an upstairs loft area. The bathroom was large with plenty of hot water with good pressure. Jackie also has another independent cottage that can sleep two more people if needed. The setting is perfect for exploring the Schull area. It is situated on a large property and Jackie is available if needed. There are donkeys to feed, chickens and ducks who like the food scraps and a great system of recycling all rubbish to minimise our impact locally. Jackie was very prompt in all her replies and everything was organized perfectly for our stay. She also has a great laundry room which you can use for a small extra fee. Whilst staying we would recommend the Schull Sunday market, great for picnic supplies if you want to head off afterwards. Also go to Ballyrissop beach which is about 10 minutes drive from the cottage. You can be brave like the Irish and put on your swimmers to bathe or like me, huddle in your coat and beanie and enjoy the beautiful view. We would recommend a visit to O'Sullivans pub to have lunch by the wharf/water in Crookhaven. We also did a great walk in Glengariff Nature Reserve. Schull is a cute town, as is Ballydehop. If you choose the Schull peninsula area we would unequivocallly recommend Jackie's place. Great spot, awesome accommodation and lovely service. My son is already planning a return visit and we hope to return again as well. Thanks Jackie.

  • Rock Cottage was the perfect base from which to explore the Wild Atlantic Way. Jacquie and Jonathan are excellent hosts - even going so far as to give my wife a card for her birthday! The home is comfortable and well appointed - we loved falling asleep beneath the large skylights, whether staring at the stars or listening to the rain. Being a farm, we loved being around so many animals - we'll miss our daily chat with Bambi and Barney (though they'll probably miss the carrots more.) The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed hiking around the property. In all, we couldn't have asked for a better home away from home. Highly recommend!

  • Jackie and Jonathan were perfect hosts and always on hand, if needed, with lots of helpful advice. The cottage was superb - clean, cosy, furnished to a high standard and well equipped. The beds were really comfortable. The location was fantastic - a peaceful retreat, near beautiful beaches and vibrant and friendly towns. Being able to wander around the grounds for magnificent views and visit the animals was a special feature for us. Thank you.

Utterly peaceful location hidden within cul-de-sac and private lane, surrounded only by farms. Both hill walking and the seaside are right on your doorstep. Beautiful towns such as Schull, Skibereen and Bantry are all within driving distance. The most beautiful beach in West Cork (Barley Cove) is not far away with the small dreamy bays also in close proximity. The rocky coast can be reached by foot where dolphins, sea otters, seals, Northern gannets, whales and basking sharks can be sighted.
Skyfall Cottage is situated next to the lodge, which is occupied by the proprietors. Living/ dining room with satellite TV (Irish and German), big kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, fridge with freezer, dishwasher, food processor, toaster, kitchen scales, cutlery and all necessary kitchen utensils. Master bedroom with double/ King Size bed (150 cm wide), further bedroom with bunkbed (two single beds at 90 cm wide). Bathroom with sink, toilet and shower. Hand towels, hairdryer, shampoo and toilet paper are always provided. The entire country house has been fully renovated with no expense spared. Large terrace in front of the living/dining room with extensive view of the valley, bay and sea. All rooms have a window! Internet connection for guests.
Our diet here is completely gluten-free and we offer our guests gluten-free products on request. These include bread, rolls, cake, flour etc. directly from us. Fruit, vegetables, eggs etc. from the farm are entirely organic. We catch all of our fish ourselves and our autumn apples are from our very own harvest. We offer guiding to those who would like to go fishing as well as equipment (in each a case there will be a charge). You will be living in the countryside, close to bays and the sea in complete tranquillity.
  • Birgit and Stefans annexe felt like a home in itself. Sparklingly clean, beautifully done up and the location was just spectacular , with a sit out that overlooked a small bay . The sunsets were mesmerising sitting there . The chickens, geese and lovely dog Ben only added to the relief of being so close to nature. A wonderful, kind and helpful family , with their three girls, SKYFALL is a precious and beautiful gem.

  • If you're looking for a calm place with a beautifull view for relax and enjoy the south of Ireland, this is the place that you're looking for. The house is great and the owners are very welcoming. If you need something, the owners are right next door. We spent 9 fabulous days there and it was very pleasant. You can enjoy the quiet of the counrtyside while being close to beautifull small villages. The house is near Mizen head, the beautiful barleycove beach and sheep's head. If you want to make a little road trip not too far you have also the Beara peninsula, a must to see. The house have all you need to spent a nice journey and the glass doors in the main room allow you to enjoy the view at all time. The owners Brigit and Stefan were really kind to us and we really appreciated, they are nice people. Sorry if my English is a little bit weird I speak french so I hope is not too bad. 10/10 for the place and people. ❤

The place was bright and airy, clean and well appointed - even though fully booked it was very quiet and peaceful. I had a lovely breakfast and chatted with the owners and the other guests and had a really nice start to the day.
