If you appreciate beauty, inside and out, our rustic-modern cabin is perfect for you. It's cozy enough for 2 and spacious enough for up to 8. The cabin is surrounded by forest and looks out to the meadows and Hills. If you want comfort, outdoor living space, beauty, peace and quiet, we encourage you to come make yourself at home!
You'll love the cabin on Bluebird Ridge! It's a beautiful, peaceful refuge where you will enjoy a quiet place to slow down and savor life's simple pleasures. Explore the 5 acre grounds and hundreds of forest service acres surrounding you. No traffic noise...just the sound of the birds and the wind in the pines...even during the Sturgis Rally. Our few 'neighbors' will only be a twinkling light in the distance. Come sit under the canopy of the Milky Way!
You will have access to the entire 1,000 square foot cabin with great outdoor living space on the deck as well as the 5 acre Grounds with your own Fire Pit, 'Kids Koup' playhouse , tree swing and gardens.
Note: 'The Nest' Loft bedroom with King sized bed is for adults ONLY as there is a steep staircase and we don't want children (or elderly guests) getting injured. The cabin is perfect for 2 families when you include the 'Nest'. You can't beat the view of the Hills or the starry night sky from up there!
HORSES WELCOME! We are happy to board your horses in our coral/pasture area for a small fee.
Enjoy some time away from city life and tourist bustle. We are conveniently located 15 minutes from Custer & Wind Cave National Park, 25 minutes from Custer State Park & Crazy Horse, 40 minutes to Mount Rushmore and close to many other attractions! Enjoy hundreds of miles of Forest Service land and trails right out your door! Go four-wheeling, hiking, horseback riding and winter cross-country skiing/snow shoeing.
We are a beautiful, 15 minute drive from town. Four wheel drive is definitely recommended if you are visiting in the winter months. The wonderful, 100-mile Mickelsen Trail weaves all through the Black Hills and is just 10 minutes down the road, so bring your bikes!
When available, you'll arrive to farm fresh eggs in the refrigerator and some fresh garden produce. Nothing like life in the country!
We also have a wonderful, onsite babysitter for those much needed Date nights (in or out!)
If you have horses and would like to board them, we will gladly share our pasture for a small fee. Bring your own hay. Just email or call after you've booked your stay.
Enjoy the cozy fireplace, outdoor firepit, large deck and garden. The kids will love the 'Kids Koup' playhouse and tree swing. Room to play, hike or rest!

We will be here to greet you upon arrival to be sure you have everything you need to feel right at home. Your privacy is respected and we appreciate having you as our guest.
There is so much to do in the Southern Black Hills that you'll wish you had stayed longer. Custer State Park, Crazy Horse, Mt. Rushmore, Wind Cave National Park and many other attractions are nearby. You'll appreciate a great place to come home to!
Un giro nei dintorni
From the highway, there are a few miles of gravel road to get to the cabin and a rough country road the last bit. So, if you don't like adventure or being off the paved roads, our cabin is not for you. We think it's a lovely drive, so you won't mind. However, you will want an AWD if you're coming in the winter.

You can smoke outside...absolutely no smoking in the cabin! No crazy loud music or parties. Our area is very quiet and sound carries, so we need to respect our surrounding neighbors. Always check with the Hosts to see if a campfire is allowed by the Forest Service during your stay. We'll provide the firewood. Please show respect for the wildlife and property.

My husband Kim and I love our country life. We appreciate the value of having a place of quiet refuge and enjoy providing that to others. When our children and grandchildren aren't here visiting, we are honored to host other visitors to our beautiful Black Hills.
We also enjoy gardening, hiking and camping. Each day is a gift and each person a treasure!
