Wingham Village has many historic properties. For cyclists Cycle Route 1 is close and there are many other cycle routes around. There is a children's playground with swings,tennis and cricket in the sports field. Howletts Zoo and Wingham Wildlife Park are a short drive. Canterbury City is 3 miles by bus or car, with its Cathedral and Monastery, theatres, music venues. 13 Golf courses are close by. Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs with beaches, sea fishing, water sports abound. Pretty local villages have many good quality pubs with excellent food.
Buses are frequent to Canterbury City, Sandwich medieval town, Deal, Dover. Trains from London, Gatwick run to Canterbury, Ashford, Sandwich and Dover. Cycling is a pleasure around the trails or country lanes.
The Anchor Pub in Wingham has music most nights and holds a festival in summer months. Sandwich also has music venues and an old cinema.
Deal, Walmer and Dover have castles to visit and there are many historic gardens and houses to visit.
Westwood Cross is a new out of town shopping area with all the shops you need, a casino and cinema.
