This is an authentic, rustic Kiwi bach. Largely unchanged since mid last century, the bach is loaded with character and quirky features. Unplugged - there is currently no phone, internet or cell coverage, but WIFI hotspot nearby.

I live in the adjoining apartment, I'm a tour guide with 26 yrs experience, hold a DoC concession for guiding in the Paparoa National Park, and offer private tours locally. Beach and river mouth access; Pancake Rocks, cafe, shop and visitor centre are walking distance away.

Our home is 'on the beach' and is situated midway between Greymouth and Punakaiki. We offer a self contained unit on the ground floor of our home. The beach is just a few steps away and is great for walking. Punakaiki is 20 minutes from the house, Greymouth is also 20 minutes and Hokitika airport is a 50 minute drive to the south. Greymouth offers a range of eateries and there is a pub at Barrytown. We are situated on state high way 6, which is well known for its spectacular scenery.

The Bush Hideaway is a lovely relaxing private holiday house, about 10kms from Punakaiki and the famous pancake rocks. Set on 12 acres of spectacular West Coast rainforest, it has some views to the Tasman sea, from the deck, though primarily a bush setting. On a clear day you can see Mt Cook! Spacious, warm & airy in summer, cosy and warm in winter with a log burner. Plenty of indoor and outdoor living spaces with free wifi. Built in the 1990's for a much travelled wonderful woman.
