Oxoboxo Lake: soggiorni in cottage

Place was very well cared for, kitchen and bathrooms were spotless and had everything needed. The views of the lake are GORGEOUS. Felt like home, we had a great time even with the bad weather.

We loved this airbnb and stayed for 3 weeks. It sits right on the edge of the marsh with an extraordinary view. We greatly enjoyed how a short walk away is Chaffinch Island, which is a gorgeous park full of tides pools and hackberry trees. The space was clean and comfortable and Mary was a fantastic host. You can see a lighthouse on an island 3 miles out sea from all the rooms, even the main bed.

Just as listed...small cottage by the water and the view was stunning! I liked relaxing in the swim spa or by the calming lights and sounds of the fake electric fire-- definite cozy vibes! The kitchen is clean and well stocked with utensils etc. Feyza was great about checking in. Thanks!

Location , location, location. Beautiful lake view from almost every window. Wonderful hot tub on the lake!!! Seriously so close to everything. The cabin had everything we needed plus!!! Easy access, quiet area. Come to relax and enjoy time as a couple or family here!

Our family of five loved staying at Yoka and Val's place. The location is very quiet with a peaceful pond across the street. The house itself is very clean and comfortable with everything you need - towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, coffee and spices - easily available. The beds were also very comfortable. The best part, of course, was the private hot tub in the back yard. It was set in a canopy for extra privacy and wind protection. We loved it. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.

This well-appointed space is perfect for two people. Old Lyme is justly famous for its Florence Griswold Museum, as well as one of the better historic main street walking tours. (Currently, there's an exhibit at the museum about Old Lyme's slave-owning past.) And, then, of course, there's the ocean. Remember to ask your hosts about their beach parking pass. P.S. You may also need to bring your own coffee for the drip system.

Was the perfect little get away for us. And it was nice to find a place that accommodated the dogs so well. We appreciated being able to get to places easily but at the same time have a peaceful place to return to.

Such a great stay! The area is beautiful, and you can see the water right from the front deck. The Airbnb itself is so cute, with great little touches, like a coffee bar, fire pit, and great views. It was a really peaceful stay, and our pups loved it too.

This was our second stay here and it was just as nice as the first. Really responsive host and we love sitting outside at night with a drink enjoying the beautiful view. Nice spot where you don't even need to drive anywhere if you want to experience Mystic and even the seaport if you are up for a 20 minute walk. A+ again, thanks so much!

This was my fifth stay in Jeanne's wonderful cottage! The cottage gets better and better each time I visit: a newly renovated bathroom, redecoration in lighter/brighter colors, etc. The home is extremely well stocked - every kitchen item you might need (including loads of glasses/plates/silverware, pots/pans, etc.), thick towels, extra blankets and throws, and lots of cleaning and paper products. There are plenty of cozy places to sit and relax, both indoors and out. The best thing of all is Jeanne herself, who is without a doubt the most generous host I've encountered on AirBnB. She is friendly, communicates proactively, and is quick to respond to any issues/questions. She truly opens her home to her guests, encouraging visitors to use the space fully and to make themselves at home. The cottage is an easy walk to the beach ane/or to town and is lovely, homey, and peaceful. I'll definitely return!

This is a lovely historic building in peaceful surroundings. It's spacious and clean inside, with comfortable beds and couches. If you have problems with steep stairs it might be tricky, but there are two handrails to help. The only bathroom is downstairs - something to keep in mind if you need to get up at night. The host was very responsive about some minor repair issues we reported. I'd be happy to stay there again!

This has hands down been the best winter Airbnb I’ve ever had. Even though it has a beach theme, this could easily double as a winter wonderland cabin. I came here with my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday and before we left we were already planning our next trip back! This is hands down the cleanest feeling airbnb we’ve ever stayed at. They really put effort into making this place feel like a loved home. Everywhere you look theres a nod to the theme in home! The heating/cooling in the house is seriously impressive. The customizable fireplace upstairs (be careful on the stairs!) was a dream. Stargazing at night was incredible. I missed the sunset sleeping in on the incredible bed but the sunrise was AMAZING. Direct view on the front porch! Seeing the moon through the skylight while still being comfy on the couch and watching tv was absolutely terrific. From the endless amenities to the delicious food in the area, I can’t stop praising this place. Thank you guys for the great stay!

We stayed here as we needed a stop over. The house is isolated and the terrace overlooking the river is fully private. We had a great time sitting outside and enjoying the peace. Bonus: it’s walking distance to the nearest beach. Would recommend and stay here again.

We had a lovely time spending the long weekend on Shelter Island. This private bungalow is on a property w other homes, but you still have privacy and feel secluded. The beds were so comfortable and the house was stocked with everything you need for your stay. The host was gracious and very responsive which I really appreciate. We would love to stay here again. It looked just like the photos and was so clean! I also loved the color theme for each room. Thank you again!

We knew we weren't going to be on the beach but we wanted to be near the beaches and we were. The cottage was a little Gem in a secluded area off a main road with a private neighborhood behind. The landscaping was so adorable with Adirondack chairs and a fire pit w/ outdoor bbq & seating area. It was cutely decorated with a newer kitchen & ALL the things needed for your stay! The loft bedroom was so cool & games in the L.R.! Our family had a wonderful gathering and fun stay. The beaches were beautiful and we got to bring our dog, Freedom along for the fun! We'd stay here again!

Our first ever stay at 'Hop Skip and Jump' really met all of our expectations and needs for the week of 8/10-8/17/24! I have never in my 70+ years of spending a summer week in Old Lyme been so enveloped with 5 star luxury while at the Beach! I would recommend this rental to any small family or a group of girlfriends! Hop

If you are looking for simplicity (which we were) this is the perfect place to. I’ve always wanted to stay at a lake house. We couldn’t have asked for more. Serene, tranquil, beautiful are the proper descriptions of the house and the area. We came to Connecticut to visit my daughter and family and they ended up coming to our place instead. Jason was extremely helpful when needed. We would definitely stay there again!

Raj’s place is a cute little cottage tucked back off the main road. It was super comfortable and clean. The inside is nice decorated and a bit of a surprise from the plain exterior. Raj is in the process of renovating an old motel and the cottage is the first to be completed- it will all be great when done but not what you might expect now at first glance today. Raj is rightly proud of the work being done. He is a super communicated with lots of area suggestions and helpful hints. The cottage had fresh flowers, fruit, and even cloth napkins. Really everything we needed for a comfortable overnight stay.

Can’t say enough about Michael and our stay. He made everything seem-less and was super helpful with recommendations and accommodations. We can’t wait to come back next year or this summer! Hopefully many years to come! 5 stars!

We had lovely time at Fran’s cottage. The gardens and hardscaping on the is so elegant. The light windows in all directions on the top floor was a delight. And view of the beach with the sound right there was beautiful.
