Misty Mountain Hut - Ruapehu

Misty Mountain Hut-Ruapehu is located in the sleepy little village of Rangataua, 5 minutes distance to Mountain road going up to the Turoa skifield and Ohakune. The 1 bedroom colonial villa has a beautiful view of the mountain. Unlimited wifi and a new firebox with plenty of firewood and a heat pump ensure you are warm in winter. My favourite time here is summer for amazing walks/cycling up mountains to enjoy majestic views. Misty Mountain Hut supports local staff by paying $40/hr for cleaning.

Enjoy some time away with family and friends in this modern, new home. Warm up by the fire after a day up the mountain. Sit and enjoy a cup of coffee with spectacular mountain views. Enjoy a short walk to the iconic Carrot Park or for a famous Chocolate Eclair. Cafes and eateries are short walk or drive. If you feel like something homemade, then we have a full kitchen and BBQ facilities. Store your bikes or boards in our secure storage facilities on the property. Sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Shannon Cottage (summer)

Comfortable cosy cottage beside Mt Ruapehu. Ideal for bikers, Tongariro Crossing hikers or photographers exploring the local scenery. Independent so you can come and go at will. Full kitchen (though basic with retro fridge and no dishwasher), TV, DVDs and Chromecast, unlimited wifi, laundry, heating & aircon. One double room and one room with 2 singles (that can push together), plus a couch bed in the living room and a travel cot. From mid-May to Oct book 'Shannon Cottage (winter)' instead.

Our place is close to the great Tongariro National Park. It includes Mt Ruapehu for skiing or snow boarding and tramping. Walk the world famous Tongariro Crossing and discover the cycle ways, kayak the Whanganui River and explore the 'Bridge to No Where'. Try trout fishing, a game of golf or visit the Waiouru Army Museum. Enjoy our cosy home with a wood fire whilst taking in the amazing mountain and rural views. Our place is good for couples and families (with kids) or small groups.

Bombardino Chalet is an architecturally designed chalet in a peaceful cul-de-sac, located close to Old Coach Road, Mangawhero River track, main shops and right on the road to Turoa Ski Field. Enjoy a warm, sunlit open-plan living area with a cozy fireplace, opening onto a large balcony with views of Mt Ruapehu. After an epic day of adventures, unwind in the private spa pool. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to impress family and friends with a delicious meal. Salut!

Kowhai Haven

Bring the whole family to this new home with beautiful views of the countryside and Mt Ruapehu. There is a cycleway directly outside, easy access to the 'Manawhero River' Walking Track and a 1 minute drive to either the centre of town or the base of Mount Ruapehu. The house offers an open plan living area flowing to a large mountain facing deck. Two bathrooms with a dedicated drying area, perfect for adventure filled weekends. Off street parking for up to 2 vehicles. Linen provided.

Waireka Apartment

Waireka Apartment, situated in Ohakune in the Ruapehu District is a self contained 2 bedroom apartment each with a queen size bed, a large lounge with mountain views, kitchen and own spa pool. Spa Pool operates from 10am to 10pm Cleaning on departure is included in the rate. There is space for 7 guests and the location is handy to town and the Turoa ski field road. In cold weather snuggle up with plenty of throws, cushions and a warm electric fire. No parties allowed. The Tree House is set on a small hill in the tree tops, requiring being able to climb multiple steps for access through the bush. At the top you receive stunning views of the surrounding forest. This eco house generates its own electricity and is designed to capture the sun. The two person wood fired hot tub is the perfect way to relax after a day skiing or climbing the Tongariro Crossing.
