On sunny days you can sit out on the deck chairs with your preferred drink or down on the bench in the small garden. If you are here in the summer you will be able to pick some strawberries - we planted them for our guests!

Explore the lakes district, Moeraki or Dunedin .Riverstone Castle is also worth a visit. Could be a lovely relaxing stay for some much needed R & R.

Guests can wander the gardens, walk down to the lake and sit on the boardwalk to take in the scenery, wildlife and glorious sunsets.

Enjoy stunning coastal views from every room at this cosy cottage located at Campbells Bay, Kakanui. Curl up by the fire in the cooler months and watch the weather roll in while listening to the sounds of the ocean, cook up a storm on the large wood-fired BBQ, and take in the stunning views at the 'Sunset Bar' on the adjoining deck. This seaside surfing and fishing spot has been a favourite in the family for generations, and now you can enjoy it too!

Buckley’s Retreat

We offer this unique tiny home with fantastic Ocean views. You can wake to the sunrise and watch the sunset at night all from your bed. We offer continental breakfast. Which includes eggs if the hens are laying. Outdoor spa, Complementary snacks and beverages. You may also bring your dog. 5mins drive to the centre of town. But have restaurants and grocery shops near by. Off street parking also. Just on the town boundary with a rural feel.

Multiple gentle walkways. 14 minutes drive from Oamaru. A basic place to enjoy the view and take in what Kakanui has to offer. The garden is currently being landscaped, so children staying should be over 5 years old. Pets considered, but asked not to sleep on beds or couch.

Nestled amongst the native trees, up on sunny South hill , hides a mid-century gem. Elevated over the garden with a deck that completes the house giving prime views of the ocean and sunrise. 2 minutes down the hill to the historic precinct filled with many delights including Blue Penguins ,bakery, coffee, art galleries and breweries.The East Coast golden sand beaches are a short ten minute drive away.

Relax with your family or group at this kid/dog friendly Bach. Fully fenced with a trampoline for the kids. 2 minute walk to the local school, playground, river and beach. The Kakanui shop and bottle shop is less than 2km away, with Coast cafe just a little further down the road. Bush walks and mountain biking tracks are located in Herbert Forest, 10 minutes drive away.

The Kakanui Cube

This fabulous little contemporary beach house is right across the road from the ocean. Stroll along the waterfront to Campbell's Bay surf break and the gorgeous sandy beach to All Day Bay. The Cube is the place to really relax and recharge enjoying the views and gorgeous sunrise and sunset. Chill out at home or get out for a surf or walk on the beach.
