The Okato

You won’t want to leave this charming, one-of-a-kind place. Built in the1870's, the iconic Stony River Hotel is now called The Okato. There are 7 double/twin rooms, each with a private bathroom. Set in Taranaki farmland, the Hotel is on The Surf Highway, close to world famous surf breaks. It is handy to the city attractions of New Plymouth as well as the cafes of Okato and Oakura. It is short drive to Pukeiti, a well known, spectacular Rhododendron Garden on the slopes of Mount Taranaki

The Metrotel is New Plymouth’s modern studios. We’ve designed it with our guests in mind and have included amenities like spacious rooms with self-contained kitchens (no oven), free wifi, a selection of Sky TV and Freeview channels and off-street parking. We are located directly in the CBD so it’s convenient to walk to many local attractions, restaurants and businesses.
