Calandra’s home was just as described, very clean, and smelled amazing. We had no issues with checking in and appreciated the available linens and kitchenware. We loved waking up seeing the sunrise against the water right behind the house. If there’s one thing I would recommend, it would be a bathroom fixture upgrade. Otherwise, the home is absolutely amazing and we would definitely stay again!

This home is exactly what we needed. It rained most days we were there and we still had a blast! Walking through the trails and catching huge fish were our highlights. Thank you for sharing your peaceful cottage! Highly recommend this cottage if you are in need of a peaceful getaway.

Absolutely loved the place. I arrived and was exhausted, the bed felt just like a cloud! The stay and recommendations were spot on. Would highly recommend staying here, and would do so again! Thank you, thank you!

This is a great house in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. There's tons of yard space, and honestly, the house is even prettier in person than it looks in the photos. It's large, open, and very homey... it has that comforting "grandmother's house" feel, but in a really charming way, not old or outdated. Definitely not your plain, cookie-cutter hotel vibe! Everything was very clean, but the place still had so much character. I also really appreciated the focus on restoring original features rather than replacing everything as it added a lot of warmth and uniqueness. Also, the water filter at the sink was a huge bonus and saved me money on bottled water. Highly recommend!

This boat, and its captain, are very interesting, and a unique opportunity to experience the James River. She's an old boat, and she shows her age. We had a couple of small issues that didn't really affect our comfort, but Ron was still very responsive and courteous to resolve what he could. The bed was VERY comfortable, and the marina was quiet and pleasant.

This was our second stay here, and we will definitely be coming back.

My husband and I moved down here from Ohio February and we stayed here for two weeks, until we found a home for our family. We were even able to extend our stay for another week, without an issue. James was very responsive and friendly. We had a very peaceful stay, the whole 3 weeks.

We loved our stay at Amelia’s cabin! It is such a beautiful location and so peaceful. Our family had the best time fishing from the dock, going out on the canoe, enjoying the hot tub and having a bonfire. We would definitely come back! Our dogs had the best time swimming as well. Amelia was always very responsive, friendly and helpful! She is a wonderful host!

The place was really nice in a quiet neighborhood, I wish we could have booked it in the summer to use the grill in the back, so a nice little retreat for my family it felt like home. My family would use this place again.
