Na h-Eileanan an Iar: soggiorni in bungalow

This is a beautiful cottage furnished to a very high standard with spectacular views to Valtos beaches and beyond. The cottage is extremely well equipped with everything needed in the kitchen and throughout the property. We got a lovely surprise on opening the fridge to find a lovely welcome basket inside which was much appreciated. We have just spent a very comfortable and most enjoyable week there. There is ample parking beside the cottage for 2 or more cars. I cannot stress enough what a wonderful location this is for Valtos cottage. Although it is quite remote, there is easy access to several beaches less than an hour away and many of the roads are 2 -way. One small point that we weren’t aware of was the cattle grid at the end of the ungated driveway so we just always had to be careful to keep our young spaniel away from it so it wasn’t a problem.

Es war sehr schön bei Margaret Ann. Der Ausblick vom Wohnzimmer auf das Meer war traumhaft und Margaret Ann war eine super Gastgeberin. Die Zimmer waren sauber und das Frühstück war sehr gut. Wir würden wiederkommen.

This cottage is a wonderful getaway. It is in a peaceful and quiet area by the water but close enough to Castlebay for restaurants etc. We stayed here for a week for our honeymoon and felt right at home. The host was lovely enough to decorate with balloons and “just married” signs, such a nice welcome! Everything was spotless and well stocked. Very comfortable, would definitely stay again :)

Lovely comfortable bungalow making it very easy to settle in. Was nice and warm for us on arrival. Well stocked kitchen utensils. Comfortable beds and linen. Lovely view from back windows of croft and sea. We were visiting family in the area but it is a great place to stay and come back to after exploring around the island. Julia was very helpful when our ferry was delayed.

The Happy Bishop is located in a beautiful remote area of Lewis. The views from the open format living/dining room through floor to ceiling windows out across the bay are spectacular. Walking in the area or having a cold dip on one of the wore sand beaches in the turquoise waters is just amazing. Felt very peaceful and got some much needed rest from the busy everyday life and made memories to cherish. We fell in love and will be back!

We had a fantastic stay at Driftwood- it was my grandparents’ first time to Lewis and it was the ideal base. Lovely big house, fantastic views and a good base for exploring Uig. Very well stocked, lots of amenities- we appreciated the air fryer and coffee machine!

We stayed here at the midway point on our two-week adventure through Scotland and having such walkable access to Portree, a free parking spot, and access to laundry was fantastic! Everything was clean and Alessandro was very kind and responsive!

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit. War alles super und es hat alles was man braucht und mehr. Die Lange ist super. Ein guter Ausgangspunkt in alle Richtungen. Mit der tollen Hilfsbereitschaft haben wir bei der Abreise Bekanntschaft gemacht als unser Auto nicht mehr starten wollte!

We had a great few days at Jason’s fab place. The beds were very comfy, it was nice and warm, the amenities are great - especially the dishwasher! Its was a Locke tough to have done shortbreads and a bottle of Sauvignon waiting for us on arrival! The Ferry Inn Isle of Harris Brewing Company was great for food and giifts. The owners were very friendly people who were happy with us turning up quite close to kitchen closing time as long as we pre-ordered - the langoustines were divine! Thank you Jason!

Wir waren mit 6 Personen dort. Das Haus hat großzügige Gemeinschaftsräume, sodass man mit einer größeren Gruppe die ein oder andere Regen Stunde überbrücken kann. Der Ausblick direkt auf das Meer ist atemberaubend und einfach wunderschön! Die Küche könnte für 6 Personen etwas besser ausgestattet sein, aber man kommt trotzdem gut zurecht. Wir hatten eine super Zeit und würden wiederkommen!

We had a great stay for 2 nights in April. The place was easy to find, parking was secure and simple, and Baya made it simple for us to get any questions answered. One nice thing about this place is that it is close enough to the restaurants and pubs of downtown Portree that you can just walk down the hill and be there in 10 minutes, so there is no reason to drive into town. The house itself is in a peaceful neighborhood, and there is plenty of space to hang out outside, if you get some takeaway.
