The Maynard Log Cabin was erected by a homesteader after the civil war. We have moved and restored it and made it available for rent. It is off the grid, but it has a complete functioning kitchen, wood stove and sitting room downstairs. There are two antique beds with new mattresses upstairs. There is no electricity but the cabin is furnished with kerosene lanterns. The bathroom facilities consist of wash basins and outhouse. The cabin is surrounded by 40 acres of woods and meadows.
Our place is close to numerous lakes, Paul Bunyan Bike Trail, canoe/kayak, fish, hike, restaurants and dining, and lots of family activities. We are a working alpaca farm on 40 acres. An abundance of wildlife with daily visits from the turkeys, deer and birds of all kinds are a part of our farm life. We also have a campfire pit back in the woods that is ideal for an evening of s'mores and conversation or sit in the screened porch. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families.
The Adventure Studio is like stepping into a treehouse that boasts stunning views and a cozy relaxing deck overlooking 200' of shoreline on a great fishing lake. Inside enjoy views from two full walls of windows, a skylight and vaulted ceilings. Well appointed kitchen for a several day stay. A fire pit, pedal boat, paddleboards, wooded acreage, a mile long nature hiking, biking trail and access to other adventures. All on a quiet tree lined road, perfect for peaceful strolls at sunset.
