We loved our stay at Shelter Cove! The house is big and beautiful and properly stocked as it’s the host’s normal residence. The kitchen has everything we needed and more! We felt very comfortable in the space and everything felt spacious. Marc was very communicative and helpful. It was an easy 5 min drive down to stunning black sand beaches. There’s also a children’s park just a quick walk down the road. There were a few things broken by the previous guests, but Marc was quick to acknowledge them ahead of our trip and fix things in a timely manner while we were out exploring. It was a great trip to Shelter Cove and this house offered a fantastic home base for our group.

Talk about Northern California paradise, Graeme's place is so beautiful and so relaxing. It is a bit of a drive from the 101 but so worth it for the peace and quiet; slept better than I have in months. Trees forever; well supplied kitchen--you can cook anything as plenty of pots/pans, utensils. Books and games for kids and adults; we had 3 generations with us and everyone hated to leave.

This place is a must, if you need a reset to unwind. The view is worth the travel. Would definitely recommend this place. This airbnb has everything you need.

Pauline was most gracious and helpful. Went out of her way to accommodate our needs. Her farmhouse was full of her personality and artistic flair. Very enjoyable stay. Bed comfortable, entire house clean and full of art and color. Grounds open spacious, plenty of parking, chicken coop, and yes, rooster greetings as expected in country setting. Lots of outdoor seating, all in all a wonderful stay. Thanks Pauline.

My dog and I only stayed overnight but the cabin was a perfect stop off when traveling up 101! It’s right off the highway but feels very secluded. Amazing amenities with the washer/dryer and exercise room, though we didn’t need them this time; we did enjoy eating outside in the central picnic area. Charles was super responsive and flexible and I always appreciate a place that welcomes dogs without tons of restrictions. I’d definitely stay again and encourage anyone to book :)

Very peaceful area nice and quiet and walking distance to the river. Lisa was available and very helpful with local information. We will be returning !!

Stayed at a cabin for the long weekend around Valentine's day. Wonderful property and location, right on the river. Charles is a wonderful host and helped out with local recommendations. Great place for a weekend getaway, pretty close to Richardson's Grove State Park, Humboldt as well. Avenue of the Giants is like a 20 minute drive away and it is right on the US 101.

Beautiful location, amazing attention to detail throughout the property. All the added extras were great too with the massage and vegan cooking. Highly recommend a stay here.

I think our host was actually a black cat. The very friendly and affectionate cat greeted us on arrival (Charles had sent excellent instructions and was flexible on when we arrived). The cat and my daughter immediately bonded thanks to much petting. The cat showed us to our cabin (which was better than the pictures with two redwood trees growing through the porch and more redwood trees as part of the view down to the Eel River). I spent many hours hanging out on that porch reading and working (thank you very fast Starlink) and petting the cat. She was very well trained not to enter the cabin, which was comfortable and had plenty of space. We also enjoyed being able to use the lodge kitchen and games and bigger tables and porches. We spent a week immersed in the redwoods and this cabin was the perfect place to stay. We did meet Charles, who told us the cat is named Beyoncé.
