Middletown: soggiorni in B&B

Thank you Jennifer and Patty for sharing such a lovely space! Finding the location of the BnB, as well as our check-in process went very smoothly. Patty, who helped us throughout our stay, showed us to our very clean and spacious room while sharing some recommendations for the area. Thanks to her we were able to enjoy Charlestown and beyond, supporting local businesses (bars, restaurants, and bait shop to rent kayaks) along the way. She even let us borrow some beach chairs! The bnb is quiet and charming, a perfect getaway for couples and families alike. So grateful for their hospitality, hope to visit soon :)

Stayed with Alexis for one night for a wedding in Newport. The location was easy to get to and she graciously allowed us to check in early when I realized check in didn’t start until we had to leave for the wedding! Very friendly and welcoming and knows the area very well to offer suggestions of things to do in the area!

I really enjoyed my stay with Walter at Poplar House. He is incredibly communicative. So much so that it came off a little demanding at first, but after I met him I quickly realized he just really enjoys making sure people have a great stay. He literally greeted me as I was walking down the street, and began giving suggestions for places to check out. His home feels like a space that's lived in, which I expected from the description. In the morning Walter would come in early to make sure the coffee was brewing and ready. It was a bit odd that there weren't any keys, but it didn't end up being a problem. I could lock my bedroom door while I slept. You can tell Walter loves what he does. He enjoys meeting people and will talk your ear off about all kinds of topics (he's a very storied guy). If you're not into conversing, just tell him and he'll be happy to give you space. And the location is prime. I mostly walked all week and saw so many cool things, and ate so much good food!

Alexis' place is a real gem! I plan to stay there every time I go to Newport. The location is very close to all the sites: Waterfront, shops, etc. Alexis helped me with a plan of how to get to the Cliffwalk to experience the art exhibit, "Migration of Elephants", by recommending the free trolley. This turned out to be great and made for easy, free travel. The place itself felt so comfortable, I honestly slept better than I have for some time in the cozy surroundings, that were both quiet and safe. The comfy bed had amazing linens and accommodations were truly beautiful. The next morning I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast she provided with coffee and great conversation. As an Airbnb host myself for 10 years now I recognize the amount of work it takes to make the place feel as nice as this one did. I recommend you don't waste your time looking for other accommodations in Newport. Just try to get a booking with Alexis at Henry House.

I can’t say enough about Tracy and her beautiful home. There is truly art in all she does, from her immaculately clean, beautifully curated and well-kept farmhouse to the love and skill that go into her perfect scones. My family and I had a restful, peaceful and cozy stay. We piled into the car raving about the homemade breakfast (from scratch and literally farm to table: home-grown grape juice and eggs from her chickens) and how lucky we felt to find her. This one will be a repeat stay next time we’re in the area. Thank you for making the last part of our summer vacation even more special, Tracy!

I’m so grateful to have found Grace Note Farm Inn & B&B. I had a wedding in Chepachet only 10 min. away and I definitely did want to stay in a hotel or motel, too impersonal. I made a 4 day vacation out of it and I’m glad I did because I’m an outdoor enthusiast and a 75 yo horsewoman so this place was my cup of tea! Virginia is also a horsey person so we had similar war stories to tell. The Inn is quite and relaxing and borders Conservation land. I slept so soundly all three nights and the best part is I was able to avoid the family drama and enjoy my nephew’s wedding well rested! Also Virginia makes incredible blueberry pancakes and banana bread…I will definitely return for an R&R vacation and explore more hiking trails and try out some kayaking…#hiddengem

What an amazing stay! From start to finish, this was a lovely experience. Jeffrey and Christine were very responsive and communicated with us prior to our stay to make sure we knew where to park and how to access our accommodations. The house is warm and comfortable and we were so happy with our rooms and the lovely bathrooms. There is also a wonderful sitting room on the first floor. They provided complimentary beverages and a delicious breakfast each morning. We had to leave quite early one morning and they even put out some grab-and-go selections for us. They really went above and beyond to make this a wonderful stay. The house is quite close to URI and other RI attractions. Thank you, Jeffrey and Christine for being such gracious hosts!

I can’t say enough positive things about the absolutely warm welcome and beautiful host family Pam and Joe were. Pam outdid herself baking cookies and delicious breakfasts for us. There were many toys and books for my 3yo daughter to enjoy. I also enjoyed the adult book library. Every need is anticipated and provided for. I especially enjoyed the gas fireplace that made the suite extra cozy. The bedding was so comfortable, and the yard with the sandy beach, kayaks, fire pit, swing, climbing tree and toys galore were heavenly for my daughter and I to make cherished memories together. The pictures do not do their beautiful home and yard justice! If you are looking for a relaxing Rhode Island sanctuary with a top notch view of the river, peace, comfort and a home away from home, stay with Pam and Joe. This is exactly what the founders of Airbnb envisioned!

This is a very unique property to say the least. Over the top is a phrase that comes to mind with the architecture. This exquisite house has so much history. Look it up on line. (Tirocchi sisters) They have books about the house and its renovation in each room and for sale. It is remarkable. So many people came together and preserved this treasure. I love the local art twists- artists in residence. The fact that it was preserved and opened to the public to enjoy is very special. The hosts were lovely and there was a feeling of warmth and belonging once I walked in the door. They have snacks and coffee and tea available at all time, and they serve you continental breakfast on a tray! This was one of my favorite stays on my 3 week trip hopping around the east coast. I highly recommend this place. L from the west coast

We really enjoyed everything about our two night stay. From early checkin to very reasonable 12 check out, everything went smoothly. Additional bedding was supplied for a friend and overall the room was very large with a great big bathroom in the corner. Highly recommend.

Anna was very friendly and super helpful for check-in and check-out. The house is a beautiful landmark, worthy of a visit by itself. The breakfast offered was filled with local specialities, and we appreciated the snacks and coffee at offer as well. The house is a fully renovated version of the original from the 1800s. One can climb up to the attic for a great view of the city. The floors and walls have been decorated by local artists. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and almost a vacation for us though our original purpose was to visit Brown University

He is an excellent host, was very accommodating. Really enjoyed being at the airbnb. Thanks Rick for prompt responses and making us feel comfortable.

Connie thought of everything you could ask for and more. The medicine cabinet was full of items in case you forgot something. In the sitting area she has a stoocked fridge with breakfast treats, water and all kinds of snacks. Connie is a baker, and left us a wonderful aray of cookies and pastries. She also has a variety of coffees and tea. She is definitely the hostess with the mostest!!!! You will NOT be disappointed if you book with Connie!!

This was the second time I stayed at Sara’s place. As always, Sara is a gracious host. Her location is seaside rural, but not too far from the city. I’ve already rebooked with her for June.

Hi Neville!!! I mean, Justin, thank you so much for your hospitality and friendship, the home was an absolute dream for a great night sleep and an excellent breakfast (w/ waffles!!). We will most definitely make plans to visit again, see you then!

Justin's 300+ year old pre-American Revoluion home is in incredible & intact condition with many original architectural/design delights including original floor planks, fireplace / kitchen hearth, and beautiful barn (which we learned from our host is likely the oldest surviving barn in the country on its original foundation). Justin generously shared his vast knowledge about the history of home and the original (and subsequent) owners of the house. He was also delightful to hang around with, and very helpful with logistical details and recommendations etc. The accommodations (including modern bathrooms!) are charming and appropriate, and the home is full of era-appropriate artifacts and eclectic/fun items, all of which Justin invites guests to interact with. Highly recommend - especially if you love his old houses and history. I can't imagine another unique opportunity to be so up close with a house of this era without it being a no-touch museum setting. The home & host are treasures!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay here! The room had the cutest decor and was very clean! It was also close to every place we traveled to. We would definitely stay again!

Everything was awesome. The only annoyance was a woman talking loudly on her phone conducting business right outside our room for at least an hour in the morning. The location, amenities and everything were just as described. Very clean and adorable decor.

We love staying at the Surf Shack!! The rooms are fabulous! You feel like you're right at home. The bartenders are amazing and the food was delicious! We always look forward to staying here! Can't wait to book another trip.
