Wonderful view, clean and super relaxing. Loved the separated king rooms with their own en-suite bathrooms. Great for two couples. If you had kids with you the downstairs had two more bedrooms that would’ve been great for kids. Hot tub was great. Only downside to the place is the distance from things if you want to go out at all. We decided to be relaxed and stay in a bunch so it was great. We had rainy weather but did the short waterfall hike in the subdivision one day. It was easy and enjoyable. Took less than an hour. Katrina was very responsive. Overall a great Airbnb!

Great place for a moderate size group! Great lake views and host has a few items for folks to enjoy the lake itself!!! Will definitely be looking at using his place again for future needs in the McDowell County area!!!

Stayed at Christy's place from 4/14/25 to 4/18/25. Very modern, serene, and peaceful. Great place for outdoor enthusiasts, especially for those that love the water and kayaking. There is also easy hiking on the Flora Trail within walking distance in this gated community. The Fonta Flora Loop Trail is about 3 miles away and is a moderate hike with great water and mountain view. Down the road a bit further is Shortoff Mountain which is somewhat strenuous but the views are worth it. Would definitely stay again! Dave

Tamara and Marc were so welcoming and had everything set up for the most amazing experience. There was not one detail left un attended to. They went above and WAY beyond with supplies and amazing treats. For a very small price Tamara prepared the most amazing picnic for us that we had by the creek. We spent hours down there with our pup. The nature and surroundings as well as the beautiful Forrest cabin in the trees were only exceeded by their gracious hospitality. This was an amazing experience and we can’t wait to return. Thank you Tamara and Marc!!!!

We had wonderful experience staying in Elizabeth's house over NYE. The house is just great, has everything what you might need and more. Elizabeth was very accommodating and very responsive. Perfect for a large group getting together.

The house was just perfect, the lake and the sound of the creek were magical. We loved getting to spend our family Christmas in such a wonderful place. The hosts were very welcoming and super helpful. Definitely recommend

We had an amazing experience! Spectacular picturesque views of Lake James with mountain backdrops. The host was also very quick to respond with any questions. I would highly recommend this lakehouse paradise. :)

Karen was helpful in sending recommendations and communication regarding the impact of Helene on the area. Always answered questions and put us at ease. The suite was beautiful and the amenities were nice and the views were great. Instructions were helpful. I would highly recommend this suite

The view of Lake James from this house is absolutely breathtaking whether from the upstairs deck or downstairs patio. Three of the seven bedrooms have lake views as well. The house was perfect for our crew of 14--although, with 3 of the bedrooms having twin beds, we did end up with at least 1 couple having to sleep apart. It's a beautiful home but there were a few bumps in the road. There's no table suited for more than 6 or 8 at a time for meals. The kitchen has a 48" range with 2 ovens but one of them did not work and the door on the other oven just dropped open without notice. The bar has a fridge and ice machine but the ice machine did not work. There was a sign on it saying there was ice in the kitchen freezer, but the kitchen freezer did not work either. It had a sign pointing you to a deep freezer on the screened porch. That one worked. Only 2 closets in the house available for use by guests. Small towels and none extra. HVAC took 12 hrs to cool. Still had a lovely time!
