Glacier View Log Cabin

Relax and enjoy astounding glacier and mountain views from every window in Glacier View, Alaska. This is an authentic, spacious Alaskan log cabin built in 1973. The cabin has a full custom kitchen, full bath, and a private view of the Matanuska Glacier from inside the cabin or from the deck. Prepare your own meals in the fully equipped kitchen, or dine at our local lodge across the road. The Glacier View Log Cabin sleeps up to 6 and has TV, wifi, and woodstove heat. The Glen Alps/Flattop Trailhead is 1 mile up the road and provides easy access to amazing hiking, mountain biking, snow shoeing, climbing, and skiing adventures. Enjoy the unobstructed views of Denali/Mt. McKinley, “Sleeping Lady” (Mount Susitna), and the Anchorage skyline from 1600ft elev.

Even if Denali is hidden in the clouds, you overlook the valley. You can drink morning coffee looking out at Denali. There are not many places that have a view like this. Why stay with the crowds when you can have privacy. Lots of hiking trails right from the house are available. Moose often walk through this area.

Talkeetna Downtown Green House

This little green house is walking distance to downtown Talkeetna. It is on a quiet dead end road perpendicular to the village airstrip. There is plenty of parking in a long driveway next to the house off the road. There is a fire pit and wood in the backyard. It is comfortable for 2 people, however, 4 people could make it work since there is a couch that can be pulled out to a bed. It has a Smart TV with Roku, a full kitchen, W/D, bathtub/shower and wifi. Pets are allowed.

Our cabin is in a private wilderness setting on a beautiful stream. There is a wood-fired sauna for your year round use. In mid-July through mid-September salmon often swim by your deck. Our single room streamside cabin rests on the Southfork branch of Montana Creek, built from local spruce and birch. We do not have television or hot running water; our bathroom is a cozy outhouse.

Welcome to this cozy, modern cabin tucked into the trees. Walk 5 minutes to the Talkeetna Lakes Park trails and spend the day skiing, biking, hiking, or paddling in this gem of a park. Flying Squirrel Bakery is just down the road for pastries, and the bike path will take you straight into downtown Talkeetna, 4 miles away.
