Misty Mountain Hut - Ruapehu

Misty Mountain Hut-Ruapehu is located in the sleepy little village of Rangataua, 5 minutes distance to Mountain road going up to the Turoa skifield and Ohakune. The 1 bedroom colonial villa has a beautiful view of the mountain. Unlimited wifi and a new firebox with plenty of firewood and a heat pump ensure you are warm in winter. My favourite time here is summer for amazing walks/cycling up mountains to enjoy majestic views. Misty Mountain Hut supports local staff by paying $40/hr for cleaning.

Kawakawa Hut with outdoor “crystal” bath

A small but special little place tucked neatly between rolling hills. Kawakawa Hut provides a simple but comfy getaway for two in a beautiful countryside. Close by lies the vegetable garden, and friendly cows graze just over the fence. Further out over surrounding farmland you can see Tongariros snow capped mountains in the distance, so sit back and enjoy. Location, location, location. A peaceful paradise with stunning views of beautiful lake Taupo and Mount Tauhara. A treasured home with a very warm and welcoming vibe - lots of unique features. The location is brilliant, overlooking Acacia Bay’s popular swimming and kayaking bay. Walk to the water in two minutes. The boat ramp is a short two min drive and we are seven minutes by car to Taupo township. The perfect spot for your next break. The views are amazing! A special Kiwi experience!

Tau Studio - Boutique Accommodation

Tau Studio is a boutique style chalet with a modern stylish decor and a hint of luxury. Everything is provided including top quality linen. It is very spacious but also has a lovely cosy, warm feel. Perfect for couples. It is based in the lovely quiet village of Rangataua which is only a 5-minute drive to Ohakune township where there are plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops. The winter offers fantastic skiing and snowboarding, and summer offers lots of walks, mountain biking and fishing.

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space, with amazing views of the sunset. Fully renovated in 2020 Cook a delicious meal in the well equipped kitchen, then dine on your choice of decks to soak up the rural or sea views. Just a 7 minute walk to the popular Castlecliff beach for a swim or take a stroll along the black sandy beach, call into the Citadel for a meal or drink on the way home. Ohakune is an hours drive to enjoy the great walks or skiing. 4 square and laundromat close by

Dreamy sunsets over Lake Taupo & Ruapehu

Our modern home is 15 minutes from Taupō yet feels like a private hideaway. Quiet and secluded, it looks out to Lake Taupō and Mount Ruapehu, with stunning sunsets. Ideal year-round, it has outdoor areas with BBQ, large windows and a double-sided fireplace. Whakaipo Bay is 5 minutes away for swimming or walking, with plenty of bush tracks nearby. Not suitable for children. Hairdryer, toiletries and iron not provided (sorry guests keep taking them and it’s to hard to constantly replace).

Ohingaiti Farm Cottage

Located on State Highway 1... 2 hours south of Taupo, 2 hours north of Wellington & 1 hour to Ohakune. Enjoy a wine on the deck looking out at the operating sheep and beef farm. Our restored shearers quarters are modern, warm, bright and comfortable. Double glazed, fireplace, insulated, infinity gas and beautifully decorated. We have free Wifi. ChromeCast on the TV. Waireka Apartment, situated in Ohakune in the Ruapehu District is a self contained 2 bedroom apartment each with a queen size bed, a large lounge with mountain views, kitchen and own spa pool. Spa Pool operates from 10am to 10pm Cleaning on departure is included in the rate. The Tree House is set on a small hill in the tree tops, requiring being able to climb multiple steps for access through the bush. At the top you receive stunning views of the surrounding forest. This eco house generates its own electricity and is designed to capture the sun. The two person wood fired hot tub is the perfect way to relax after a day skiing or climbing the Tongariro Crossing.
