Storybook Northwoods Log Cabin on Lake Superior

Painted Rock sits perched on a quaint spit of ledge rock, halfway between Lutsen and Grand Marais, on the edge of Cascade State Park. This historic log cabin has been lovingly restored to retain all its original charm and history, while updated with all the luxury amenities. A large Main Room is home to a wood-burning fireplace, dining table, game table, and picture windows that bring the Big Lake indoors in all seasons. A bathroom with a deep soaker tub and heated floors adds spa-like comfort.

Riverwood Hideaway

This off-grid, solar powered hideaway is on the Knife River just a few miles outside of Two Harbors, Minnesota. The cabin itself is loaded with comfort. A full kitchen, propane refrigerator, solar powered lights and a gas fireplace/furnace offer the conveniences of home. There is an outhouse and firewood for the outdoor firepit. You will have to bring your own water for drinking, but we provide hand and dish washing water at the sink. We have coffee with pour over utensils, dishes, spices.

One of three private units on our 11-acre property. 5 miles from Lake Superior, you’ll be close to some of Minnesota’s top outdoor attractions, including: Gooseberry Falls (13 min), Split Rock Lighthouse (20 min), Gitchi-Gami State Trail. Whether you're hiking, sightseeing, biking, or simply relaxing by the fire, The Fireside offers the ideal base for your North Shore adventure.

We have great views, comfortable furniture, well equipped kitchen, games, puzzles, books, WiFi, TV & 4 pairs of snowshoes. Xmas/MLK/Pres Day 3night min stay Please note that we do not accept pets, and no smoking of any kind is allowed on our property

Stay as private as you wish or visit the pools and sauna. Complete kitchen. Outdoors and very nearby is a fire-pit and grill with a staircase down to the Lake. Couples and young families find this an ideal place to get away.
