If you really want to experience the Isle of Skye in all its grandeur, this is the place to do it! The drive to Waternish is gorgeous, rolling hills to your right, the water to your left. The house fits right in - walking into the light filled kitchen will make you gasp, I’m sure. The house is simply beautiful with everything you could need or want - five burner range, chefs table etc. The beds were comfortable and all of the rooms look out over the water. The highlight of the area for us was the Stein Inn pub - oldest pub on Skye. Great whiskey selection and terrific food. When planning your trip, make sure to secure a reservation at the Loch Bay restaurant. A Michelin starred experience we won’t soon forget. Both are right down the hill from the house. Make sure you stock up on groceries before you get there as there’s not anything available locally. I really loved the guidebook with all the itinerary recommendations. This a really special place!

This is a special place. We were hoping for a comfortable base for a family get-together in a beautiful part of Scotland, but this exceeded all our expectations. The house was warm and welcoming on our arrival, full of character, with a fantastic kitchen and plenty of space. We spent most of our time in the extension room with panoramic windows, enjoying the views and the bird and animal life - an otter on the shore below us, deer on the grass outside early in the morning. Conor is a supportive host, pro-active and available if any issues arise. We all loved the house and had a wonderful stay in Aultbea.

Diana’s place was perfect for our family holiday. The location is both tranquil and remote in the way we like but not far from interesting and beautiful places (Applecross, Torrodin, Plockton and Skye all less than an hour away). The house was comfy and looks right into loch Kishorn. It’s well equipped and there are great local amenities nearby in kishorn and loch carron. Milo (Diana’s partner) was a helpful and charming host and we would absolutely recommend this lovely house for a highland holiday.

I would definitely recommend this property. It has everything you need and is clean and fresh set in a lovely location. Hosts were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They left some nice surprises in the fridge for me to enjoy plus Michelle came to the door with some delicious home baking. I would 100% stay here again.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful cottage. Everything is perfect - so peaceful, with a fantastic view. The cottage is very cosy, and has everything you need (including well-equipped kitchen, excellent shower, comfortable beds). Mairi and her daughter Freya were very helpful, with clear directions. There's so much to do and see in the area, so it makes a great base for exploring. Highly recommended!

Jan's cottage was the perfect spot to stay for our first time in Lochcarron! The view outside the living room and bedroom windows could not be beat, and being able to walk right across the street to the water was incredible. I found lots of sea glass and sea pottery so easily! The cottage is perfectly located for walking to food and the grocery store, and the kitchen is fully stocked for cooking at home. Everything was immaculately clean and comfortable, and we felt right at home. Jan was very responsive, and came to the rescue with helpful resources when we had unexpected car troubles. I hope to come back and stay here again!

We have been to Skye many times so knew the area well. The house was perfect and in a fabulous location.

Sarah was very responsive and helpful when Airbnb cancelled our reservation by mistake. She also met us on arrival and showed us around her place which is even nicer than the pictures. She is an engaging and lovely host. We highly recommend a stay at her place.

We had a lovely couple of days break at Ian’s. He greeted us and gave us all the information we would need for a quick check in. If you enjoy quirky, scenic, historic, picturesque accommodation and timeless scenery, this is the place for you. We have two dogs and they absolutely loved it! Great skies at night and the hot tub wasn’t too shabby either. The best quirk is the floating bridge which in certain weather conditions can be fun. It offers a unique and playful side to this wonderful look back to a time when things were “simpler”.

If you want to tour Skye without paying inflated Skye prices, this cottage is a great option as it is only a ten minute drive to the Skye bridge. Plus you are well situated for exploring Plockton, Applecross, Glenelg, etc. The cottage is in a very peaceful setting. You will really enjoy driving back from a day’s exploration because the evening light is so wonderful in the Highlands. We had a week of unusually warm weather - good luck with yours on the “misty isle”.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this Airbnb! The flat was immaculately clean and offered so much space – perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The hostess was incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the very beginning. One of the unexpected highlights was her adorable little dog we met, who was an absolute delight and added such a sweet, homely touch to our stay. The location is fantastic – close to everything you might need, yet peaceful and quiet. And the view… simply breathtaking! Waking up to that scenery every morning was truly a dream. We would return in a heartbeat and can wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for comfort, charm, and a genuine local experience.

As regular Raasay visitors we know the area well but we hadn't stayed here before. The big wow for this cottage is the view from the dining room, which is absolutely amazing. We were the first people to stay after some major renovations (replacing tiny bedroom with a bathroom upstairs as well as retaining a shower room downstairs) and some snagging and decoration had yet to be fully completed. Having said that it absolutely didn't matter to us, and both Olly locally and the owner, Toby, were friendly and attentive and wanted to ensure everything was Ok for us. We also understand that these snags were to be resolved as soon as we left. Visitors should be aware that the steep drive is a little challenging, although the lower half has been asphalted. However, the fantastic location easily makes up for this, with both Dun Caan and Inver walkable from the front door. We also saw dolphins, otters, seals and eagles from this amazing island, and would DEFINITELY return here 🙂

Un petit COIN DE PARADIS au bord de la mer. Nous qui venions de Belgique et en avion, tout était prévu pour une arrivée sans tracas : café, thé, lait, œufs, beurre, pain, biscuits, poudre à lessiver, pastilles lave-vaisselle… Le logement, la disposition des pièces, la décoration, tout est fait pour se sentir « comme chez soi ». La vue est magnifique. Vous pouvez, rencontrer tôt le matin, des cerfs et biches se promenant dans l’allée. L’hôtel-restaurant à deux minutes de la maison, permet de se restaurer ou de boire un verre, de nouveau en bord de mer. Il y a beaucoup de choses à voir et à découvrir dans la région. Le loch Marée, le jardin botanique, Ullapool, les balades diverses et variées, la distillerie badachro et bien d’autres. N’hésitez pas à louer cette maison si vous souhaitez un dépaysement total. We had an amazing stay at Kilmuir Park! Perfect amenities, space and location. Christine and Ian were super responsive and friendly, this made our stay feel easy and comfortable. We would recommend the cottage to anyone!

We dont live to far away, top of Caithness. Rugged and wild by the sea. I wanted from this trip quietness and little to no contact with humans! I am tired of socialising, tired of the world's doom and bloody gloom, This wee cottage is so peaceful and private. I barely left the house, reset my soul Lost track of day & time. Slept peacefully Such a pity I have to go back to the real world again! This cottage is a haven , Saul thanks for sharing. Liz Leon was all manly and took charge of the fire & dogs. Great little house in an absolutely gorgeous location—the perfect base for exploring Uist. Rhonda was an excellent host, regularly contacting us with any updates and ensuring that we had everything we needed. Hope to be back soon!

Ein traumhafter Aufenthalt – absolut empfehlenswert! Unser Aufenthalt in diesem Cottage war einfach wundervoll! Schon bei der Ankunft wurden wir von einer warmen, einladenden Atmosphäre empfangen – das Haus ist mit so viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet, dass man sich vom ersten Moment an wohlfühlt. Alles war blitzsauber, geschmackvoll dekoriert und perfekt ausgestattet – es hat wirklich an nichts gefehlt. Die Umgebung ist herrlich ruhig, ideal zum Entspannen, und gleichzeitig gibt es in der Nähe viele schöne Ausflugsmöglichkeiten. Besonders gefallen hat uns der gemütliche Wohnbereich mit Kamin. Die Gastgeber waren unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit – man merkt, dass ihnen das Wohl ihrer Gäste wirklich am Herzen liegt. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und können dieses Cottage wärmstens weiterempfehlen!

What a gem. Our stay at 48 Ballalan was everything we hoped it would be - peaceful, relaxing, with beautiful views, and a very cosy atmosphere. The house has real character with the art, furniture, and furnishings all telling a thoughtful story. All too often an AirBnB lacks a decent selection of Karl Ove Knausgaard or Cy Twomby exhibition books, but not this time! Thank you Calum for a perfect stay - from the beach walks to the distillery visit we wouldn’t change a thing. Would love to come back again! Callum, Sofia and Aria
